    This unique car, which will not be produced again, deserves attention..
    There is a leaking sound somewhere near the exhaust manifold and even when idling, the engine is not happy, there is vibration...
    Naturally, it is difficult to even understand that these engines are working. Because they are very quiet, I have seen many people who want to turn the key and start the engine without realizing it while they are idling..
    unfortunately ,
    Many people do not attach importance to engine cleanliness with the thought of "invisible anyway".

    Frankman Motor Company I think this companies display & drive is the best on YT. Going over the details then driving the vehicle, is so to the point. By the way, this guy has got my dream job, he's sooo lucky! Fantastic work, keep it comin.

    Sounds like it needs some exhaust work and maybe a tune up ?

  • @anthonybianchini5144
    @anthonybianchini5144 Год назад +3

    Nice miss-matched yellow plug wire! Might explain the rough idle = needs a (ignition) tune up. Makes you wonder what else might be going on. Too bad it doesn't have the sun roof option. Pretty nice condition, overall.

    I bought my dads uncles ‘73 FLEETWOOD BROUGHAM similar color little darker with beige top and Brown Leather I was 17 years old. I sold my 1972 Delta 88 Royale to a friend at work for $1,495 and paid $1,700 for the Caddy with less than half the miles of the Olds in 1978. The car was kept in Naples Florida where my great aunt and uncle drove it in the summer. I thought I was the KING of the ROAD and apparently so did my teachers at my school. Calling my mom and telling her off that they are spoiling me. When I came home from school my mom was still upset and She told me she told off the school and let them know how many years I had already worked saving my own money for my own car. She said they didn’t believe her. No kid wants a car like this in school they said. The car had that huge Chrome Grill Surround with the Flying Goddess on top for a hood ornament. I traded it like a fool in 1980 for a brand new car that was total plastic and junk. Use to have 8 Track Tape Player and I installed a CB Radio with PA Speaker oh the good times all of us piled in and ripping up the city at night.

    10:15 I'd love to have a project car in this same model and year and to just joke about this with people who are all about wanting to be modern, just honk the horn around the corner and say to them: I have Cadillac! It's from 1972!

    Yeah get those seat belts up out of the way. Probably way safer in that Cad than any newer pill box death trap. "Best of All It's A Cadillac" Probably more dependable than my GM Duramax with the DEF/DPF emissions.

      My parents bought a new 1972 Fleetwood when I was a teenager. It was anything but dependable. Often wouldn't start in the morning. Stalled frequently. Started falling apart after a couple years. In 1980 my dad sold it to our plumber for $600. When it was new, though, it looked like a million bucks.

      Hi from Sydney, Australia. I'm a doctor and I own 2 a 1972 like this one in Cotillion white and "green ice" interior, and a 1974 in Sable black & "gold" (mustard) color interior. On september 7th this year I will have owned the black one for 41 years. Both are right hand drive, Ikea style "flat-pack" kit cars built at the GM factory in Pagewood in Sydney, as they needed to be compliant to Aussie legislation and RHD. There was some re-engineering to be sold here. However, they are beautifully made almost by hand here, in '74 we went metric my black one has 705,000 kms on its odometre, (that's 445,000miles) bought with 102,000. It looks like new & drives like new, Flawless. I'd owned it 10 odd years and a mate's nice old car was destroyed in an accident. I thought, if that happened to me what would I do, what would I be happy with, answer, another one. So the hunt was on & I found the '72 model when it was 19 years old and had a mere 17,000 miles on it, the elderly lady owner had died & husband hated it, he had a '72 Mercedes 350SL convertible. The '72 now has 133,000miles on it so way less than the black one.
      They are more reliable than any car I know of, heavy duty bullet proof real quality and then some. They have a unique V8 firing order like no other V8, also the old point style ignition in the 71 & 72's makes it sound like there are two 4cylinder engines running at 2 different settings when cold & warming up, my '72 is a factory dual exhaust car and it magnifies that strange idle sound when on choke & warming up just idling. Our Aussie ones had ZERO anti-pollution devices on them so they have muscle car performance, my '72 is an export spec 472ci engine. my '74 is an export spec 500ci engine which has the expensive more elaborate HEI electronic ignition not the basic electronic one like on '73 models, so the car has a different plenum on top of engine, different carby and different warmup system and sounds entirely different, like a smooth big inline 8-cylinder engine and because it is an ABS/traction control system car it has sensors on one side of back axle so not dual exhaust , instead after middle of car it has a factory 3" exhaust single system with a giant muffler under the back seat , and a smaller resonator under right side rear it has an obvious powerful engine sound when idling like some sort of fuel injected Euro engine.
      Re-safety , my black '74 model is one of the 10,231 cars built by GM from mid'73 to model end '76 with GM's early airbag system called ACRS (air cushion restraint system) wheel, dashtop & passengers' side. with so little uptake by 19.4 million customers over three & half years GM cancelled airbags until 1993.
      So yes you are safe, massive construction, airbags, 3180kilos of weight when empty, pretensioning seat belts too. Pure quality road fortresses. Sadly after July 1974 GM Holden Aust didn't make any factory RHD US type cars, as they made their own Holden Statesman Caprice a 17 odd foot long "baby" Caddy.

    • @mr.butterworth
      @mr.butterworth 17 дней назад

      They don’t, they’re normally very smooth and quiet. It’s just the ones you’re hearing need some work and/or a new exhaust.
