I have never played teams before, but it looks very fun. I only play singles because I only know 3 people that live near me, and I am good at singles, but I would love to try doubles, looks really fun!

It is better just to get to the ground and quickly pop up rather than try to stay on your feet and take extra steps putting yourself out of position. It is a lot easier for WR to get on the ground to make a play for a low ball even though he may be able to make the catch on his feet. The same goes for an baseball outfielder on a low ball. When you watch beach volleyball, they are constantly throwing their bodies on the ground. This is a speedy quick reaction where one has to cover a lot of distance and they are on grass so they can dive and slide around a lot.
