What are you talking about 😂 he’s been running fast which is correct but he’s the 4th leg and everyone is in lane 1 so he’s running as much of a 400 as much as everyone else
@@n88te Look at the race again. He did most of his overthinking on the bends in what would have been lane 2 on a regular track thus running the extra meters.
He is going to be important to the growth of the sport in the US. I think he is that special. I am with Gatlin. It needs to be half and half. He is still going to want to be with his teammates. None of them are seniors. They are going to want another shot at the Jamaicans next year at Penn. If you take him away from high school completely, I think the sport loses but if you leave him half way, the younger track athletes coming up get exposed to him, all the endorsements that he already has. The Penn race should have been all over ESPN but there is probably some type of red tape preventing it unfortunately. I think this is the tip of the iceberg. We are in the middle of a generational talent ascending. He has been dominating since he was 8 years old at least. This is no fluke here. This is a special child.
Old head track administrators are the biggest obstacle for growing the sport. They can change a few rules quickly, and the fan base would grow quickly. A bigger fan base would lead to more money and more talent entering the sport, which would in turn lead to a bigger fan base, and so on.
@studentAthletes2000 He may just be physically mature for his age. Others may catch up and pass him. He has over a minute and a half to equal Wayde van Niekerk's record of 43:03.
Ease him into a few races against pros so that he can build confidence, but also get used to what it is like to be on the big stage. Yes, protect him and let him grow into it.
I feel like there is something going on with the Christian Miller thing. No one is talking about him very much. Last night, when he got 5th in the finals, he was not even mentioned. Weird.
Honestly, USA Track and Field need to have Bob Kersee as the country’s head coach for Olympics and World’s. The guy makes champions. We’d be better off with him as the National head coach.
Bro that’s the most intelligent response I’ve heard yet. I know Bobby kerse Sidney coach . I ran high school with some Olympians Dennis Mitchell John Drummond just to name a few. That’s exactly who his parents need to contact asap. I saw Q at 8 yrs old and knew he was special. He’s with a great HS coach right now but even he’s a lil confused because nobody wants to make a mistake with this kid
Don’t forget that Darrell Robinson, from Tacoma, Washington, in 1982 set a US high record of 44.69 that still stands today. I like to see Quincy beat that record. Justin Robinson set a youth record of 44.84 in 2019.
Never thought I'd see the day when sprinters in high school would be running Olympic qualifying times in the 400M and 100M (Christian Miller ran the fastest time so far in 2024 @ 9.93). Can't wait to see how well these athletes do when they hit their peak.
I think Quincy knows his talent and knows he's going to age and get stronger, faster, and gain more experience. I think he need surrround himself with a Professional Coach, Teammates, sponsors.
The last short person I see so run well is. Christopher Brown of the Bahamas. I don’t mean to come with the negatives .. But his room for growth and increased stride length and frequency is very limited .
The last time there was a 400m phenom like this , was the Jamaican Christopher Taylor. There seemingly the same Stature with Christopher looking a little bit taller…and he himself didn’t improve that much after his initial burst into the scene . Quincy won’t get much taller; you can tell the length of his neck . He may take another second or so off but his stature isn’t built for 43.low (he doesn’t have the stride length or foot speed) He’s mostly strength and endurance based . Let me know if I’m wrong in the comments .
Ya'll better take care of the world's little brother. Protect him. He belongs to the world. I hope he gets coached properly. Wonder if he will grow anymore?
According to the USADA web site, he's never been tested yet, and there's all kinds of stuff to buy online. I wouldn't get too excited until he has to pass out-of-competition tests on a regular basis.
So he using drugs like bro let him be great ain’t no substance on this earth gon give him a boost enough to get him to run fast times like that. If it is there are many sprinters who would still be running. Stop being weird everybody don’t sit here and cheat
It’s sad that someone would even write this about a CHILD. Is this where we are as a society? We question the hard work and character of a CHILD rather than celebrate his accomplishments? He’s been breaking records since 8 years old. This ain’t nothin new. He’s also a straight A student at a prestigious independent private school. Should we question whether he cheats on his homework and tests too? Come on y’all. We’ve got to do better than this. Like for real.
@@joelee7935 I hope you're right. But unfortunately history, science, and game theory suggest a depressing picture of what is probably happening in youth sports.
Oh yeah? My son. Jackson Oliver, is 6th grader just turned 13, and according to Mile Split has among the top times all-time in the 1 mile, 1600m and 800m of Tennessee and among top of all-time.
The 16 year old is great for his age but that does not mean he will develop and mature well. By running as much and as hard as he has it will leave some wear and tear. The greatest 400 m runner in history is Wayde van Niekirk who ran an unbelievable 43.03 in the Rio Olympics in Brazil. He then got his ACL torn in a rugby match and has not been close to that since.
44.3 with a running start not from the blokes 😂 smh always putting the pressure on you young athlete let him grow smh 🤦 just hope it doesn't get to his head
His 44.37 split is even more impressive because he ran most of the race in the outside lane thus running more than 400m.
And ran it twice in one day

Nicely said. This is going to be special even though he kind of looks like he is in middle school.
I'm Jamaica but that usa kid have special talent 💯💯

He should look to Sydney Mclaughlin and her coach. he is the model and her coach is a GOAT at coaching.

This kid can only can get faster, can`t wait for looking at his future !
Steve Lewis upset the world record holder in the Olympics. Butch Reynolds couldn't catch him at the finish line. Quincy has that same energy.

and he did
Shout out to Obea for real. If you don't know, you don't know. But for the people who know, Obea was HIM.

Abusing peds they might have already, these high school phenoms never pan out because they be on that shit that can't use in the Olympics
And he don’t even look tired after his races!!

Lane 6,5,4 are the best because how your focus is much more alive. I need to see his 200m so the crazy 19.19 can be tested for sure 🙏🏾🏃🏾♂️

I wouldn't change a thing. Go through the motions don't skip anything.
Tell him to turn pro & maximize his earning potential because track careers are short. Link him up with Allyson Felix who had the same trajectory.
Love 🙏🏾

Can his style as far as his arms going out and legs going across his body be improved to insure more speed or don't change anything.
Quincy Wilson is amazing though!

Obey Moore ! La Jets for life ! Bryshon Nellum before he got sh*t!
don’t forget tyrese cooper now
Christopher Taylor 45.15 at age 15
Ok and? Show some respect will you
Wow that’s fast
How many male HS sprint phenoms have gone on to have the long, dominant success people were anticipating?
He ran in lane 2 the whole race to get around everybody. Just sayin’.
