@@boop9430 I have yes they are lmao… concubines is an elevated term for mistresses. The emperor only had one legal wife the empress the rest of them wasn’t.. that’s why their children weren’t above the empress. You need to research.

How do they not understand a simple to understand concept like this show? It's not hard to get, anyone with some common sense can put things together.

请不要误导老外，中国古代皇帝杀人也不是想杀就能杀的，更别说皇后了，中国的礼法制度很好的制约了皇权，皇帝杀人也要名正言顺才行。这样的电视剧更历史毫无关系。
而且杀人都很有目的性好吗？不择手段和滥杀无辜还是有区别的
明清时代倒不至于想杀就杀，但是还是有很大的权力。

刘瑞林 明清都没啥区别，从明朝伊始，皇帝就成为唯一决策者，官员则成为执行者，清随明制，这不过随着时间推移皇权逐步加强而已。况且清朝中“奴”的含义和“奴隶”是有差别，其源于满语包衣阿哈，“奴才”的地位在清朝是比“臣”更高的，因为只有满族官员才能称“奴才”

The english version of this show is absolutely misleading. The subtitles and plot summaries are not all translated accurately, many important points are left out, and it's so short there's no point to it. The original version is very long, but watchers can understand the suffering. This 6 episode crap makes no sense.
I saw that one first, learned it was boiled down from a much longer series and went looking for it. So glad I did.😁
I shocked because of "mistress"...Bad explanation as well...You 'd better know some background information before watching Chinese drama, especially the one relating to Chinese history (even though it is not 100% real)
Legend of Zhen Huan is a lot better than game of thrones. GoT is only good at the beginning but zhen huan is great all through out.
Unpopular opinion. I hate Legend of Zhen Huan. It was so frustrating.
I like how the girl point out that the lady is okay with the mistresses as if it doesn’t exist in the old days in most part of the world she thinks the kings in the old days have just one wife and says interesting 😛 how ignorant can you get !

As a British person and a huge fan of these shows, that was a bit painful to watch.😂 Oh well, I guess I had to start somewhere too. It was a fascinating rabbit hole when I started learning about the forbidden palace.

...they r not mistresses....they r all the Emporer's wifes....there r basically only 2 queens.....about others, they have different classes and titles...
Technically there's only one Queen. Like only one person can be "queen" at the same time, and everyone are just consorts who have varied ranks depending on their contributions or their deeds. Like if you were able to give birth to an imperial child, you'd have a higher rank. If you're "favored" by the Emperor, like a lot, then you would also have a higher rank. If your family contributed a lot to the kingdom or to the Emperor, then your rank would be high.

Guys. Are you for real? First of all the harem girls were selected when they came at age in which case it means from the age of 15 + Secondly there's was no king but Emperor and The Emperor did not have Mistresses but Concubines that gradually became Consorts if they had a chance to bare a child, but mostly it depended on their family background. Also whoever uploaded the Episodes should have translated the whole series and not until episode 46 and from 47 to the end with no subtitles. Also I think the Series title Empress in the Palace is wrong. But most and Paramount, before deciding in doing a video and posting it on You Tube, make sure you know Chinese Hystory and get all your facts straight. I hope you guys are not in the Intrateinemet Industry, because as a Professional Actor I would be shame working with you.

If you are interested, i would to advise you watch the original version with subtitles( 76 episodes )you can find it in youtube. If you watch the version that been cut, you may miss a lot details and cannot catch the plot easily.

The summary of this drama series is:
Lu Zhao Yao went through life living ostentatiously in every way possible. She lived her entire demon life in a loud and brazen manner, reigning over legions of demons, and yet--just before she was about to retrieve the sword of the ancient demon king and rightfully claim her spot on the throne--she died.
In the most quiet and unobtrusive manner possible. How? By accident.
