He wasn't overrated bro but just like "Abby" both desperately need a coach who knows or has some knowledge of the true mechanics of technical training of the body angles to work together, just like most of the great "Jamaican" sprinter's( For instance "Eliane" or "Bolt" or go back into the dark ages sort of speaking when the "Jamai- can's" great sprinter "Donald Quary" was put on the computer at the time, & it said he had the perfect form of what all body angles should l👀k like at that time for a sprinter going forward super fast, he had a great coach who was quietly hid out second in command some what at USC at that time & working with other sprinter's who came to him in the dark to get taught or fine tuned to run 🏃‍♂️ faster, he was called the master Guru quietly 🤫 among his students at that time period & really was a hid legend of sorts 🤫the head coach would get all the glory for his sprinter's & the one who had the touch to get a sprinter going faster was left out of the equation sort of speaking, but those who knew who he was kept him in the background not on purpose, but that was kinda sorta the arrangement, the big time sprinter's at the time never really pushed him to the fore-front & since he worked for the "University" kinda part time with no real authority the system at the time kept him in the back ground along with the sprinter's & just picked up what they could & left him out & just kinda used him when they needed his service 😢, but would go see him for improvement, so what am I saying, just this, he was hired by the University to assist the head White coach & of course the coach was smart enough to let him train the sprinter's on the team & when they did well the coach would of course get the glory, & the real problem solver would be left out 👌🏻; it was really so unfair to the man & he himself was a "Jamaican" also; I said all that to say that very few coaches understand the true art 🎨 art of sprinting 🏃‍♂️ but most of all he understood the true mechanics of sprinting & also how to teach it to each individual sprinter ok; I say that all "Matt" & "Abby" need is the true art 🎨 of proper mechanics & how to apply it properly, the only coaches that I know of who has some knowledge of this of what I speak of are the two coaches over at "UCLA" & of course the two coaches over in "Jamaica" & even "Dennis" to some degree who coaches "Sha-Sha" & her two friends, but even he doesn't have full knowledge of what I speak of, tell you what grass🦗hopper, go check out "Sidney's" mechanics, it will explain what I'm speaking of, notice her arms & how her body mechanics are all beautifully aligned & working as 1 unit, all body parts going & geared working together to go forward 🛫🛫 which is exactly why she makes it l👀k so incredibly easy in the 4 💯 hurdle & the open 4 💯 & the open 2 💯 & the 💯 meter hurdle & even the 💯
meter dash, when the body angles are working properly & together as 1 the action will be extremely smooth & even across the board, & it will appear effortless, not many can do it like that cause not many coaches know how to teach it, nor understands how it works or how to teach it even if they did no a little bit, only a few in the world even have a clue of what I'm speaking of🤷👌🏻"Ace"🤣!!! Boling is not uncoordinated. Heshould've become a decathlete. Coming out of high school, he was a 1000 point performer in the 100m, 400m, and LJ. He was a +2.0m high jumper and a 4.5m vaulter, events he barely practiced. He's tall and powerfully built. The only question mark was the 110h, which requires a lot of practice, but it wouldn't have been surprising with his speed and agility that he'd soon excel in that event too. He goes to Georgia, the premier decathlon school at the time. I really thought then that by 2024, he'd be throwing down 9000 points. Never happened.

He's a fast runner, you have to be at an elite level to make it to the finals of any event in the US trials. There's only 3 spots for individual events, so a lot of outstanding runners don't make the team. That said, I've never heard anyone saying he's the next Usain Bolt or anything, so I'm pushing back on overhype. Give him time and he'll come into his own in the 400m, he's still young.

I’m just stating when we really pay attention, there are about a million blacks who outperform him and aren’t even mentioned. Not calling it racist, but I think it is simply a mater of fact that just like we have a black person, hispanic person, etc., be the first to achieve something, we also have the first white person to achieve something, and it is highly celebrated…rightfully so. Yet, the reality is he’s not a top contender as a pro, and there are tons of folks who way outperform him on this level. Lots of folks do great in school and the lower ranks, then flop in the pros. In fact, it seems to be a running theme in this sport that the NCAA Champions are nothing in the pros. I wish Matt the best because he does have talent, but he needs to step it up tons to get to where he wants and needs to be, and I do think he needs to focus on the 400M for now, because it will likely give him insane 100/200 strength when he’s in his upper 20’s.

For example, in the US he won the SEC 200m outdoors beating Joseph Fahnbulleh. Then Joseph Fahnbulleh defeated him outdoors in the NCAA's. Fahnbulleh went on to finish fifth in the Olympics running for Liberia. So, there were not a million blacks as you you spoke of in jest perhaps, who could or did beat him.
The next year he ran in the 400m in the US Trials and he finished 6th before being selected to go to the relays in Budapest. Once again, he defeated all but five so he was in the upper echelon. His relay team won.
This year he made the finals but went out too fast as did the eventual second place finisher Michael Norman. He was gassed and finished 8th and next to last. He did not get invited to be on the relay team. Still, there are not that many who would finish ahead of him even in that less than stellar race which was slower than he'd run in the prelims.
He is not an individual medal winner but neither are millions of others, regardless of color.
By the way, you are right about the possibility of seeing others doing well. I am amazed at Louie Hinchliffe of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. He won the NCAA's and is at least half Pinoy. I don't know about his father who is English but his ancestry has not been divulged. Louie will represent G.B. and N.I. in the Olympics.

But, yet, this young guy doing a trifling pod of the 100 heats, was specifically looking for Bolling. And I'm like, "who??" - and why are you not highlighting Lyes, Bednardik, etc - why the hell are you seeking out this Bolling kid.

Y'all love to diss Boling and you emphasize that he got a light color skin. He was very good in high school so a lot of people expected continual improvements after high school and in the pros. However, even though he has been way above average for college, he has not been a world beater so people like to put him down when he doesn't come out on top or near the top in the finals. He definitely did not do his best in the finals of the 400m because he went out way too fast and had nothing left.
Nevertheless, there is one area where he has set a great example for successful college and pro athletes. Colleges are glad to snap up foreign students and give them the benefit of our training and competitive experiences while our own youth are pretty much being short shrifted unless they have parents, like Quincy Wilson, who really support him and even relocated to get him into the elite track program at Bullis.
So what has Boling done? He donates money to high school track programs even though he has not been as highly compensated as most other NILS and Pro athletes have been.

She's an Indoor and Outdoor 200m NCAA champ and she is also a National champ in the open 200 and her times do actually put her as one of the fastest Americans of all time in the 200. She also did run a scorching relay leg on the 4x1 and a fast 4x4 leg at Worlds and came through there on the big stage. Boling isn't even close to those achievements despite his decent PBs. In comparison, GB's 24yr old Charlie Dobson since moving up to the 400m as well in that time has run 44.38, 44.46 & 44.65 splitting multiple 43s for GB's 4x4 Teams.

MOST athletes do not make the big time in the pros even after doing very well in college.
Boling may not be the exception to this general rule but I don't see you calling any of the "black" athletes who don't make the transition "trash." Why is that? And to generalize that "white" athletes are "uncoordinated" is a very ridiculous claim.
As you say, we really don't know Boling's genetic code. He has a surname that is very common among the Melungeon of the Appalachian Mountains - Boling or Bowling. The Melungeon are mixed combining black, white and native American ancestry. I do not know if he actually is Melungeon descended on his father's side but it is possible.
He gets a whole lot of attention because he's been famous for a long time. People don't know a lot of the new faces out there and besides, in the 100m NCAA finals this year, FOR EXAMPLE, the first seven places went to foreign athletes. The only two from the US were eighth and ninth (Z Beard and Lance Lang.) Lang like Boling, had great hype out of high school.
You compared Boling to Joseph Fahnbulleh. He beat Fahnbulleh for the SEC Championship in the 200 m indoors and outdoors in 2022.

So, calling him trash is pretty ridiculous IMO.
By the way his World Championship in the Mixed 4 x 400m is nothing to sneeze at. He's also won the 4 x 400 men's event at the World Championship. Running relays, like basketball and football, is a team effort and that requires more than speed but also finesse and COORDINATION.

In this day and age, whenever we try--and we should--to be objective, we're told we're "haters." This was the same when I did talk about Jenna Prandini, then Abby Steiner and this dude--Boling. But then I realized that is the fans and the media who actually create all the hype, the bells ringing, the fanfare, the mental masturbation and the expectations. Most fans--at least the ones that berate me--are highly emotional more so than rational and objective. They have, or rather tried, to insult me with all kinds of ad hominem, but what they have not been able to do is to prove me wrong. These three have not beaten anyone on the big stage. In 2023 world championship in Eugene, Oregon, both Prandini and Steiner got beaten by a bunch of old women from the Caribbean. Then they [inserted] both in the 100 and 200m (a tokenism so they can feel good about themselves) to beat a Jamaican team that even my grandmothers could have beaten. Thanks to Melisa Jefferson--and not Steiner--was able to barely beat Shericka Jackson. Jamaica had only Shelly Ann-Frazier and Shericka Jackson as the two stronger in the 4x100m and 4x200m--that's it. They could have been beaten by anyone.

He’s also juicing 100k look at his progression from High School. I saw it somewhere on YT as a 9th grader he was running high 12 sec for 100m and damn near 30 sec for 200 m then all of a sudden 12 grade he runs under 10 wind aided. Not buying it with that genetic code 🙄🤷🏿

He deserves his ratings, black white, brown or blue, anyone running sub 10,Sub 20 and 44 point deserves recognition...plus he's a long jumper! How much do YOU know about track?

According to the video maker his sub 10 was wind aided. It could gave merit cuz Matt Boling never ran sub 10 again to my knowledge

No he has at least one legal sub 10. Boling is a fantastic athlete by any measure. It seems to me that this RUclipsr is unwilling to acknowledge this simply because Boling is white. In my book, that's racism.

    • @kamuishortsgamer3728

@kashkaMH1 That is true. It is because he's white, but there's also many other factors around that which becomes an issue. The main one being he's getting all this attention because he's white, but in reality it's not like it hasn't been done dozens of times by the average black person or even white person before and didn't get this much acknowledgement. Because Boling, realistically, is not going to be anything MAJOR. He's really good as an athlete. Yes. But in those respective fields he's not attaining anything absurd.

Say what you will about Boling, but you can't run under 10 seconds unless you have the elite genetics to do so, you can't train or dope to achieve this. The biggest criticism of Boling is a lack of consistency, which is caused by either overtraining or psychological issues. Boling seems to have a problem peaking too early or late in the season. Asafa Powell has the record for sprinters who've run the most sub-10s in the 100m but would perform poorly in big meets due to folding from the pressure.
I do agree with you regarding the double standards of media attention and sponsorships that are racially motivated, but that doesn't remove the fact that Boling has elite genetics. You can acknowledge both racism and this fact.

Lets talk about what's good about Boling? His stride is what makes him so good. it obviously works and he had it his Sr in High School. He was not able to get great gains from this point. But his stats include a true sub 10.00 100m, sub 20.00 200m, many indoor low 20.x 200m, sub 45 in the 400m and the 8.25 long jump. What can he do to get better? I felt he could add more power to his frame via olympic lifts and squats, perhaps add 5-7 lb of explosive muscle and add more muscle to his frame... His stride would would be cleaner an more powerful even more sharper like Asafa Powell.

I believe the correction definition for Matt Boling is over-hyped. I remember hearing he would break the 100 meter world record in a couple years after high school. Every race, many had excuses why he did not win. One NCAA Championship in 5 years of college is respectable, but NOT impressive.
