- Finally made it to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for the season's first ride. Took the new Ski-doo Summit out for the first ride and it already broke down on me. Not off to a good start with Ski-doo. Hoping this is the only issue I run into with the new Summit.

So many things to say on this video.
None of this is the sleds fault & is 110% the riders fault.
You need to set your dash to “RPMs” and not the speed. I commented a few videos ago that you would hate your sled if you didn’t know you how to adjust your clutching, and especially riding a summit in low elevation.
You are literally hitting the rev limiter because your clutch is empty- meaning there is no weights in it FOR high elevation.
You want some weight loaded up because you’re not loosing HP like the mountains (there is much more that goes into it, but that is a simple way of explaining it)
There is also such thing as quick clickers on your primary, you can go up to gain RPMs & you can go down to loose rpms(because depending on weather, snow type, etc RPMs might change- so YOU need to fine tune- there for a reason).
Its just frustrating you blame the sled and try to give it a bad name when YOU are not doing what you need to doo….
Rant over….
Also GGB can is not helping (causes bog, and rpm issues-said that as well)
Riding in 3” of snow with no scratchers on Summits is gonna cause it to get hot- and thats with any sled in that amount of snow.
……
I agree with the can as well, many people have complained and I’ve experienced it first hand with ggb. Bog from the trail can, switched back to stock and ran mint
You hit the nail on the head! Leave the mountain sleds to mountain sledders.
@@jayfxdx Agreed🤙
Saying a sled won't carve in 3" of snow, and that you might switch brands because of that sounds like you are a newbie that runs a RUclips station with little sled experience. Running a sled around some fields calling people Bro with a wrap isn't carving
The "B" temp is your belt temperature. Also, when riding trails with the lug size your sleds have, you really should have snow flaps and scratchers. Happy trails fella's.
First of all, you need to adjust your GoPro. All we see is your gas tank when riding. 2nd. You're killing that sled with the skiff of snow! Normally love your videos but you can't jump ship treating you SkiDoo like this and the clutching issue. Lol ready to trade it in on first ride is ridiculous. The issue has nothing to do with the sled. It's rider abuse and no scratchers WTF
He doesn’t know what mountains are only smackinh trees is what he knows lol
Yah
No the gopro is good!
FAX!
It’s not a repair, it called setting up your sled for elevation, not Doo problem it’s a you problem.
Treating a summit like it’s a 95 Polaris Indy lol
bro rides a moutain sled like a trail sled
Bro your just not a very experienced rider
Pretty sure your hitting the rev limiter. Since it’s a summit it probably is clutched for higher elevation. Also the low snow conditions means a lot of track spin which will cause the Rpm’s to jump quick. It sounds like it’s screaming down the trails to (rpm’s are to high). I had to buy a clutch kit for my mountain sled… heavier clutch weights and different springs.
Could possibly look at getting a different helix to… maybe a freeride helix or even a trail sled helix. Won’t hurt the power but will keep the RPM’s down on take off.
good luck with the channel, but really?….you have a skidoo summit that is made for the mountains (that is why they call it a deep snow sled - at least 3 feet of base), not 4"of snow. You’re not "carving" anything in 4" of snow. in michigan you just need to get the enticer and "send it".
Skidoos tend to run warmer than Polaris's in our group. Etechs go through a series of phases as the temperature rises. At 145ish they'll add more oil. About 155/165 back off on the timing. 175/180 temp light comes on and around 200ish the sled starts to beep and will shutdown cause your an idiot. Lol In poor trail conditions I usually shut it down around 160/165 and have had no issues doing that.
What speed are those doo mountain tracks rated for? Mountain Track can explode holding to the bars down the trail going 90
I’m staying at the refuge cabins Thursday- hope they keep working on the snow pack this week!
Trail riding a mountain sled again. Great content
The skidoo summits come stock w high elevation clutching most of the time so you may have to swap the lurch weights and springs w low elevation clutch kit
Hi elevation low elevation from ski Doo isn't just clutching it's gearing also.
It's only like one or two teath and you can use the same chain .
Also when overheating pack snow on top of the tunnel around your bag.
And every summit I have ever bought ( 2015, 18, 20, and my 22) all came stock with scratchers.
90 on a trail…next he’s going to wonder why he has to replace his track. Also ever consider throwing out that garbage exhaust system?
Yeah, you guys looked like rookies in the vid. Definitely none of the issues were the sleds fault. Just a couple loose screws behind the wheel. 😋
Hopefully this big storm hits and you can end your trip on a high note.
The GoPro is pointing a little down for my preference, we don’t get to see the view very much
biggest goon award
It’s the ggb mountain can that’s making that bogging. I had the same issue with my 800 etec with a ggb mountain can.
was having similar issues with my m6 i talked about on your vids you made on the catalyst back around hay days my m6 would climb up to 7700 RPM drop down to 6500 and then climb back up to 7700 it has a after market cam in the secondary clutch was set up for high elevation all we needed to do to fix the issues was simply tighten the secondary up and now she runs like a champ i am new to high elevation clutching so if anyone who has more knowledge than me would would like to fill me in that would be great
Holy FU*k is that loud!! And 60 max bro that track is going to heat up!! I bet you have out west clutching
Awesome video zac can you do a old vs new sled video to find out something an older snowmobile can do better than a new and just have fun
It’s ok. Skidoos are made for big boy mountains out west. Not farm Fields
Great video looks like you are at Wildlife Refuge Cabins great place to stay ... head to the the Porcupine Mountains great view ,...
It could also be octane level. Not having enough octane on my sled will make it limit the rpm.
Norther wi has a lot of snow and we are gettin like 30-40 in of pow this week
It’s the GGB exhaust they’re junk, I had issues put stock back on and no problem
It’s the Indian not the arrow
LOL
B is belt temp e is engine temp and you’re over revving because your clutches are adjusted too high for what elevation you’re at use your clutch tool, and set your clutch weights to 1 you use your clutch tool and use the star head for your clutch weights it has 1-4 settings, depending what elevation you’re at put it on one and you should only be hitting 8,100 rpm
I find this hilarious you're riding a mountain sled. I'm 4 inches of snow without scratchers and mountain sleds. Do not ride well in no snow.
I take it loud pipes are allowed in Michigan?
I always clutch for the elevation I am riding before taking the sled out.
I asked you in another video of yours if it had high or low elevation clutching.
Dm him on insta he most likely will respond
Ski doos have limiters mine had high elevation clutching on mine and it was fine
It’s Not A Polaris. Completely Operator Error. You guys are trail Riding on Mountain Sleds in 4 inches of snow with no scratchers or snow flaps and high altitude clutching. No wonder they were hot well main thing is now ya know and reach out to guys who have been riding that sled and tell them your riding style I’m sure they’ll dial that sled right in to your style of riding. It is a big difference from the Polaris for sure. Stay Healthy Stay Safe
Buy some scratchers. When you're on any kinda vacation or travel trip. You can't rely on the weather man. I put them on all my sleds. Your friend Jays motorsports. 👍
Planning to learn off trail riding in the trees...smart
By the way the bogging issues is probably the exhaust ggb is a known culprit of causing bogging issues. GGB doesnt do any dyno testing for individual units same exhaust with different brackets and stuff for different brands. flat out pathetic how they do things. Also why are you so suprised your sleds are overheating on trail with 3 inch lugs?
GGB stands for Gay Guys Banging 😂
You ever get in any trouble running a mountain can
Where is this place y’all are at?
You need scratches for starters. I personally can’t stand Polaris.
Everyone told you ggb was junk 🤷♂️
But it’s “cool” and it sounds “sick” hahaha diamond s is the only way I’ll go for aftermarket exhaust.
The bog is the gbb exhaust
junk
Gay Guys Banging can GGB
Where did the sled break down?
Clickbait 🤦🏻♂️
🔥
All ready WOT on your new ski-doo i wouldnt even do that to my new polaris or even be blipping the gas like that.
You will never see an engine break in video and not say to hit wide open throttle
@@Sodbuster346why am i finally seeing the comments almost a year later yes your right they wont break them in properly
Bought a gen 5 and I feel the same. Sux
also Making a decision with how a skidoo rides in 4 inches of snow kind of proves that you arent experienced and pretty new to the sport. Happy riding though
You should powder coat your rails white
Skidoo all the way
Have a great trip . Ride safely out there
Adjust you clickers on the primary, your probably over reving it. I had the same issue with my skidoo at first. Make sure its on, i think position 2.
It’s your clutching . Adjust your clickers takes about 10 minutes
I love your passion for sledding! But wow dude you don’t know anything about mountain sleds. Polaris, skidoo, or Artic cat mountain sleds can not be judged in 6”’s of snow lol. B is for belt temp. Knowing you altitude and clutching is a must. You went Trail riding with mountain sleds🤦♂️with high altitude clutching 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
U probably need low elevation clutching. Look up ibackshift clutching
It broke down? Or clutched improperly?
Its your GGB can that making that bogging put a MBRP can or JAWS
Totally was just the track skipping
I told u 3 inches of snow..
You boy's need scratchers!!!
I’m pretty sure he didn’t break it in first
Pretty sure it was used
@@fairbanksairriders with what
@@wyteout ?? By a rider
it’s your clutching over just turn your clickers down
Bro, my first ride ended up w me in the ER
That sucks I totaled mine by hitting a culvert first ride this year
You will heal and sleds get fixed or replaced. It sure ain’t easy. We’ve been fortunate this year with a surplus of snow in Alaska.
Time for mbrp
Bro we got a foot of snow in Wisconsin
We got a foot in mn to
Possible 2 feet coming to the eastern UP late this week🫰
The fuel injection or the can doing shit my cousins did the same thing bc of the can or fuel injection
i like the comment WE LOOK LIKE IDIOTS
big sled guy but doesn't know how to change clickers
Don't care if your sled broke down as you don't care if mine broke down.
Guess you don't care to much about the break in period on a new motor!
The sleds used not new
@@thecrew694 oh I thought it was new
Ahh well shit bud , I guess I keeping my
Polaris ! As there is a fix to the brakes ! Said the release will be in a couple weeks ! Reflash of the ecu.
That's why it broke lol summit on the trails? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The carbs
You broke down, not the ski doo lol thats all you can expect riding with no snow.
Clicker down to #1
No snow and ur ggb is the problem
🤣🤣
Than switch to arctic cat
Its a mountain sled not a trail rider
He probably didn’t even break it in before riding like that
Break in what exactly
@@Sodbuster346 ur mama
@@wyteout Exactly. You have no clue
Good grief! Just stay off the mountain sleds.
It’s got a turbo on it in hardly any snow of course it’s gonna over heat 😂
Tool
Bogging 😂👍 you obviously hitting the rev limiter mountain sled running at sea level on groomed trails. You think 160 is Hot 🤡
Skidoo junk
shouldn’t have bought a skidoo
Not ski doos fault it the clutching thing is not meant for trails and 3 inches of snow.
Lmao good for all the ones that say new is better my sled was a total of 1300 and still runs after 31 years
