The most hilarious moment in Johnson’s testimony was probably when he said social distancing of 1 metre was allowed with mitigations. When asked where those mitigations were relating to the event where he is shown raising a glass, he replied “In the adjacent room.” without even a hint of irony as though having mitigations somewhere else in the building was abiding by the rules and guidance. To my mind this validates that he must have known at the time that the event was not following the guidance because he knew no mitigations had been implemented in that room.

I understand this point well, I am ashamed of most of my family who will still vote Tory. It sickens me. I am the original floating voter and vote for the person/party who makes the most sense to me for the given moment in time. I cannot vote for the conservatives at this time, in the same way I could never have voted labour under Jeremy Corbin in 2019, I believed then that everyone faced a choice: vote for a party who had a bad leader, or vote for one with a worse leader!
The whole political system needs an overhaul, with an independant and uncorrupt panel keeping an eye on their behaviour. But, I suppose that's too much to ask for? Time to take the 'Great' out of Britain.
Has Boris never heard of writing a thank you note? Anyway, he's rightfully getting raked over the coals for his behaviour.
If you want to talk about parasites lets talk about all the people on benefits that have never done a days work in their lives . Britain has a welfare bill that will sink it in a very short space of time

Absolutely, I've never thought any different at any time. They are in place to destroy us.
I've seen snippets, his defence is still the same, "I didn't think the rules applied to me".
Brilliant speech spot on Thankyou for voicing what most of us think.👍

What an excellent rant this was, almost shed a tear frankly, at the irrepairable damage done to our great nation that he reminded me of 😩
I feel your sorrow and anger James. Thank you for expressing it.
Every company boss in the country sat down with senior managers and reflected on how the lockdown rules affected them.
When the Chief of Staff at No 10 did the same….Boris never turned up.
And he wants to use that as his defence. I was too lazy to attend the briefings.
Five in all, reportedly. After all the revelations about Johnson's conduct and twisted interpretation of ethics, expect to find out that keeping up appearances stood in the way at every instance.
He's also arguing that he's too incompetent to recognise if necessary work is taking place or a party.
Boris ordered an investigation from people not at an event to tell him that did go to the event what happened was the guidance followed? What!
You mean the Company Bosses who still flew around the world in private jets, living the live of luxary as they shackled their workforces to their homes or workplaces?

This, among over 100 other reasons, is why I left the UK at the end of 2021. I have watched the way the Tories have destroyed the UK during my lifetime, starting with Thatcher. Another great rant from James, brilliant.❤
....thank goodness that James can provide everyone here with an opinion.
I mean..... none of his facts were wrong or out or context.....
Thank you, James.
As ever, the voice of reason
Spot On James!
‘Potato heads feeling like Billy big bananas’ nails it! You’re right, we’re living in a Tory nightmare where they just don’t care about the rest of the country while they live their carefree life.
Subsidised drink and food
You've nailed it. Tory means ....think of yourself no one else. Wasn't it Thatcher who said there is no such thing as society?
Hear hear! to every thumping syllable of that!
Boris genuinely believes he is the exception to the rule 🤦♀️
So does the village fool.
That's because he generally is .
The correct response is “politicians believe they are the exception to the rule”. It doesn’t matter the party, they are ALL the same,
ALL the same and people who desire to rule over others have serious mental health issues.
The rule was ridiculous along with lockdown but his lack of backbone saw us go into lockdown and we are now suffering economically because of it!
James completely on point again. ❤
Great show as always, please James keep doing what you are doing !!
It becomes reflexive…absolutely spot on! My worry…is that my Dad, at 84, will read his Express headline and STILL vote for them and they get in next year. An otherwise reasonable man who, I hope, brought me up well, will vote for them. And that’s what we’re facing. And I’m in an industrial northern town. It worries me…
I understand this point well, I am ashamed of most of my family who will still vote Tory.
@@Royboy52919 I bet you wish you'd voted for Corbyn now ...
Excellent James, i'm surprised you got through that without swearing!
Will all the so called advisors who advised him no rules were broken be asked to testify to justify their incorrect advice. Are they still in post?
Superb, James. Absolutely superb. This is why I listen.
Well said, James.
The whole political system needs an overhaul, with an independant and uncorrupt panel keeping an eye on their behaviour. But, I suppose that's too much to ask for? Time to take the 'Great' out of Britain.
It's nice to hear you rant James, you said it all for me. I hope to phone in one day
Has Boris never heard of writing a thank you note? You know, expressing appreciation for all of an employees hard work and promising that as soon as the pandemic emergency is over, all the employees who left will be given a nice farewell lunch or party or gathering or soiree? He is such a self-centered liar who thinks the rules don't apply to him or his interior decorator. My friends had to see their new baby granddaughter through a window because they wouldn't break either the rules or the guidance.
Yes, and some of us couldn't say our final goodbyes to friends and family at funerals, that was deemed non essential, but a work leaving do, that was essential. Ffs.
"Pandemic" and "emergency" are two words that are conspicuously misplaced when describing the last three years,( much the same as "climate" and "emergency" now.)
The Entire lockdown process was pointless, but I bet you were a screeching harpy to anyone who defied them right? I bet you're happy to vote for the next group of corrupt evil civil servants who want to destroy your freedoms you spinless worm.

Not even a note. What normally happens is that the leaver gets a card. If rules prohibit it, no warm words from the manager, just the card and perhaps a small parting gift.

Doesnot that mirror the very essence of the houseflipping pop 'n mum " investors" anglo-sax mindset and life aspirations in the end?
I dunno, I think plenty of people during lockdown did the very same thing Boris did. It seems pretty human actually - the problem is that Boris, by choice, put himself in this position of responsibility and was the one putting in place these rules. Hypocrisy is pretty human too.
Anyway, he's rightfully getting raked over the coals for his behaviour.
If you want to talk about parasites lets talk about all the people on benefits that have never done a days work in their lives . Britain has a welfare bill that will sink it in a very short space of time
