I caught a video the other day that absolutely simplified this movement and the timing. For a right hander, the movement is the same as throwing a frisbee left handed. It minimizes sway, and creates a ton force back into the lead leg. I think this aligns with what he is promoting.
Feeling the energy when your close to pros is so true. The first pro I saw up close was Patton Kizzire swinging a long iron or driving iron. I couldn't believe the speed he generated. Also, the sound of Tommy Fleetwood's 9i hitting the ground from 5 feet away was something Id never heard on a golf course before.
Great video! I would only add that the “sway” Jon Rahm has in the backswing is literally an inch of movement into the trail side. Check out AMG for more info, they use gears.
Lately I've been doing slow swing drills focusing on moving my feet and knees to create the force to drop my arms and the club. I've always focused on my hands, arms and shoulders to start the downswing. I can't wait to get out to hit balls to see if this is what I needed to do.
I do slow the backswing when I’m having issues with the driver. I’m going to have to try picking up my backswing speed. Maybe that will help. Thanks for the instruction video.
"Force Precedes Motion!" .... This is exactly what I needed to hear. I've become too stagnant in Driver swing, and hence too "steery". 👍🙏

Right just as theatrical!🙏
