Hello - On the sample shown in my video I used the cable cast on. Another nice solution is to use the knit and purl long tail cast on stitches. I have a very nice pattern for a scarf or wrap that uses a variety of reversible stitches, including the cartridge belt. It is called Marilyn. check it out on my web site: jamescoxknits.com.
