The style of the video is my childhood and I don't even know it. FilmBox is pretty powerful little tool there, I love that 16mm look. Watching digital films for so long, then going back to the older classics (35 stuff) and seeing the grain patterns is crazy to think that was normal at the time. Going to watch the extended for more childhood. Nice video dude!

I did it as a hobby, for fun and family. I started to get into Lightroom, but then ran out of time so to speak. Retired now, etc., I still want to play around with this. I did not know this software until watching this, so thanks! I did look up the pricing, and I'll probably wait awhile at least. But it was great to watch you play with it.
Bought it last week and by far my favourite plugin as well. I am working on home video for Christmas couple weeks ago and still editing it and liking what i am seeing from the plugin.
If you told me the short film in the beginning was actually shot on film, I would have believed you! It’s a bummer they don’t have Windows support yet. However, even if they did, it might be a little while before I buy a license 😅 Editing photos inside of resolve is an interesting idea, never really thought of it. It makes sense though if you want to colour match jpgs with video. I enjoyed this longer video, well done :)
This plugin looks legit. I've been tinkering around with the demo version, and it makes a compelling case. It seems weird how little coverage there is on it on RUclips and elsewhere. I assume it's simply that they aren't flinging codes all over the place to drum up interest. I kinda respect it, because there aren't a million suspicious puff pieces about it, like you get with so many gear and software launches. I don't know where I'm going with this, but it's making me reflect on the weird state of marketing (yuck) these days. Anyway, great video.
one of my friends is a DIT for some major streaming shows/movies and he first told me about it about a year ago. im kinda glad its not a "RUclips" plugin. seems like its only being used on pro jobs so far and the price reflects that. their scatter/diffusion plugin is very widely used as well.
If one day I made a movie, it would definitely have the emulated look of the film. I really don't know very well why in the industry this is not done very often, that leaves me confused, the aspect of the film is simply BEAUTIFUL

Could you do a round trip FCPX to Resolve video? Since you have a Sony camera I am wondering exactly how you do that successfully..You said you export a pores but how do you do correct color grading or exposure on the individual clips, I see you just imported the whole clip..? Thanks

They seem to be pretty similar in their makeup & what they offer. Is it a simplicity thing?
I'm not really sure I understand the hype behind this; don't get me wrong it looks amazing, but for the price it seems a bit lacking in features. Maybe I just missed it, or you skipped these things in the video, but was there really no 8mm film? Even the Halation plugin in resolve has a bunch of controls for fine tuning that I didn't see here. Are you just paying for the convenience basically?
Do you find that you have to under expose your log footage to use film box? I typically over expose my v-log footage by 1.5+ stops and noticed film box blows my highlights out. I guess I can just add a node before the film box node to correct. Curious what you do.

Hey! I have found your channel through the Panasonic gh5 (ii) and s5 test. My question would be which camera would you recommend for low light jobs? I would mostly use it in a theater and stage enviroment, thats why i need the better low light capabilities then usual. My afraid is that i dont have more money then the s5 with the kit lens and i dont know if that is going to be enough or i could do better for the price with the gh5 and special lenses. Thanks for the help!
kit lens will be rough on the S5 in low light. even with the dual ISO that f3.5/f5.6 is going to stress it out. GH5 is atrocious in low light. Your best bet is to save up a bit and get a 24-70 f2.8 for the S5 at least.

I got through half the video until I learned it's useless to those of us who use Premiere Pro.

FCP just sucks in general for color and I just gave up on trying to make it work. Resolve is 10 years ahead of Apple here.

it's been a very long time since ive used this for photos but if its like video you can copy your nodes to each image

I just do them with titles. But FCP has subtitles baked in if you need to export SRT files!

When editing in FCP, do you edit the footage without adding any LUTs? Or do you edit with a temporary LUT of sorts?

Hey! I have found your channel through the Panasonic gh5 (ii) and s5 test. My question would be which camera would you recommend for low light jobs? I would mostly use it in a theater and stage enviroment, thats why i need the better low light capabilities then usual. My afraid is that i dont have more money then the s5 with the kit lens and i dont know if that is going to be enough or i could do better for the price with the gh5 and special lenses. Thanks for the help!
kit lens will be rough on the S5 in low light. even with the dual ISO that f3.5/f5.6 is going to stress it out.
GH5 is atrocious in low light. Your best bet is to save up a bit and get a 24-70 f2.8 for the S5 at least.
