Metallica - Ride The Lightning (Bass & Drums only)

- The are plenty of "bass only" tracks with Cliff, but I though his bass sounds a bit lonely on them. So here are the bass and drums master tracks mixed together.
I think Lars' drumming here is excellent.
Its a shame the bass isn't a little louder on the album. Cliff throws some cool licks in there.
+Thelucidbohemian yeah people constantly write how his tone was wrong, boy they are wrong his tone is all you need to be heared, but not in case lars burries you deep down so his kick drum can be heared...all we need is metallica re release the albums with bass higher up in the mix(pure volume of the bass needs to enchance, and you could hear him well)
I always heard it on the album just fine.
LISTEN UP!
a bit too low, could be a tad bit louder so you can hear him well without having to listen close
I wish they were mixed the way early 80s Rush was. Then you could hear everyone pretty clear.
@@listenup7284 me too
2:33 Awesome drum fill
The bass kinda sounds like someone gurgling water
Or cleaning a window :D
It's where he is hitting the strings so hard
Cliff's bass sound like goodness. Listen kill'em all bass tracks. He was genius.
@@SergeyCoderov it's not the bass frequency we are talking about when we say that we want louder bass. It is the bass sound and tone in itself that we want to hear :)
best drum and bass song ever
That chorus riff is fucking amazing
i had no idea it sounded like that. such a shame you can barely hear it in the original mix
2:46 is cool bass fill. Cliff plays the slow part (guitar solo) very nicely.
00:00 - 00:19, 4:55 - 5:01 The only parts of the bass line that I can hear clearly on the album.
lol you are right
Wayner Machado Hear the fucking Isolated trakcs, the bass is fucking low
Wayner Machado it`s not but in the original version I feel that I`m "hearing" a keyboard or something it`s terribly low
It’s sad but true
I kinda hear the bass under the solo, but it was only after I heard the bass track like 10 times
I was singing it and it is awsome
Can't help but sing along lol
A little bit like Entwistle, isn't it? :)
Correct🙂👍
I'd really love to, but there are no master tracks for Ktulu. I can only do songs that were included on Metallica Guitar Hero.
It's so epic that even the bass guitar at 0:11 says "C'moon!" :D
Oh my god yeah 😅😂
Only by listening to bass & drums-only tracks like these you would be able to differentiate the different bass playing style by all 3 tallica's bassist (or 4 including Ron). The classical influence in Cliff was obvious especially in Orion. If you listen to Robs, theres a bit of funky groove in his style.
The intro sounds a little like Slayer - Skeletons of Society :3
Except, this was made 6 years before... :O
I've listened to the album on good headphones and I can hear the bass really well! Invest in some awesome speakers and revel in Cliff's glory!
Sounds like my stomach during random silent moments in class
Everytime when i hear this i want to play this on my bass !!
Sound like a videogame soundtrack jajaja
That bass during the solo is beautiful, RIP Cliff 🙏
Lars plays fierce like the lightning!!!!!!
more like thunder, but fierce indeed.
Simply amazing...
One thing that I've noticed is that the double bass drums that Lars play after the solo in the live performances of the song does not appear in the original album or at least, it's pretty low in the mix. Here's the same.
Great! I have always appreciate Cliff Burton's playing.
I like very much that he was not copying the rhythm guitar parts too much like other do and that he was doing his version instead. Great bassist!
I have started listening to Metallica just few months before his death, but when they came in Italy for the Master Of Puppets tour he sadly was already gone.
It has been a great concert, anyway, (Metal Church as opening band, in their original line up!), but I would have liked to see Cliff Burton. Jason Newsted has done great too, of course!
Greetings!
Thanks for a comment, brother. Cliff was very special!

Thanks to you for this great video!
if you put the speed on x2 sounds like a punk song
Danny Danny fuck you weaboo nerd, sex pistols’ are 10 times slower than this but still punk. Shut up if you don’t know what you’re talking about
@metalman2227 It was a lengthy process. On RUclips, you can find the individual master tracks for many Metallica songs (taken off Metallica Guitar Hero game). I used a sound-editing software to record those tracks and mix them together in any way I like. Then I saved the MP3, made a video in Windows Movie Maker, and uploaded it here. Voila!
@peik1976 its either lars or cliff havin fun or the bass make noises
There is one for that song on here somewhere. What a great bass track!
1.25x speed doe...
You sure did a great job no matter how you did it. Thank you. i love these bass and drum tracks...especially ones with Cliff. It's so nice to really hear him.
a song on it's own.
3:48
The drum seems like one of a videogame from Super Nintendo...
Cliff was an artist....like a master painter of old. Yes, there are imperfections in tone and performance...that's what makes it perfect in it's rawness. Early Metallica songs are works of art.
Cliff was a savant or genius and what you hear fits the f-ing song... And fits it more than perfectly !!
Hey, check out the new video of Call of Ktulu on my channel, it's got Cliff's bass boosted.
so tight and metric!! really awesome
greetings from Chile!
Crazy Bass 👀🔥
Lovely Video and Of course song
2:28
PERFECTION
The intro sounds even better.
@psychomatthias It wasn't stock here. He already had the secret pickup in long before Metallica.
Looks like a random hero movie theme, but its awesome
The Ox has to be a huge influence 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Bad Ass
@АлексейМельников
Tell that to Lemmy from Motörhead.
Or steve harris
Sounds THICK
it says not available in my country as it has content from umg :/
Why does it sound like there's a dog toy
@peik1976 It comes from Cliff's fingernails.
The most beautiful song ever
good vid for practise with my harmonizer ^^
where i can download an high quality mp3?
the best bass !!! and drums are good =)
4:51 got a little loose there. Good recovery!
Well-spotted!
Is there a track with vocal?
Alejandro Ramirez I have a "enhanced bass" version of this track, with vocals: ruclips.net/video/Nw7qEAo5K10/видео.html
maksphoto78 I actually found one, it might be the same one you are sharing
maksphoto78
ok, it's not the same one. I'll listen to it though
I prefer pick or finger bass players, but Cliff was still the best bass player Metallica ever had.
very god clff
@maksphoto78 oh awesome!
can you do the same with Ktulu?
how did you upload this
thanks for uploading :)
But still cool :)
i never hear a bass in metallica's songs
nice.
Nice!
this is awesome
cool!
thanks!
Amazing.
Freakin awesome!
Cliff the top! ♡
i think it is whoever mixed this or added to youtube did a bad job
because listen to four hoursemen kill em all stuff isolated track drum and bass..... way better mix
But this is a different album, with different production, and Cliff's bass sounds different here.
this is called clipping when whoever this is added it to RUclips .... makes the bass sound like shit and cuts off a lot of the tonality of the notes.
I only used the master bass track that I found here on RUclips. I didn't alter it in any way. That's pretty much how Cliff's bass sounded on this album. ruclips.net/video/jwpHpaUC1Hk/видео.html
Bass is farting
I kinda don’t like cliffs playing after listening to this.
the fuck is wrong with you
that's got to be the worst snare I've ever heard....
I think the worst snare I heard was on St Anger album.
maksphoto78 dam that snare is ROUGH...u might have got me there lmao
I tend to agree, but the snare on H...TS is so damn over-produced and triggered that I can´t get my ears from it. The best sound must be on Load/Re-load. Imho...
the sound of the pick😄
No, it's all fingers. Cliff never played with a pick.
The very distinct sound of overdriven roundwounds played with fingers, actually.
