This opening sequence and Casey Donovan’s rendition of ‘We can be Heroes’ during the In Memoriam segment a few years ago are my highlights in home-grown Logies Entertainment!
Just a different era mate, social media has made everything not so fun anymore, we are all so connected instantly with one another and information, their are no surprises because it's told on social media before it happens - if social media and the internet wasn't around, it would be amazing how different we would all be when a show like the Logies was coming on, it wouldn't be constantly aired after as they do now which takes the uniqueness out of everything, we experience a very different and over the top vibe which doesn't seem so unique now. If they done a social experiment in ten years, that lasted at least twenty years - which was to keep the internet for info, email, work functions, thou remove things like Twitter, google, Facebook, news... You would be amazed at how people would go back to how life was once and how a very different vibe would be reinstated.... Why won't they thou? They claim people would go insane if they lost that etc lol, so like we dont have video calls and phones to connect still? Etc The powers who get rich off us they scare us into thinking we need it and would be lost without what we have today, instead it would be the best thing we ever did - to remove some parts off the internet so things that we enjoyed had uniqueness about it, a pleasure to sit down and be entertained again on things like the Logies. The fun parts of life!!! Atm, we heavily rely on the internet to bring us the fun everyday instead and really it's not genuine, it's not mostly real, it's fake, try hard and it is really wrecking our core sense of integrity and humour.
Flaw in the lyrics: The years that each winner sings were not the years in which they won the Gold Logies, but the years for which they were awarded.. For example, Rowena Wallace sings about 1984, but received the award in 1985. This isn't technically wrong, except for the fact that the song has numerous references to the winners receiving the awards on the years mentioned.
Indeed. The year the Logies event is held us the awards for the previous year. Therefore the 1967 event, was the 1966 Logies. And I stand corrected, but didn’t Maggie Tabberer win the Gold Logie in 1970? Why wasn’t she included in this repertoire?
