Thought I would share my top ten tips for shooting better vlogs or videos on the canon g7x mark 2. Have a had a great response and loads of questions of the review I did so here's a follow up to hopefully help improve your videos.
1) Setting Image stabilisation to HIGH
2) Choosing a neutral colour profile + colour grading
3) Setting your white balance
4) Choosing your frame rate
5) Choosing between NTSC or PAL
6) Turning on the built in ND filter
7) Using a lapel or pairing a external mic
8) Adding a windshield or wind breaker
9) Correctly using light to vlog
10) Setting up studio lighting for sit down style content

I am absolutely amazed with the G7x’s stabilization! 😍 I currently use the new Sony RX100 vii but the stabilization is just horrendous!
Must say, the Canon G7X ii is one of the most underestimated cameras in the market. Just an awesome all round camera, great value for money. Would be tough to make a pick between the Canon M50 and the G7X ii.
Choose the m50, because it has interchangeable lens, and a mic input

I have this camera and love it. I traded my bulky DSLR gear in on this one. Aside from not being able to change lenses, the G7Xii can do 90% of what my DSLR could, and some things it couldn't. So there are way more positives than negatives. For my shooting, I rarely need a long zoom so I don't miss that. Another tip concerns the flash. Using a flash indoors makes everything look blue because of the color temperature of the flash. An easy way to fix that is to take an opaque film container ( A photo film container ) and place a piece of amber colored flash gel inside the container. Cut out a narrow strip on one side of the container and then you can slide the container over the flash arm on the camera. The amber colored gel will color balance the flash to the indoor lighting. If there is sunlight mostly lighting the room, then the gel probably won't be needed because sunlight is close to the same color temperature as a flash. The film container is small so it can be stuck inside a pocket when not needed, then quickly added to the flash.
Informative video :) I mostly desaturate my picture profile and lower the contrast settings in it for better color grading in post. Also, I think investing in a boom microphone might be better for indoors too! Great job man.

Still getting used to the camera, but it really helps when you have someone to "tell you" where to start! Do you have a video on connecting the external memory mic to your Canon G7X Mark II?? This is the only video on YT that I can find that recommends this mic for the G7X mk II.
Theres absolutely no other video that mentions this mic for this camera.
did you find any? Ive been looking for the same lol... Im not sure if with and adapter you can actually plug the mic to the usb of the camera
@@angiec5765 No I haven't. This video is the first time hearing about it. I looked up the product and it looks like its mainly for iPhones, not 100% sure if you could use it for the G7X like it shows in this video

I recently got this camera as a present and when trying to shoot any type of video I keep hearing a ticking noise due to the autofocus. I don’t hear this on your video at all and wonder if this is something you experienced with it?
Nice video. ND on, Image stabilization on High, White Balance to sunny or cloudy..all good, but you failed to mention whether ISO should be on Auto or we should set it ourselves while filming video. Please suggest

oh i think i figured this out- change the setting from auto to manual move mode and THEN go to menu and check IS settings

Switch to Video on the top dial then go to IS settings.
