I considered not commenting anything but you took your time to dive deeper into iKON and now I think you might be interested why this performance even exists translated to English. As others already said, you need to know iKON story to be able to appreciate their lyrics, so I'll give a little insight: - iKON lost their leader B.I, the main songwriter of the group (at that time) in 2019, and general public thought they were completely done for. - Bobby wrote a lot of songs (as a rapper champion even before the debut) but he never wrote a group song as he didn't know how. If I'm not mistaken, Dragon is the first ever group song he wrote for them in 2022 (this is why it feels so rap-like, even when iKON have 5 amazing vocalists xD) - iKON went through a LOT OF things (you might see 2 survival shows) and hate, they were forbidden to speak about their leader, sometimes they broke down on stage physically and mentally, YG agency dictated their lives: who they can talk to, can they even go outside, what kind of music they can release and genuinely iKON were mostly kept in a basement for months or sent off to Japan for touring and making money disregarding their health. They weren't even allowed to go on shows and promote sometimes. If you react to the newest Bobby's song "f", you might not understand all the cursing in the lyrics but secretly-not-secretly he called out how YG gaslighted and used iKON and held them in chains :D - If you check their survival shows, you'll notice that iKON are extremely resilient, talented, unique and rebellious in a good way. So in the first song, the metaphor of a dragon ("people who went through hardships and became successful"), the phrases "I can't be killеd", "There's nothing that can restrain me", "I can survive anywhere", "from the deepest underground we're flying up to the outer space" were telling the fans that after everything, iKON won't give up and their spirit is still strong. And they proved it: they left YG all together and started anew, now free to create anything they want^^ At Ease is iKON's final song for the Kingdom: Legendary Wаr show where several Kpop groups compete with each other. - iKON were hidden throughout the most COVID-19 era, YG didn't give them almost any online or other activities. iKON were desperate to see the fans and do anything so they agreed to come out on Kingdom (though there were solid suspicions they were kinda forced to join to mend relationships between YG and Mnet). Mind you, this was iKON's 5th!! survival/competition show in their story, and it's not like these shows are a stress-relaxed walk on a flower field. - Kingdom was infamous for unfair conditions and judgement of contestants, and at first iKON were devastated because they were doing their best and they were the last in ranking. MNET valued performances (cool decorations, camera work, wow effects) over actual live skills of singing and rapping. iKON said they could do acrobatics and be flashy with lots of props but that will mean they'll lose who they are (amazing live performers, entertaining the crowd and showing off great singing/rapping). iKON were actually appreciated for being the most easygoing and freespirited group on the show :D They even taught members from other groups to enjoy performing on the stage. - So they proudly stayed true to themselves despite ranking and even wrote a couple of diss tracks while performing on Kingdom, mocking the whole "competing-not-competing with talents" show. This is why At Ease was confusing to many as a finale song: instead of triumphant celebrating song, iKON showed a song with a "military concept" dancing among jails and breaking free, referring to the fact that Kingdom organizers wanted the artists to do exactly as they want instead of letting them show their colors, hence the "why would you wear something that doesn't fit?", "Play-play-play-STOP IT.", "You're slacking too much!(other's words)", "Bossing everyone around you feel like a boss", referencing to loyal dogs etc. - Fans were already stressed and worried because iKON were barely seen for years, everyone knew they have a hard time mentally because of leaders' loss and not being active thanks to YG, plus going through Kingdom is definitely not something iKON needed - they didn't need to prove themselves anymore and they didn't fit the show's forced mold. So again, a song like At Ease with lyrics of "screw everything, just go crazy and have fun" shown the fans that iKON didn't let this affect them either, they stood strongly and proudly being true to themselves, even if they didn't have a good chance competing for the crown. And I personally love these songs because iKON know how in a creative way tell us when they think something is a bullshxxt and they're not gonna let anyone dictate them who to be and who to be not :D It's "FREE WILL AND FREEDOM" written in every line by them. That's why I chose and translated these two songs together. I hope this info will let you see these songs in a new light. But again, if this side of iKON is not your thing, they have many amazing love and break up ballads with incredible vocals or party songs for easy listening :D
You know what's funny? in this performance it looks like there are several rappers in this group😅in fact the shortest guy who rapped 'fast' is not a rapper but main vocalist, they only have one rapper (green hair) and he doesn't usually rap that fast really. They are not so much dancing group tho, they are one of the least choreographed group although there are pretty good dancer in there, iKON are known more as kind of hip-hop group (for example they went to killing verse, which is for rappers, while all kpop groups go to killing voice) but these two songs are choreographed for this tour, maybe that's why it feels that way. About their looks, god it's also funny you comment that 😂because when they debuted they received negative comments for how they looked, so is pretty funny... I think that to better see what they bring it's better to do it with their mid-tempo songs, ballads, pop. Try Why Why Why, Apology or But you.
I will watch their ballads because i can see the potential i just felt i didn't see it in that performance. That makes a lot more sense. I can't judge them based off their dancing if that isnt they expertise. I feel most groups can dance though. You rarely see a group that can't. I have to give them some props for having members who dont normally rap, rap during this arrangement. Killing verse where they spit nothing bt bars? i have to check that one out. For iKON live performance, you should see their song Rhythm ta, b-day, freedom, love scenario They're a great lyricist too, especially their chill song like love scenario, goodbye road, but you, U. They definitely had 🔥energy on stage, but they're also famous for their love & breakup ballad typa songs. Their vocals are also really good, wish you could react more of iKONs😊

The iKON rapper is BOBBY, who won the biggest rapper competition in south korea, " Show Me The Money". He became the youngest winner and the only idol rapper who won this competition against underground rappers. Until now, there's no idol rapper who reach bobby's achievement, no one. He just 19 at that time, and wasnt debut yet. He only idol trainee. He known as the King of Youth, because he broke the prejudice that idol rapper cant rap :)

Everyone recognizes that iKON rapper Bobby is one of the best rappers in Korea and even Korea gave him the nickname *king of youth* because he won Korea's biggest rapper event when he was young and became the only idol to win it when underground rappers were very dismissive of idol rappers. I suggest you check out his performance of 'YYGR' on SMTM and *devil* live performance. iKON has 2 rappers one of which is BI but has already left, BI looks more like g dragon. Not a fan of ikon but i admited they rappers is the best

When it comes to music and live performances, the only kpop artists that I truly admire and respect are BIGBANG and iKON (B.I including) these are groups that I would pay to see live coz I know they are worth my money and more. Having G-Dragon as their mentor make me love them more. 😊

Thank you for reacting to ikon bro. as someone who has seen stray kids and ikon live in concert i think stray kids is more like a dance group than them. If you ever dare to watch Kingdom Legendary War you will notice that, ikon is more a kind a live singers-rapper and people who like audience interaction while stray kids is more like to be visually stunning with choreography, rap and makeup. These are their party songs like nothing serious. I think you should try their quieter side to better appreciate what they do, then listen to goodbye road and if you ever played fornite you surely know Love Scenario because that song was emote 2019 for this game.
I definitely will react to more of them. I had a feeling that maybe this wasnt the best one to start off with but i always make sure i listen to a few songs before i feel they arent a group for me. I don't even know where to begin. You need to at least know about their history to appreciate these 2 songs, especially the lyrics. Even some iKONICS didn't like these songs at first. I guess it's not the best introduction to iKON. One thing I can say is that when it comes to Kpop music, or any genre of music really, these are the 2 groups that I can listen to everyday, Bigbang and iKON. I hope you'll try to listen to more of iKON songs. Maybe try their break up trilogy Love Scenario, Killing Me and Goodbye Road.

i suggest you watch their 2015 MAMA performance, they were only a 3 month boygroup then but the performance was incredible.... then along the way watch their survival shows,this group gives 45 minutes encore during concert, you're getting more than what you pay for.... there's never an iKON concert where an atendee ikonic or not doesn't suffer from days of body ache, sore throat and losing voice right after.. plus you got blessed multiple times and fan service just imcomparable....

Facts that you'd need to know based on your first impression of them, gonna be quite long: 😅 1. They were mentored by BigBang themselves. They used to be a front act for Bigbang concerts too and had performed on the same stage with them a couple of times. 2. Fans don't love them because of their looks - when they debuted they were criticized because they didn't look pretty enough, even the members said that they didn't have a visual during their rookie years. Their music and talent are the reason why fans love them tbh. 3. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT A DANCE GROUP 😂 - they are like Bigbang, perfect dance routine was never their priority, especially Bobby who makes his own choreography most of the time. They used to be YG's best dancers but when it comes to performances and concerts, flawless dance routines are not on top of their list. 4. iKON is known as a Hip-Hop group but they have a very wide spectrum of genres under their discography. 5. iKON only has one rapper since 2019, BOBBY, who is the youngest(18, trainee) and only KPOP idol to date who won Show Me The Money 3 - the biggest rapper competition(for underground rappers) in SK who used to mock kpop idols skills when it comes to rapping, Bobby broke that prejudice. He is respected by both KPOP and the KHIPHOP community. 6. Talking about lyrics, Dragon was written by Bobby(the rapper), while the second song At Ease was written by Mino(WINNER) and Bobby, that song was from KINGDOM LEGENDARY WAR. 7. iKON is a self-produced group by the way. B.I., the former leader of the group, used to be their producer and writer til his departure from the group in 2019. Now, the main producers and writers of the group are BOBBY and DK. Jinhwan and Junhoe are taking part in the production and songwriting too. Everyone in the comments already suggested some great live performances that you could check out. Bobby must be him the way he proved that kpop idol skills are crazy too. I will react to more because based off what everyone has said this group is top of the top. Not to give excuse for my boys but i gotta defend them as well. Concert prod wise, BIG. HUGE difference in the budget allocated to iKON vs BIGBANG and SKZ. Flashback concert was that era where they are on talks to not signing back to YGE. 😅 And this budget discrepancy is soooo evident esp if you have seen how YGE splurge on the concerts for BIGBANG, 2NE1 and BlackPink. iKON only experience live bands for concert at the tail end of their stay to YGE. Stage outfits are sometimes like an after thought (thank goodness the members can carry themselves despite those)

Thank you so much for reacting to ikon. Truly appreciate your honest thoughts about the group. Personally, I agree with you that BB is and will always be ghe number one performers. During 2018 when most BB members were in the military, I started to look into other groups to fill my time. But none of them caught my attention. Until I stumbled upon a predebut survival show between iKON and WINNER. And the moment I saw iKON's performance there, I was hooked. They were just rookies, but somehow I was drawn into them. There's just something about them that captivates me. I never tried to compare them with BB, bacause, to me, both groups have different charms. Anyways, I can't wait to see your other reactions to ikon 🥰
I watched their killing voice and why did it take yall so long to talk about bobby. That man is INCREDIBLE!!!! No need to compare groups but i do it to give an idea of how great groups are relative to one another. I like seeing the influences in different groups and how each of them share similar aspects.
Highly recommend their new album Take Off, their best album thus far in my opinion. It has hiphop, rnb, pop, rock, mid tempo, ballad! Full package. Plus kudos to you tho coz while both songs are good live and are well-written especially Dragon, these aren't the best introduction to iKON. This is not one of their best performances. If I remember correctly, at the time they had been flying a lot and doing 2 shows in 1 day (each show being about 2-3 hrs) that's why their voices aren't the best either. - Bobby wrote a lot of songs (as a rapper champion even before the debut) but he never wrote a group song as he didn't know how. If I'm not mistaken, Dragon is the first ever group song he wrote for them in 2022 (this is why it feels so rap-like, even when iKON have 5 amazing vocalists xD)
- iKON went through a LOT OF things (you might see 2 survival shows) and hate, they were forbidden to speak about their leader, sometimes they broke down on stage physically and mentally, YG agency dictated their lives: who they can talk to, can they even go outside, what kind of music they can release and genuinely iKON were mostly kept in a basement for months or sent off to Japan for touring and making money disregarding their health. They weren't even allowed to go on shows and promote sometimes. If you react to the newest Bobby's song "f", you might not understand all the cursing in the lyrics but secretly-not-secretly he called out how YG gaslighted and used iKON and held them in chains :D
- If you check their survival shows, you'll notice that iKON are extremely resilient, talented, unique and rebellious in a good way. So in the first song, the metaphor of a dragon ("people who went through hardships and became successful"), the phrases "I can't be killеd", "There's nothing that can restrain me", "I can survive anywhere", "from the deepest underground we're flying up to the outer space" were telling the fans that after everything, iKON won't give up and their spirit is still strong. And they proved it: they left YG all together and started anew, now free to create anything they want^^
At Ease is iKON's final song for the Kingdom: Legendary Wаr show where several Kpop groups compete with each other.
- iKON were hidden throughout the most COVID-19 era, YG didn't give them almost any online or other activities. iKON were desperate to see the fans and do anything so they agreed to come out on Kingdom (though there were solid suspicions they were kinda forced to join to mend relationships between YG and Mnet). Mind you, this was iKON's 5th!! survival/competition show in their story, and it's not like these shows are a stress-relaxed walk on a flower field.
- Kingdom was infamous for unfair conditions and judgement of contestants, and at first iKON were devastated because they were doing their best and they were the last in ranking. MNET valued performances (cool decorations, camera work, wow effects) over actual live skills of singing and rapping. iKON said they could do acrobatics and be flashy with lots of props but that will mean they'll lose who they are (amazing live performers, entertaining the crowd and showing off great singing/rapping). iKON were actually appreciated for being the most easygoing and freespirited group on the show :D They even taught members from other groups to enjoy performing on the stage.
- So they proudly stayed true to themselves despite ranking and even wrote a couple of diss tracks while performing on Kingdom, mocking the whole "competing-not-competing with talents" show. This is why At Ease was confusing to many as a finale song: instead of triumphant celebrating song, iKON showed a song with a "military concept" dancing among jails and breaking free, referring to the fact that Kingdom organizers wanted the artists to do exactly as they want instead of letting them show their colors, hence the "why would you wear something that doesn't fit?", "Play-play-play-STOP IT.", "You're slacking too much!(other's words)", "Bossing everyone around you feel like a boss", referencing to loyal dogs etc.
- Fans were already stressed and worried because iKON were barely seen for years, everyone knew they have a hard time mentally because of leaders' loss and not being active thanks to YG, plus going through Kingdom is definitely not something iKON needed - they didn't need to prove themselves anymore and they didn't fit the show's forced mold. So again, a song like At Ease with lyrics of "screw everything, just go crazy and have fun" shown the fans that iKON didn't let this affect them either, they stood strongly and proudly being true to themselves, even if they didn't have a good chance competing for the crown.
And I personally love these songs because iKON know how in a creative way tell us when they think something is a bullshxxt and they're not gonna let anyone dictate them who to be and who to be not :D It's "FREE WILL AND FREEDOM" written in every line by them. That's why I chose and translated these two songs together. I hope this info will let you see these songs in a new light. But again, if this side of iKON is not your thing, they have many amazing love and break up ballads with incredible vocals or party songs for easy listening :D
You know what's funny? in this performance it looks like there are several rappers in this group😅in fact the shortest guy who rapped 'fast' is not a rapper but main vocalist, they only have one rapper (green hair) and he doesn't usually rap that fast really. They are not so much dancing group tho, they are one of the least choreographed group although there are pretty good dancer in there, iKON are known more as kind of hip-hop group (for example they went to killing verse, which is for rappers, while all kpop groups go to killing voice) but these two songs are choreographed for this tour, maybe that's why it feels that way. About their looks, god it's also funny you comment that 😂because when they debuted they received negative comments for how they looked, so is pretty funny... I think that to better see what they bring it's better to do it with their mid-tempo songs, ballads, pop. Try Why Why Why, Apology or But you.
I will watch their ballads because i can see the potential i just felt i didn't see it in that performance. That makes a lot more sense. I can't judge them based off their dancing if that isnt they expertise. I feel most groups can dance though. You rarely see a group that can't. I have to give them some props for having members who dont normally rap, rap during this arrangement. Killing verse where they spit nothing bt bars? i have to check that one out. You're right all these groups in general train for so many years that they can do a lot of things even acrobatics, you should check out some acrobatic groups uhm. 2014- 2nd survival show called Mix & Match (TEAM B + CHANWOO) ps. this show is also heartbreaking

Their journey was successful until their company threw them in JAPAN for two years where lots of there fans left. The iKON rapper is BOBBY, who won the biggest rapper competition in south korea, " Show Me The Money". He became the youngest winner and the only idol rapper who won this competition against underground rappers. Until now, there's no idol rapper who reach bobby's achievement, no one. He just 19 at that time, and wasnt debut yet. He only idol trainee. He known as the King of Youth, because he broke the prejudice that idol rapper cant rap :)

Everyone recognizes that iKON rapper Bobby is one of the best rappers in Korea and even Korea gave him the nickname *king of youth* because he won Korea's biggest rapper event when he was young and became the only idol to win it when underground rappers were very dismissive of idol rappers. I suggest you check out his performance of 'YYGR' on SMTM and *devil* live performance. iKON has 2 rappers one of which is BI but has already left, BI looks more like g dragon. Not a fan of ikon but i admited they rappers is the best

When it comes to music and live performances, the only kpop artists that I truly admire and respect are BIGBANG and iKON (B.I including) these are groups that I would pay to see live coz I know they are worth my money and more. Having G-Dragon as their mentor make me love them more. 😊

Thank you for reacting to ikon bro. as someone who has seen stray kids and ikon live in concert i think stray kids is more like a dance group than them. If you ever dare to watch Kingdom Legendary War you will notice that, ikon is more a kind a live singers-rapper and people who like audience interaction while stray kids is more like to be visually stunning with choreography, rap and makeup. These are their party songs like nothing serious. I think you should try their quieter side to better appreciate what they do, then listen to goodbye road and if you ever played fornite you surely know Love Scenario because that song was emote 2019 for this game.
I definitely will react to more of them. I had a feeling that maybe this wasnt the best one to start off with but i always make sure i listen to a few songs before i feel they arent a group for me. I don't even know where to begin. You need to at least know about their history to appreciate these 2 songs, especially the lyrics. Even some iKONICS didn't like these songs at first. I guess it's not the best introduction to iKON.
One thing I can say is that when it comes to Kpop music, or any genre of music really, these are the 2 groups that I can listen to everyday, Bigbang and iKON. I hope you'll try to listen to more of iKON songs. Maybe try their break up trilogy Love Scenario, Killing Me and Goodbye Road.

i suggest you watch their 2015 MAMA performance, they were only a 3 month boygroup then but the performance was incredible.... then along the way watch their survival shows,this group gives 45 minutes encore during concert, you're getting more than what you pay for.... there's never an iKON concert where an atendee ikonic or not doesn't suffer from days of body ache, sore throat and losing voice right after.. plus you got blessed multiple times and fan service just imcomparable....

Facts that you'd need to know based on your first impression of them, gonna be quite long: 😅
1. They were mentored by BigBang themselves.
They used to be a front act for Bigbang concerts too and had performed on the same stage with them a couple of times.
2. Fans don't love them because of their looks - when they debuted they were criticized because they didn't look pretty enough, even the members said that they didn't have a visual during their rookie years. Their music and talent are the reason why fans love them tbh.
3. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT A DANCE GROUP 😂 - they are like Bigbang, perfect dance routine was never their priority, especially Bobby who makes his own choreography most of the time. They used to be YG's best dancers but when it comes to performances and concerts, flawless dance routines are not on top of their list.
4. iKON is known as a Hip-Hop group but they have a very wide spectrum of genres under their discography.
5. iKON only has one rapper since 2019, BOBBY, who is the youngest(18, trainee) and only KPOP idol to date who won Show Me The Money 3 - the biggest rapper competition(for underground rappers) in SK who used to mock kpop idols skills when it comes to rapping, Bobby broke that prejudice. He is respected by both KPOP and the KHIPHOP community.
6. Talking about lyrics, Dragon was written by Bobby(the rapper), while the second song At Ease was written by Mino(WINNER) and Bobby, that song was from KINGDOM LEGENDARY WAR.
7. iKON is a self-produced group by the way. B.I., the former leader of the group, used to be their producer and writer til his departure from the group in 2019. Now, the main producers and writers of the group are BOBBY and DK. Jinhwan and Junhoe are taking part in the production and songwriting too.

Bobby must be him the way he proved that kpop idol skills are crazy too. I will react to more because based off what everyone has said this group is top of the top. Not to give excuse for my boys but i gotta defend them as well. Concert prod wise, BIG. HUGE difference in the budget allocated to iKON vs BIGBANG and SKZ.
Flashback concert was that era where they are on talks to not signing back to YGE. 😅
And this budget discrepancy is soooo evident esp if you have seen how YGE splurge on the concerts for BIGBANG, 2NE1 and BlackPink.
iKON only experience live bands for concert at the tail end of their stay to YGE. Stage outfits are sometimes like an after thought (thank goodness the members can carry themselves despite those)

During 2018 when most BB members were in the military, I started to look into other groups to fill my time. But none of them caught my attention. Until I stumbled upon a predebut survival show between iKON and WINNER. And the moment I saw iKON's performance there, I was hooked. They were just rookies, but somehow I was drawn into them. There's just something about them that captivates me. I never tried to compare them with BB, bacause, to me, both groups have different charms. Anyways, I can't wait to see your other reactions to ikon 🥰
I watched their killing voice and why did it take yall so long to talk about bobby. That man is INCREDIBLE!!!! Highly recommend their new album Take Off, their best album thus far in my opinion. It has hiphop, rnb, pop, rock, mid tempo, ballad! Full package. Plus kudos to you tho coz while both songs are good live and are well-written especially Dragon, these aren't the best introduction to iKON. Eh.. The songs sounds not as hype as their old songs. The last song I see that has the similar hype as bigbang is killing me. I love both ikon and bigbang but I stopped watching anything about them for a while because nowadays I'm into another music genre. Coming back to see this? This is ok. This is not one of their best performances. If I remember correctly, at the time they had been flying a lot and doing 2 shows in 1 day (each show being about 2-3 hrs) that's why their voices aren't the best either. Check out their Killing Verse and also Bobby’s Killing Verse (green hair dude) he's the only rapper in the group
