Always nice to see the Iron Warriors getting some love... bc that's the only thing they ever wanted... just a pat on the back. Iron within, Iron without!
Really could have solved the whole problem if each Iron Warrior was assigned their own emotional-support Salamander. The strongest hugs available in the Imperium.
Some bonding studs on the right side of the shield could have nicely echoed the chest armour. The finished mini is very impressive, as ever. Dry-brushing dark brown in to the shadows is a neat idea.
So if never played nor built a miniture until the other week, iv watched a TON of these videos and in turn my first 2 minis are 40k kitbases of Phobo's kill team into a Emporers children themes space marines. These videos helped so much for technique and ideas. Great work as always!
Nice, there's not really wrong ideas in this hobby, especially if you put real effort into the execution. Conversions; kit bashes, a good scratch built proxy or pretty much anything made with a bit of passion, all these things are worth more in my eyes than anything adhering to standard construction and painting conventions, or the instructions.
Some people say the Iron Warriors would never use Mk VI armor because Perty objected to it when it was being tested during the Crusade. For my money though there's nothing more appropriate for a son of Olympia than having something you hate, something that makes you unspeakably miserable, then doing it anyway. Bitterly. Anyway, great work on that build.
Iron Within, brother! You've illustrated something we haven't really seen and goes perfectly with the Legion's background. I'd love to see more of the Ivth Legion!
Damn man, warhammer + should give you a show, your conversions are so sick.. Literally you are probably one of the best at it, I'd say there's only a handful of guys at your level..👏
I understand that not much would need to change, but would you be interested in making loyalist Iron warriors kitbash? Or mixing their aesthetic with that of another legion, say whitescars or Ultramarines.
You’ve warmed this Iron Warriors’ bitter, bitter heart 😂 Would you consider giving Gaunt’s Ghosts a try? I’d love to see what you’d come up with for the Tanith Pipes! I’ve always pictured them as Northumbrian or modified Uilleann pipes
As a Fist fan I always get humbled seeing your work. That being said, excellent work as always! I have a suggestion, though: it would be really cool to see you do a kitbash for Archamus, master of the Huscarls, the personal guard of Rogal Dorn. I’d love to see what you do to make a character like him.
Very envious of the freehand stripes (and an excellent paintjob in general as always) - I can never do the stripes even with masking, so amazing seeing it done and look so effortless 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
What problems are you having with masking exactly? Only learnt how to do it myself the other day by pre-cutting the tape into 1-2mm strips using two rulers, seams pretty foolproof, if not a bit tedious
Wow what a great scheme. The contrast of the blue and brown is awesome. I think one thing that could avoid you having to glaze down the metallics many times would be to use vallejo true metal color magnesium instead of the silver, since that color is darker and has some blue in it already
Love this fresh take on the IV legion, they like they are in the lore always seem forgotten and unappreciated even though they have so much more unique model potential in my opinion.
Thank you for your videos @PeteTheWargamer, your Tomb Kings conversion was a major inspiration for my own army. Might I ask that you do a Night Lords Horus Heresy kit bash next?
As he has been going in order of legion number, next will be White Scars, Space Wolves, Imperial Fists, and then Night Lords Depending on how quick he is in rate of upload and other projects in between, we could be waiting a few months for his next Heresy build
It is missing the decals and stripes on the shoulder big time. Looks amazing, I would have just swapped disgusting mk6 backpack for mk3 and it would have been 10/10. Great video!
What a powerful paint job for this Iron Warrior!! I may be an Imperial Fist player but I can respect a good Iron Warrior when I see one. Makes them more fun to crush haha. Can’t wait to see the next one!
This is an awesome conversion, and paint job. To be honest this would work perfectly for an Iron Hands marine (minus the hazard strips) as well. Hope that you have happy holidays ahead.
I'm loving this and am curious as to the best way to go about making a similar conversion with one of the Praetors from the Starter set. Perhaps as a Siege Chaplain or Champion.
Your battle damage painting skills are beyond adept. Honestly more convincing then some real battle damage ive seen on tanks. Crazy. Keep up the great work!
Excellent conversion! I liked the idea of giving the IW a Greek feel, gives them a little more personality. Have you seen ebay minature rescues latest vid? Could be the nice basis for deamon prince fulgrim.....
Double-dog dare physical challenge for you Pete! When it comes time to do the Space Wolf Legion, you can't use any parts from any 40k Space Wolf kit or character! Lets see what you come up with!
Aaaah, see I really love the idea of Phalanx Marines, either in IW or WE being both Greek-based, but I also love the notion that Perturabo is marked by a general resentment of Olympia and its backwards (to him) culture. Like, on the one hand I feel them wanting to strip all that Greek-inspired ornamentation off - forget about spears. But on the other hand, we see references and nods to Olympian culture in his architecture, and as for melee weapons, while swords are more versatile over rugged terrain, I imagine a spear would be pretty decent defending a breach, at least having an initial phalanx formation with equipped swords when the spears break, and like a gunline behind them. Maybe this guy was shunned off to man a fortress as punishment on some backwater world with a discontent population.
Great stuff as usual Pete! Can you do a quick video on how to keep Drybrushes clean(ish)? I really struggle with that with mine and haven't found a satisfactory video for keeping them usable! Keep up the great work (also build me an army please) Happy Christmas!

I love that Pete can go "Yeah heres a marine and heres some random bits and now its the coolest Marine you've ever seen" Every. Damn. Time.
Oh no, you've cursed it. Now my next video will be so terrible that GW will have to make an official statement.
“Pete’s last video made us sad so we’ve sent him a small truckload of kits to make sure he’s never short of bits again”. - GW probably
PRECISELY
IRON WITHIN, IRON Without a doubt one of the best channels for kitbashes. Great job once again!
The best and biggest
Iron within, iron without a doubt. Love that
Thank you very much :D
This guy is the chaos god of kitbash
Always nice to see the Iron Warriors getting some love... bc that's the only thing they ever wanted... just a pat on the back. Iron within, Iron without!
IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT BROTHER!
Really could have solved the whole problem if each Iron Warrior was assigned their own emotional-support Salamander. The strongest hugs available in the Imperium.
@@Lamefoureyes exactly. Horus wouldn't have even made it near the solar system.
Stay strong brother, stay strong 😢 😂
> iron within
> constantly crying over a lack of validation
Man firstborn marines just look so much cooler than primaris, and it really shows in these newer HH kits. Great conversion!
Some bonding studs on the right side of the shield could have nicely echoed the chest armour.
The finished mini is very impressive, as ever. Dry-brushing dark brown in to the shadows is a neat idea.

Sounds cool, though if you’re going for lore accuracy the Emperor’s Children are chaos space marines
@Mikey L primaris have gone renegade, why not chaos?
@@MLiskindagay ya I know that, i read into the lore but i there 30k perfect look :p

The footage, editing, and narration were awesome. No wasted time, very deliberate and thorough, and a great end result
WHOO!
IRON WITHIN!
IRON WITHOUT!
Easily me favorite legion, period. Thanks for this guide!
Damn man, warhammer + should give you a show, your conversions are so sick.. Literally you are probably one of the best at it, I'd say there's only a handful of guys at your level..👏
I like the paintjob, its a bit more painterly rather than literal. It suggests iron, rather than being iron. Very cool
These new, more realistic paint jobs are really incredible to see!

Yes someone actually made a greek influenced iron warrior
I understand that not much would need to change, but would you be interested in making loyalist Iron warriors kitbash? Or mixing their aesthetic with that of another legion, say whitescars or Ultramarines.
I wanted to do this exact thing for UM Praetorian Breachers so now I have a great guide.
Been thinking about starting an Iron Warriors Army. This video has been really helpful!
Stunning conversion work as ever.
Not sure on the paint job though, looks more like a heavily worn Night Lord than an Iron warrior
I was thinking iron hands with the dark armor
Excited for when you reach the 8th legion, because your work is always absolutely top tier
You’ve warmed this Iron Warriors’ bitter, bitter heart 😂
Would you consider giving Gaunt’s Ghosts a try? I’d love to see what you’d come up with for the Tanith Pipes! I’ve always pictured them as Northumbrian or modified Uilleann pipes
I like the realistic look of your model. That wear and tear looks really good and provides a more immersive experience.
As a Fist fan I always get humbled seeing your work. That being said, excellent work as always! An incredible recipe for iron warriors that doesn’t just lean on base Metallics. Love the grim gritty scheme.
Beautiful execution, but with that shade of Cold Corpse Blue and the metallic effect, I was half expecting the shield to get a hydra motif 😉
@@AshleyBlackwater everything! Used 2mm masking tape, started with a yellow base and painted the stripes black. everything! 🙂
I'm still amazed at how you manage to make two parts from COMPLETELY Different Series fit without issues.
Wow what a great scheme. The contrast of the blue and brown is awesome. I think one thing that could avoid you having to glaze down the metallics many times would be to use vallejo true metal color magnesium instead of the silver, since that color is darker and has some blue in it already
would love to see more conversions done with the mk 6 kit, I have a box of darkness set to arrive in the new year and am hungry for ideas
Love this fresh take on the IV legion, they like they are in the lore always seem forgotten and unappreciated even though they have so much more unique model potential in my opinion.
Thanks for making this! I like the different color approach you took.
You and Valrak need to have a game some day. Would love to see an iron warriors army of yours against his imperial fist.
Wow, that's a cool technique for metal armour... I'll try this at some point. I think you have really been killing it lately 😲
This is the coolest iron warriors model I've ever seen
Really cool showcase of how to make an understated metallic paintjob with "only" a little bit of silver paint. Sometimes less is more!!
When i saw the thumbnail I got excited and haven't even Sean what you did
This was really good. Love the blue on the metal. Very subtle
"They don't serve the Dark Gods because they like them
They serve them because *fuck you* "
- Bricky
I'm about to start a Heresy Era Iron Warriors Army for HH so this was perfect timing
Love the idea of there home world being Greek like and the stormcast kits really show this off
Well Done!!!!
10/10 Kitbash, I’m definitely using this as inspiration for my next couple figures
Thank you for your videos @PeteTheWargamer, your Tomb Kings conversion was a major inspiration for my own army. Might I ask that you do a Night Lords Horus Heresy kit bash next?

Another amazing conversion! Thank you for this video 👍
My pleasure! It was made all the more easier by your clippers and wet palette :)
i cant wait to see the word bearer and night lord. fantastic job
I was thinking about this series just yesterday! Glad to see you’re carrying on with it!
Pete does more plastic cutting
My words on the final reveal "that looks fucking great"
That's a very unique take on the iron warrior's paint scheme
I'd love to see you tackle some more in depth kitbashing with them to make a few blackshields! Or maybe the mix-and-match armor of the Astral Claws
It is missing the decals and stripes on the shoulder big time. Looks amazing, I would have just swapped disgusting mk6 backpack for mk3 and it would have been 10/10. Great video!
I know i'm late but Mk2 or 3 legs would have looked way cooler too!
What a powerful paint job for this Iron Warrior!! I may be an Imperial Fist player but I can respect a good Iron Warrior when I see one. Makes them more fun to crush haha.
Can’t wait to see the next one!
Thank you kindly!
I have watched this three times! Love this model!!
Nice of him to think about safety with those hazard stripes
I would LOVE an Iskandar Khayon kitbash! Videos of bringing great characters that don't have models into the game would be awesome!
I've said it before I'll say it again: *WHERE DID THAT INTRO MUSIC GO?* It was so iconic!
This is an awesome conversion, and paint job.
To be honest this would work perfectly for an Iron Hands marine (minus the hazard strips) as well.
Hope that you have happy holidays ahead.
Another awesome video, love the work and tips you give. Can't wait for the next one.
You can really unleash your creativity with Iron Warriors
i am absolutely in love with this conversion and paintjob. It looks so amazing!!!!
hands down, one of your best paint jobs! Awesome video as laways
He’s so god damn awesome. What a great job!
Now that is what an iron warrior should look like
You really need to try making our lord and savior Peter Turbo as a daemon prince there is so much room for improvisation!
👏👏👏 Fantastic work Pete, as always
Glad you enjoyed it
I like the wallet chain
Nu-Metal within, Nu-Metal without
Thank you, Maestro. Beautiful.
This is the best one so far.
A muddy base would have been a little more thematic I think. Woulda been cool to see how you’d layer on mud to the model as well.
With the brown underside, I almost thought you were going for a chrome effect. It would be cool to see how you would tackle that in the future.
Ahh I got mentioned as a supporter, thats cool. Great video Pete.
I'm loving this and am curious as to the best way to go about making a similar conversion with one of the Praetors from the Starter set. Perhaps as a Siege Chaplain or Champion.
Love how rugged this dude looks
glad you did an iron Warrior for the HH setting
Idea for a kitbash. Neccromunda Brat gang. You could do some of the gangs that GW do not do for the new release of the game. Ratskins, and scaarves
Love it! Also would love to see how would you make death guard marine from MK6 since their standard estethic is far from this kit
Cheers!
Ah finally Chapter Master Valrak favorite legion.
How about showing us a full unit conversion for a squad! I'd love to see the rest of the squad done like this
Your battle damage painting skills are beyond adept.
Honestly more convincing then some real battle damage ive seen on tanks.
Crazy.
Keep up the great work!
nice, was worried the Heresy Legion conversions weren't going to continue, now I can go back to waiting for the Salamanders, lol
Great seeing more Heresy content!
Excellent! Love the armor color.
this video got a instant sub from me, your video popped up in my recommended, great info and tips and a awesome model
Amazing Kitbash! Iron within! Iron without!
You have my approval, good job!
Excellent conversion! I liked the idea of giving the IW a Greek feel, gives them a little more personality.
Have you seen ebay minature rescues latest vid?
Could be the nice basis for deamon prince fulgrim.....
Thanks for posting, I enjoyed it!
Hell yeah, new kitbash video 🔥
U can't imagine how I'm waiting for a death guard video😅 Roy wanna see what you do for the big reaper😊 but awesome video, cheers
Love your kit bashes definitely want too apply this but probably will start big with a hg gundam kit first as apposed too small scale .
Double-dog dare physical challenge for you Pete! When it comes time to do the Space Wolf Legion, you can't use any parts from any 40k Space Wolf kit or character! Lets see what you come up with!
Am more or less new to 40k and I think I'm gonna go with Iron Warriors just because of the old industrial and strong presence they give
IRON WITHIN! IRON WITHOUT! Through the slow trudge of time, IRON PREVAILS!
Aaaah, see I really love the idea of Phalanx Marines, either in IW or WE being both Greek-based, but I also love the notion that Perturabo is marked by a general resentment of Olympia and its backwards (to him) culture. Been looking forward to this , good show m8
A mark 6 iron warrior feels a bit strange, but this came out really nicely!
Could use the bronze/gold trim on the pads and shield maybe?
Love this scheme. Iron within iron without
If you want to make the Iron Warrior grumpier, you should have given the dude a dwarven beard.
At this point we should just call you Pete the Warmaster
I love the more Grecian aesthetic. That's how I'm making my Iron Warriors
Nice work, realy good Idea with the lance. For my taste that does not fit the Iron Wartiors because it is to hounorbel and not cold reason
