The genius of Janette in choreographing around Jake's weaknesses is just brilliant. This is an all out - fun - dance that was not perfect but was memorable and 100% entertainment, this is what Strictly is all about. To expect a celebrity to technically get a 10 is pretty much impossible as they only have 4 days of training, especially Jake who unlike others on the show has never danced before. Well done and 10s well deserved for making people happy.

Jake was my favorite celebrity of series 12. His dances were so funny and incredible to watch. He definitely has the best hip action I have ever seen. Keep going snake hips

Who else is back here after Greg Wise tried to dance to this song? I doubt anybody will ever be able to dance to Macarena on Strictly again without someone comparing it to this showstopper
That's why i got confused when people said it was a poor song choice to choreograph. Never mind the costumes, good choreography and working on the partner's strengths would have solved it!
Jake really did this dance more better than Greg.

Oh my god, I was cringing so much at the twerking! hahaha And was thinking WTF when this song came on, think I was just blinded by my hate for it, but having watched it back he did pull it off! Maybe slightly over marked though? Freaking love Janette as well, she's just amazing, and so HOT.
I wouldn't really call it twerking, that word is overused for everything that involves someone moving their hips. Decent dance though.

A 10 is for perfection plus, not for pantomime pandering to the crowd. Wouldn't hurt to take a leaf out of Craig's book in terms of integrity. It was a good fun dance, and that hip action was amazing, but credit where it's due, and not over so...
News Flash , "THERE IS NO PERFECTION ON ANY OF THE STRICTLY DANCES" It can not be accomplished in four days and a few hours a week with an amateur.
There is - to the point where you can't see obvious things wrong, like posture, timing, lines, footwork and sustaining of performance. They're the key things they tend to look for, and plenty of celebrities have nailed all of them in a few days. For a judge to give a ten when posture and lines are so obviously off, and they have admitted 'it lacked in technique' (and 'what it lacked in technique' is a direct quote), is just ridiculous. Where did your 'news [not really news and not actually true] flash' 'quote' come from? Just cos you've shouted it in quotation marks, doesn't make it any more valid...

TheDancerall It should be taken seriously. Some people, myself included, are passionate about ballroom dancing and take it seriously and there is nothing wrong with that. It's a dance competition after all not just an entertainment show.
Jacob Dunbar well no it's not...it's entertainment. If you want to see dance competition go to Blackpool, where only the judges score.
SCD is a popularity contest. When the scores are half your result, the other half is based on votes. People vote cause they like that celeb or that pro. Dance itself it's a great bonus. But history has shown that not always the best dancer wins. It's almost always the most likable celeb or partnership.
