Severn Valley Railway - Spring Steam Gala 2018

- Possibly the biggest steam gala of the year was due to take place at the Severn Valley Railway and a mere six visiting locomotives would all be in seen in steam. With the some of the homefleet on show, this would see 10 locomotives all in steam across the three days. The weather conditions would also be remembered, as one minute it was balmy spring sunshine and the next day would see a Siberian blast, which as expected would bring below minus temperatures and a decent dosage of snow for the remaining two days !
The gala was a roaring success with plenty of good notable loco performances and full trains, Friday looked very busy with standing room only on the majority of trains. The video is shot mainly on the Friday, with a few extra shots taken on the Saturday. Scenes in the video are not in order. I hope you enjoy the coverage.
Gala highlights
B12 '8572' on the LNER Teaks
6023 The 'Blue King' on full line trains
B.R '80072' With load 10 Equivalent up Eardington Bank
1450 & 1501 Double header Авто/Мото

David and Lily.
Great show by 80072 with a hefty load on Eardington bank! And Tornado makes a fantastic sight bursting under the bridge!
Thank you for braving the cold weather, great footage!
What a fascinating record of the weekend. Some fabulous footage, there. Loved the final clip of the sheep dashing away from the double-headed tanks. Well done. 👍🏻
I was here on that day ross when the snow suddenly turned up
Great film
Loved seeing the B12 in the LNER colours
Well done
Great footage! Just shows the power of the standard 4 tank with equivalent of 10 on up the bank!
What a superb catalogue of a great effort by the SVR! With literally wildly varying weather conditions, these are tremendous captures, Liam and Phil. Appreciating it all, I particularly enjoyed the sequences of 53808. Many thanks, Bob K.
Superb shooting! Great job as usual! Sounded like the sheep were excited about the arrival of 80072 as well! :)
Excellent film, with some stunning viewpoints used. Thank you

Fantastic coverage as always Liam & what a contrast with the weather. I only did Friday and that was at Foley park so you no doubt feature in some of my shots. Regards, Brian.

This is why 80079 is needed back in service!

So good to see ex-Great Eastern steam...thanks for excellent filming once more.
What a wonderful Sight seeing express locomotives pulling carriages at a fairly high speed. Reminds me of when i was quite young travelling up to Paddington station from Cardiff by express train
Another great video, brilliantly filmed, Thank you both.
Herrliche Aufnahmen,wunderschönes Video...herzlichen Dank dafür
A splendidly varied collection of locomotives, very well captured as always. I had to look up the quaint little 0-6-0 tank Bellerophon to discover its origin - fascinating technical details of the unusual valve gear - great that it has been preserved. Well done.
