I have an RC505 and the Slicer is one of the FX in it that I didn't have.... Love it. Really useful for adding rhythmic variation... now I need to go drop a pad on it to slice up.👍👍
One minute and forty two minutes into this and already I am traveling through worm holes and exploring alternate realities 🤯🤣 If I get this duo you might never see me or another effect pedal that I build up for sale, I will be happily holed away in my studio making endless sounds of psychedelic delight!🤣👍🤙🖖
The Boss GT 001 is an absolute gem hiding in plain sight (it is the desktop version of the GT 100) and has most of the Boss pedal line in it, all the usual subjects as well as the more unusual ones such as the Slicer, Tera Echo, Space Echo, Multi Overtone etc. all at the secondhand cost of less than just one Boss pedal, Ebay currently has one at £80! With respect to this video the GT 001 has both the slicer and the sound hold function and all for under £100 a steal at these prices.
Really cool, I would add another option which I do, without detracting from your video of course, I have a pedal based on the Electric Mistress Flanger, and when I put it to oscillate and leave it in filter matrix mode (without modulation, or LFO) it emits a constant noise that allows you to change the note through the regen, and then I add the slicer later, it is another interesting option if you have the Electric Mistress or some copy of it.
@@spaceman103 Indeed! And it gets expensive very easy, either with a pricey chonky synth or buying little things and combining them, the money flies anyway
I have a Superego+ and was thinking about getting an slicer to pair with it 👍🏼 do you run your slicer through the effects loop? Or just right after the Superego
@@KyleLoudenslagel Both ways I tried. If you put the slicer on the fx loop, you can only use it when the Superego is engaged. You have to see what is best for you. For now, I putted the Slicer at the endo of my chain for a killer Harmonic Tremolo also.
It sounds cool, but I'm not clear on how this is working. I always thought that Infinite was just a sustain pedal, but is it a looper too? I'm not clear what the infinite is doing to the Slicer sound.
That's pretty gangster to bypass most of the functionality of a granular pedal and turn it into a sketchy arp. That's about what it sounds like if you're just scrolling through arp types on the Roland J-6. Or if you plugged a Launchkey into any synth and turned on the arp and held down a key and just doodled around with the arp settings. Except you could also play a chord and have it ... uhh ... arpeggiate it!
I ran my synth into this pedal. Then into the ehx oceans 11….. It’s definitely fun to play with, similar fun can be had with the terra echo if you hold the button down.
You can have a lot of fun with the SL. A Boss SY 1 in front of it and a reverb and delay behind it and you can completely lose yourself in a single note.
@@onlyusernameleft2 check u tube. I saw there something. It will be more a work around but it should work as an editor. I am delighted to get one sooner or later. N joy the party 🥳
@@Hard.Clipping I rearranged my pedalboard to make room for the SL-2 and spent some time playing around with the patterns. Now I need to make room for the Tri Parallel mixer, a looper or both or I won't be able to play over them like a backing track.
This can also be achieved with a tc delay at max feedback, it glitches in a way like this. So much I think infinite is basically a delay pedal on the inside I have the flashback x4 and the flashback 2 and they’re just wonderful delay pedals I can see the slicer doing great things with delays.
All those knobs need to be able to receive CC data via Bluetooth. If someone could make a touch reactive film that you can attach to a scratch plate of a guitar, you could slide your finger over to tweak it if it transmitted via Bluetooth.
I have one of those old digitech rp artist preset peddles and ya can do shit like this if ya fuck with it and I had one of these lil echoes still going on it from middle school….. I’m in my thirties now lol
You may as well pick up a synth or keyboard if this is your aim. Because hitting a guitar note then bending down to tweak knobs at 180+ BPM renders you less a guitar player and more like a deejay in function and sound.
It comes from the joke among some guitarist that she is not a great guitar player so in this setup she is happy that she dont need to touach a guitar a lot 😁 maybe its too complex 🙄
I own the slicer and I'm now DEFINITELY going to get the infinite sustainer. I was looking for a video like this. Thanks a lot!
Welcome. Yeah it’s a lot of fun 😁

EHX Superego+ and this
Ehx Freeze is the best one
I got my MOOD mkii in front of my (newly acquired) SL-2🎉🎉

I use freeze instead of infinite, and additionally slicer is supported by disaster area clock device to keep time relevant
to a song.

just used this with its big brother infinite on the fx loop. incredible
Yeah it is, sorry for stealing of hours of your time 😂
I think you would enjoy synths a lot. Anything with a decent sequencer can do something like this, it's fun!

Infinite just hold the sound you played when you pushed the footswitch - forever. And slicer then choping it to pieces.

Old slicer pedal was better for hand control, but this one isn't bad.
I use it with volca bass for changing bass lines on the fly.

Oddly I feel like I could play with this setup for like two hours straight

Oh you can, with that combo you would find me like in 3 weeks 😂
Modular Synthesis is cool 😎
Yeah 👍
Cool combo. I’m going to see if it works with my Plus pedal and my slicer.
Yeah go for it 🤘
But what are you using as the source sound, electric guitar, synthesizer?
That one initial note comes from guitar, but you can use anything.
what does it sounds like if you put output b back into output a of slicer
Sounds like crazy idea, have to try it 😁
Imagine u use that combo as an oszilator ... it is its own instrument. Mad❤
If u own a drum machine with it u have a rave
Yeah, its indeed instrument of it own

The SL-2 is basically an instrument already. It's a shame it doesn't have a pattern editor.

What is the input signal?
In this case just one note from guitar which is then hold infinitely by infinite. But you can use whatever you want
