For Raven Guard, I think the only changes that need to be made are to the Praetors. Capes and trinkets don't exactly lend themselves to stealth. Otherwise, the large abundance of beakies makes me happy as a Son of Corax.
"Capes don't lend themselves to stealth..."
[Batman has entered the conversation] 🦇
@@lonelystrategos cape seem optional. In White Scar article praetor did not done cape.
Nah, raven guard commander's are still pretty fancy boys
Lord of the rings elven cloaks lol
“Capes and trinkets don’t exactly lend themselves to stealth”
Neither does power armor, jet packs, and guns that shoot soda can sized projectiles
For World Eaters, I would have swapped the Beakie helmets for MK7 helmets. Official art from the Horus Herasy books shows World Eaters wearing the iconic angry vox grills.
Pretty sure the official art has them in mk v Heresy armor. Mk v has the famous grill, but mk vii came about after the heresy.
World Eaters are most often depicted in mk ii, mkiii, mkiv, and especially in mk v.
@@RexTMichaelson A lot have a specific Sarum grill. World Eaters heads look different to a lot of other MKV (OG CSM skull head, FW nose plate head, and that armour through the ages metal one)
@@RexTMichaelson the world eaters wear the special Sarum Pattern Respirator, which looks a lot like the MK7 angry face, except even angrier
Yes! So happy you got the World Eaters. They are by far my favorite chapter and you did them justice!
Hell yeah brother, Khorne bros forever
Can you make video like this for every legion? Obviously not with the entire box set per legion, just one legion tactical marine and a painting tutorial... This would be amazing
GW sent loads of people a box with a specific legion requested.
@@oliverp3545 I know, but when the 20 man tactical box come out Pete could get 1 and make a model for all of the 20 (inquisitorial anger intensifies) erhm I mean 18 Legions and have 2 to spare
@@lonelystrategos he pretty much did. This is my favorite series he has done so far.
Amniotically Tanked does HH painting tutorials if you're interested
I think the main Warhammer channel is doing them all in numerical order. They are currently on the Iron Hands I believe.
A rylanor kitbash with the new contemptor model would be cool
You "assembled" a good argument for me to do a WE army. I love their color scheme and legion iconography. I should really do a Loyalist army first to go with my NL and SOH army though lol. I'll probably wind up doing a army for most of the Legions though if this box set hangs around for a long time which it should. Thank you for sharing.
Really nice video! The shade of white and all those little blood and weathering effects are next level. These were a joy to watch at the Open Day :)
Loved this breakdown of the box and your process from start to finish. Looking forward to the painting next
i am so hyped for these new plastic hh minis. you did such a awesome job!
As someone who is starting world eaters for the new HH, this is perfect
so excited to play as either WE or SoH
Just wanted to say thanks for the tip on the shoulder pads, just finished building my entire HH box, the "sprue-glue method" really made a better job of the shoulders than regular glue. Now onto the painting... With sub-assemblies ofc
Thank you , Pete .
🐺
I recently bought he Age of Darkness set and it's nothing short of a great kit. I'm going to go through it all (eventually) to create a close image of my homebrew legion. Trying to get my hands on some greenstuff and skulls.
Man I really want to get back into painting, I’ve been in the hobby for 17 years following the lore and reading novels but not painted in a very long time. Seems so intimidating given the level of painting you see these days!
Keen to see the paint jobs! The little customisations make all the difference
Just wanted to say thanks on showing that bit where you smoothed out the circle plate on the chest I wouldn't have thought to do that and now my alpha legion praetor looks much more suitable for it
Looks good. I'm looking forward to all of the Night Lord conversions people are going to be making. Not just between CSM and HH plastic bits, but also with Dead Animal Bits, lol.
dead animal bits
vrom real animals?
@@therealwinston3634 I thought that part was a given. Wait, do you guys use plastic bits?
Thanks ! I wanted to start WE for the new edition and I think I'll get some inspiration from here !
I just need to find a way to transform those tactical marine into assault marine in a not too expensive way ^^'
GW sent a box to 20 RUclips creators and each is assigned a legion. The army is then shipped back to Warhammer World for displ
That paint scheme looks great
excellent, and with the music behind that make it even more better.
I hope you're saving that sword for a conversion down the line cause it's easily one of the coolest swords from a kit in recent memory.
This fills me with unparalleled rage, well done!!!
Looking forward to the painting vid! Trying to decide what Legion to do and WE are certainly in the running!
I have been thinking about what Legion I would want to paint. And I thank you for this because you reminded me of my favorite one. The Dornian Heresy World Eaters.
This is really inspirational and gets the hobby juices nicely flowing while we wait to get our hands on the kit a well! The paintjob looks great as well and that weathering looks exactly like what I'd like to do on my own upcoming legion. I'm looking forward to a painting tutorial, which surely is upcoming?
I am happy they updated the Models from the Heresy line. glad you did this my friend
Me too!
Hi Pete, I see you angle the sprue glue around to get the little brush down in it. Just to let you know, if you don't already know, the little brush can be extended/pulled out so you don't need to do the angel thing.
Cheers
This is what I was originally planned for the Betrayal at Calth box … looks so good
Some of the best looking Space Marine models GW has put out. wish I was 13 again.
Why does it matter what age you are? Just go buy some and relive those memories but with greater knowledge and patience.
@@benswindells1364 back when I had the time and disposable income to throw at a hobby like this. Days i could throw at going to a shop and playing. Things change as you get deeper into adulthood.
Can't wait to see your tutorial video on painting !!!!!!!!!
Yep. Definitely painting my mark iii that i bought the other day as world eaters. Hope that your painting guide is somewhat beginner friendly for people who don't own an airbrush :D
I'll be looking forward to the painting video. While I'm already committed to go yellow for this box, I am looking forward to the upcoming WE range update and if I start a new army, then I'm tempted to paint them in white, blue and red.
Uuugh this is going to make me get back into this hobby. Very good job
This vid confirms World Eaters stuff for me
I loved your praetor. I'm personally not a fan at all of the base model, but I really liked what you did with it.
The Wargamer lives! Our lord and saviour lives!!
Damn. They look so good. Can't wait for the painting tutorial!
I know that kitbashing is kinda the main thing on your channel, but your painting is just as amazing, congrats!
All the kits look pretty dang nice. I'm especially stoked about the potential that we might see a Land Raider Proteus kit based on how the Spartan pieces are laid out on the sprues.
Interesting tidbit, some of the sprues are marked as "Land Raider" and some are marked with "Spartan". Combine that with the fact you can build the sponson weapons as dual rather than quad lascannons and it's all but guaranteed that we will be getting a Proteus at some point.
Awwwwww my Eaters! Stunning! 🔥😍
This is a cool video and a cool army, but there's an easier, less-risky way to deal with the studded shoulderpads. Assemble them with your usual plastic glue, then paint the shoulderpad seam with a brush varnish before you apply any other paint, including primer. (Don't use an airbrush, that generally doesn't get the correct seal.) This is a good technique to deal with any similar small gap, once you get the hang of it. It works on any type of model, not just plastic, and doesn't risk permanent damage the way "sprue goo" can.
Excellent! I love the world eaters. When (if) I finish my black templars I'd like to do a 40k WE army in their old colours.
Great work. I’m looking forward to the new kits, I think I’ll finally paint one marine for each of the Legions in one of the old armour marks. I don’t really play, I’m just here to paint!
Great video! This is the first time I've seen what comes in the box, so if it's still around after a while, I may decide to pick one up when it comes time to start my 40K Homebrew force. It's based on a mix of my own 11th Legion lore and World Eaters play style, so the old look like this would be perfect.
the box is intented to be a semi-permanent starter kit
would you recommend green stuff tubing to help sell the butchers' nails on the bare head options?
Very nice look at the awesome box set. And while I'm not going 12th Legion I will be taking tips from here for my 7th.
love this content but idk if it is possible to do a bit more painting because id love to see the steps you made to creat those world eaters
You mean, like this 😉 ruclips.net/video/eu1oHFt27Bo/видео.html
This was awesome dude hopefully you do a Night Lords video soon
Great video thanks for sharing 👍nice job on the minis👍
Absolutely stunning lad 👌👌👌
Thank you kindly
I was surprised you didn't go with wrist jewelry chain wraps on at least the sergeants and praetors.
They look fantastic!
Those dudes look very cool.
Very nice conversions. Due to the vagaries of the Forgeworld site the helmets are out of stock.
The sprue glue is something I've never thought of or heard of before but damn it's a really obvious thing to do lol
Honour and Glory Petey
this box is going to be a joy to split
The moment you said "hot and soapy water", my mind IMMEDIATELY went to one of the Donald Donaldson bits from Fonejacker. "You like it hot and soapy don't you?!?!?" 😂😂😂
OMG Yes the world eaters of Pete
Issues with mk VI aside, your work was amazing as always.
Yeah. Ngl I don't quite like Mk.6
@@argokarrus2731 no one did except Corax.
I love the Mk VI but, luckily, my favorite Loyalist Legion is Raven Guard. LESS luckily is that my favorite Legion OVERALL is Night Lords... and Night Lords definitely don't strike me as an All Beaky Helmets Legion at any point in the Great Crusade.. I like the Beaky helmet in other legions as well, but not for the ENTIRE legion.
@@veliustactics9133 yep. My favorite legion is the Iron Warriors followed by Salamanders. Neither seem the type for Beakies, ESPECIALLY not Perturabo
@@argokarrus2731 Luckily for Iron Warriors, the Mk III already exists in plastic, but that won't help you if you wanna get this box set for the Plastic Spartan and new posable Plastic Contemptor.
For Salamanders... unfortunately there isn't such a simple solution.
It'd be nice if GW made some WE specific character heads. I know they've got mk vi and two mk ii head upgrades, but It'd be nice if there was just a kit of bare WE heads for those sweet sweet butcher’s nails
honestly im looking foward to this set, im either gonna add them to my Alpha legion since i have the 3 dreadnoughts in their colours already and i do so love the XXth or start a dark angels force
Oh hell yeah
I’m working on a little game that’s just a big boss fight against a mech with three legs on wheels
I’ve been stuck on the design for it though, and I think this just gave me the inspiration I needed
Ah yes .. the World Eaters .. Khorne's rebound relationship when he couldn't seal the deal with the Blood Angerls XD
Can you convert some mark 4 marines to work better with the weapon upgrades
I like that you refer to their helms as Bunny ears and not Demon Horns.
Great video as usual, looking forward to more HH content!
With those 2 part shoulder pads in mind, is there a quick walk through to make your own "sprue glue"?
Can`t wait for the next part!
Great stuff!
Looks Awesome man!👍
Amazing work. I love how you did the praetor. Are you going to do other kits outside of the age of darkness box?
Love this. Great job
Will you be doing a painting guide for these chaps as well?
How do you paint black skin? It looked so good!
I hope you get a chance to add assault squads to your WE
Have you thought of kitbashing red scorpions or necron pirates?
Paint guide pleeeeeease Pete!!
Wonder if I should start playing HH
i will need alot of greenstuff since i'm going to be doing Space Wolves
Another great video Pete, and a lovely job you've done. However like many I just can't buy World Eaters in MkVI. Raven Guard, Alpha Legion, White Scars perhaps, but not Angron's boys. I know GW have done a little light retconning with regards to the general availability of Mark VI for the traitor legions, but the idea of Kharn & Co running around in armour that was more stealth orientated than any mark before it gives me the giggles. It's a testament to your skill that you made them look this good to me even as the screaming voices in my head howled "HERESY!!!"
It'll be interesting to see if anyone tries putting the Iron Warriors in MkVI, even though it's pretty well established that Perturabo thought that Corvus armour was sh*t .
I eagerly await your next video.
Will you be uploading a video of how you painted your primarch for the event? I've only seen it in background shots so far but it looked awesome!
Yep! It might be a few more weeks but it will definitely be on the channel.
Angron wore a cape of chainmail, any tutorial to add something like to space marines maybe?
I've been looking for wire exactly like that. Any ideas of what I could use to search for that exact type of wire?
Thanks!
Have a look for 1mm steel florist wire. Some craft wires can be a bit too flexible but I've found florist wire to be pretty strong
@@PeteTheWargamer Awesome, Thanks!
👍 Awesome. My Favorite Legion.
Can't wait for the Spartan and dreadnought.
I genuinely can't explain why, I know why, but I can't articulate it, but the world eaters are my favorite legion.
Awesome work
Thanks a lot 😊
Any suggestions on changes I could make for Dark Angels? I am new to Horus Heresy and I really like the Dark Angels aesthetic.
Check back this weekend 😉
Not only would the Cataphractii Hand have been too big, it also would've been a left hand on the right arm :p
I'm not a wargamer, but I love painting miniatures and models, and I'm considering getting a McFarlane toys space Marine action figure to customize
Wow. This is epic.
Are those regular land raider doors for the spartan
Someone I know put magnets in the arms and shoulders of the dreadnaught so they could change the weapons around and change the pose
Stunning paint job. Can't wait to see the process! What soundtrack was at the credits by the way?
Engelbert Humperdinck
You should do a 40k Luna wolves, I know it’s not lore friendly but could be cool
I've done 40k War Hounds so it's not too out of character for me!
Your sanding sticks are probably getting clogged instead of worn down. You can use rubber to clean them out. There are specific blocks you can buy from woodworking supplies. One should last you a long time especially if you only use it for the tiny sanding sticks. Just search for “unclog sandpaper” and that should put you onto the right products.
When do you add in the Berserkers and Bloodletters?
Looks awesome! I am curious though about a different kitbash. Do you suppose it would be possible to create Krieg Death Riders starting out with either Victrix French Napoleonic Imperial Guard Lancers, or perhaps Warlord games Napoleonic French Line Lancers?
I already play Dark Angels and Black Legion (painted like Luna Wolves) in 40k, now I must determine whether I just extend those legions into 30k or do I start a wholly unique force
