  • We don’t know how the general election will turn out. But Lisa Nandy will likely play a significant role in British politics over the next decade.
One of the few northern MPs to retain her seat as Labour’s Red Wall crumbled in 2019, she argued that the party needed to “change or die” when she stood to be leader. She has since outlined how Britain could rethink its domestic and global agenda for the modern age in her book All In. With geopolitics increasingly affecting domestic politics, her work as Shadow Minister for International Development is helping to shape Labour’s new message.
Watch an evening with Lisa Nandy as we reflect on her political career, how Britain can heal the post-Brexit divisions and how a potential Labour Government would differ from the Conservatives in its approach to international development.

Lisa Nandy is a Brexiteer and hence I find it hard to take her seriously on her complaint about the difficulties people in her constituency are going through, if Brexit has proven to slash 4% of growth for many years to come. Lisa Nandy is a Corbynista who puts her own believes above the wellbeing of her constituents. Not exactly what the UK needs right now.

It is loss of faith in democracy in the UK which is destroying belief in politics, that disconnect between 'real' people and manipulators began a long time ago. If that is all Lisa has to offer by way of honesty, her 'significant role' will remain as a sidenote to British history...

I think trust went for many after delaying brexit. Many lost trust when we were taken into a political union and lied about its true nature.

I accept that the tories have had there day but the thought of a Labour Party running the country with people on the shadow front bench does not give me any confidence that things are going to get better and the unions in the back ground pulling the strings

Regarding erosion of trust in British politics, surely Blair got there first.
