The Falcons had so many chances in the redzone and the Denver defense shut them down until late in the 4th quarter. Elway may have been the MVP but that defense held it's own.
0:15 Can you believe Chris Berman referenced "Cannonball Adderley"??? That's the second time I've heard Berman reference Cannonball. He must be a jazz fan.
The 98 Falcons have a bit of a reputation of being a fluke/one year wonder, but frankly this team was never healthy again, not to mention they would lose Tony Martin who added another dimension to their passing game.

The Falcons moved the ball well but made too many mistakes. They ran out of gas after winning the previous game!

Can't believe the Falcons blew a 3-0 lead. Surely the biggest choke they'll ever have in the Superbowl!
Thanks for uploading these videos! As a Broncos fan, I've really enjoyed the recap of the 97 and 98 seasons.
Great seasons!!!
This game will always be remembered as the Super Bowl the Vikings should have been in. Still sucks to think about what we missed out on.
As soon as Morton Anderson Made that field goal, everyone in Denver knew we just won the Super Bowl.
And me a sad Vikings fan knew you just did too.
How would the Vikings would have fared if they reached SB 33?
@@AmirKhan-yv8jm I always envisioned Vikings winning in a shootout, Carter game winning TD.
Hard to have a worse 24 or so hours than Eugene Robinson had.
Tim Dwight tried to make things right for the Falcons
I wish the Vikings would've make Super Bowl instead it would have been one Epic one
Even though the Vikings were a better team on paper than the Falcons I think the Broncos would have won. Broncos defense was very good in 98.
Yes indeed.
@@allstarchris1the Viking would struggle to contain the Broncos offense!
Darrien Gordon- The Commissioner
Cornelius Bennett went 0-5 in Super Bowls. Ouch.
Shit, I know Glenn Parker went 0-4 with the Bills and 0-1 with the Giants, didnt think anyone else was that cursed
@@NYG5 that because they was assholes
ironically both teams' star running backs would blow out their knee early the following season and never really be the same again.
I’m shocked that Terrell Davis didn’t get the ball at the goal line.
Why? They scored... Lol
Is John Elway the first player I know of that retired after a Super Bowl win (in his case two straight)?
Bettis and Andrew Whitworth are the only that come to mind.
@@thepostfkAnd Ray Lewis but I wondered if Elway was actually the first player to retire for good after winning it all
Michael Strahan did also. And didn’t Ray retire for good after his win also?
Yes Ray retired after winning SB 47, his second. The 12 year gap between SB wins is the largest for any player!
Quite a weekend for Eugene Robinson
Elway's last game as Broncos QB. In the off-season, he retires
Like the previous year. TJ had to be grinning from ear to ear.
The 98 Falcons have a bit of a reputation of being a fluke/one year wonder, but frankly this team was never healthy again, not to mention they would lose Tony Martin who added another dimension to their passing game.
They were lucky to make SB 33 and ran out of gas!
Rod Smith- HE COULD. GO. ALL. THE. WAY!
Enjoy it while you can, Denver. The future doesn't look friendly for you.
No way that Peyton manning, the promising rookie QB and #1 overall pick for the Colts ends up playing for the Broncos!
Though this would be elways last game, it wasn’t his last 🏈🏆
The 97 and 98 broncos team was one of the best teams ever
Howard “Andy” Griffith
6:44 All together now
I forgot how good Denver's D was in 98 .
They forced turnovers and had some good players. Overshadowed by their offense! Was even better in SB 50!
We just couldn't finish drives vs Denver smh...
ATL was lucky to even be there.
