i dunno about that. average use stuff is fine on linux. specific programs may be an issue but there are alternatives for a lot of things though a lot of people aren't flexible enough to adjust to alternatives so that is a bit more difficult that just saying "use this instead." i don't know what you mean by functions. examples?

But the biggest thing that made me stop trying was the awful community. Have an issue and have the balls to ask on a forum? "Google it! Honestly? The RUclips comments section is dead to me. Has been for quite some time. Nothing but people trying to mischaracterize or maliciously reframe what you said, deliberately misunderstanding you in order to argue because of some preexisting chip on their shoulder, or just plain being idiots.
Its the format. It should be closer to reddit. The first level of comments works pretty close to ideally. The upvoted comments are closer to the top. The second level however is a mess of brief comments. It's not too useful as the comments exceed a few dozen. In reddit, all comments are nested. So, replies are under the comment they are replying to and so on, for as long as there is a conversation. Why do we need several conversations to be in the very same, chronological order together? It's a headache to figure out who is saying what to who at times. The actual content of the comments would get better if the crap would just sink to the bottom, under a different sortation system. There could also be different categories of comments like new, hot, controversial, etc. Then users can find the comments they are seeking to read.
The Windows Start menu being unresponsive is also present in Windows 8.1 Though there is no real Start menu per se, the Windows icon can become unresponsive to any clicks and can only be fixed by restarting the explorer process (if it doesn't crash before that). And this happened to me on daily basis. But I've used Classic Shell for years, and haven't had this issue since. Even explorer crashes are gone.
Hm weird, haven't had this issue since the anniversary update. Before that, sure, on my laptop it got so bad it stopped worked completely, like even if you kill the process and start it again it still freezes.

If you disable the "show me windows tips" (it's something like that) checkbox, you don't get them. I just did it out of habit and was confused when people started complaining about it, because I never saw it. I also really haven't been having any of the start menu issues others are having, either. Probably from all the stuff I started out by disabling because I just don't like it.
