Sir Brain i hear the metro area of Detroit is growing though

Baltimore is the scariest place ever!!!!
You don’t even have to watch the video to know that Baltimore is going to be on this list 😂
And you were correct
Bodymore, Murderland
Such a shame about Baltimore. It has some great parts, like the waterfront, Camden Yards, and Johns Hopkins. A city in severe need of a makeover.
Granny Cee Definitely. Baltimore has great potential, but when that potential will come is the question

I still remember working in Baltimore. I never personally had any issues, because I was dropped off outside my work and walked to my ride at the end of the night, but I heard plenty of stories from locals and coworkers. Enough to know better than to walk alone.
I’ve been to Detroit 3 times and never experienced any issue cuz in nighttime I use my car plus I’ve spent most of my time in suburban
What Happened, I thought Robo Cop watched over Detroit, maybe he is on Vacation
He got defunded.
Amy! You just might try a bit of stand-up comedy. That's really funny. Detroit is so spread out that even 10 robocops would not be able to keep up with the crime there. ( : - }} ~~~

I loved the video, not surprised at all. I figured St Louis would've been higher on the list. I was born and raised in that craphole, at 18 I joined the Marines to get away from that hell hole. It was the lesser of two evils, if I'm going to die I might as well do it fighting for my country instead of walking out the door to go to the grocery store. Here's a funny story. Last week my cousin called me from St Louis and ask me if he could come to Tampa and live with me until he get on his feet. Now mind you this is my cousin that just got out of jail after serving 23 years for murder. He said St Louis had gotten too violent, after laughing my ass off until my stomach hurt. I told him no, my wife wasn't going to go for it, I hung up.(saved by the wedding ring) Now when a covicted murderer says the city has gotten too violent something is seriously wrong.
I heard some good things about ST Louis but was surprised it wasn't number one. I heard it's super progressive and the suburbs are nice. Also the bad parts are the most dangerous in the US.
Springfield is bad, too
How is your cousin doing now? What was his reaction when you said no?
Just moved to St. Louis 4 months ago and it sucks. It’s a shit hole
@@kathymyers-host6187 which Springfield? I just moved to St. Louis (unfortunately) from Springfield, MO and I miss it.
Lived around detroit my whole life. Worked in the auto plants. Only got jumped twice. Once by a guy who was was my height, but not as strong as me. The second time by four guys, lucky my friend was close by and saved the day. I lift weights, it's good to have some strength in situations like this.
So you just endorsed why it's s shitty place to live.
Lol, walking in Memphis, 1/51 chance of violent crime...
I hate Memphis
Memphis is not as bad as y’all think y’all just gotta stay out the hoods 😂 especially south Memphis

I stay away from Memphis
My son and I lived in Oakland 30 years ago when it was the most ethnically diverse city in the national. The crime varied by neighborhood. Crime has skyrocketed since then. It lost businesses as a result of crime - grocery stores, malls, restaurants, ...
I can confirm as someone who lives there
Don't worry Briggs, Portland is sure to make the list for 2020.
Considering that he said they were eating in park, I'm not much surprised
@Flying Up the heavy Republican side of the state yeah
"Don't live in Oakland" been hearing that quote since the 80s.
I’m surprised Cleveland didn’t make this list, but San Antonio made it in. San Antonio is still a great city.
If East Cleveland was actually part of Cleveland instead of being its own municipality, then Cleveland would've made the list.
Cleveland's slogan: "At least were not Detroit!"
Lol i was actually looking at a job in Cleveland today and was thinking.. ehhhh dont want to get shot
John Sparks 🤣🤣🤣
Wow, wouldn't have guessed it living here. I do live on the northwest side of town, though..
*When you put the likelihood of being a victim of a violent crime in a fraction like that, it hits much harder than hearing how much more dangerous one city is over another*
I'm guessing St. Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, and Baton Rouge

Briggs ... no kidding, I've been worried about you in your residential location. I thought Portland was the center of peace and love. Other people I know there tell me otherwise. I'm finding your list today about 70 percent in agreement. Usually we are much closer. Oh well, can't win 'em all. Stay safe.
Gateway to the Afterlife 🤣🤣😂😂😂😭😭😭😂😂💀
Been there..stayed in a hotel in the city but felt more like an abandoned building and yes we drove by in East St.Louis so scary 😭
I survived San Antonio for 20 LONG years! I survived Texas for 45 LONG LONG YEARS!! I recall when they built River Center Mall and there was a gang shoot out IN the mall! I moved to New Hampshire where we have more liberty and far less crime!!
As a person from Atlanta; I'm not surprised at all.
Same here. The Bluffs, Mechanicsville and SWATS ain’t no joke
You speak of Portland, but like Seattle and other places, a lot of the problems are restricted to smaller areas of the cities usually. Though in St. Louis MO, you might end up in trouble if you try and protect yourself.
Why?
What-da-f ??? You say that Briggs might "end up in trouble". Really? How dumb are you? In trouble with whom??? Current and former teachers, therapists, numerous citizens, cops and fireman LIKE reports such as these. So many people like you connect crime reporters WITH the criminals; as if to suggest that they are one and the same. Yep! That's correct folks; I'm ot feeding you any bull product. I did a LOT of attempted criminal deterence in the former near-ghetto that I used to live in, and I experienced THAT VERY THING. In general the general populations 'people' are disfunctional idiots.

Was just watching your videos! So happy you uploaded
I had the choice between San Antonio and Tucson. I guess I'm glad I went with Tucson.
San Antonio is not dangerous at all. he said he also based it on population which is why more dangerous cities like Chicago did not make the list. If you ever get the chance, visit San Antonio :)
@@jacquec9800 definitely not bad at all. I wouldn't even take this video serious. The crime rate is actually really low.
For sure, Tucson is as hot in the summer as most people can take, while San Antonio would be more temporate, but likely more-than-moderately humid. I've been to Tucson, stayed there in recent years. Me I'd pick San Antonio. Never been there, BUT HAVE been to Houston/Galveston, so I do know what humid is. Been to Arkansas many times in my life, over 4 decades (have famiy there). The Ozark plateau is gorgeous and really green, but the summer humidity is high. Also, the winters in Tucson can get quite cold, not extreme like Albuquerque (it's in the Rocky's), but still cold enough.
Good pick with Tucson.
I'd like to live in Tucson if it wasn't for scorpions, spiders, and tarantulas
I knew Atlanta, was bad, Cabbage Town has been dangerous long as I can remember mind you, Mr. Briggs, I am 62 years old.
Cabbage Town is where Grant Park is off of Boulevard.
I love ATL
i wonder about that vid. traffic on that interstate was moving WAY too fast for ATL, the only thing i can specifically remember not liking about the place. 'course, i never had to live there. old trucker's saying: "if you're driving through Georgia, fuel up before the border--never stop for any reason in Georgia." never knew why--i paid attention, i didn't want to find out. even made reservations on family trips for rooms in SoCar. Birmingham AL is Not a recommended alternative. i believe Briggs did a vid about Reasons Not for it somewhere here.

@@francobrown4409 Thats right. Represent, be proud. I love Baltimore.
NYC, LA, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, and Minneapolis during these riots
Sooo TRUE.

California's burning due to wildfires, there hasn't been riots here in Cali like everywhere else so don't know why you mentioned it. That was 1992.
Franklin
Jacksonville
San Diego
Oklahoma City
Mesa
Miami

California is also a craphole due to liberal policies that’s burning it from the inside out not the outside in like the wildfires
This list sounds about right. I've been to and lived in a couple of these places.

Great video, kinda saw most these coming. Keep'em coming.
Glad to see you back Briggs. Everything ok there in Portland???
Hey Briggs..I thought that Stockton California would made the list with Oakland..
Thank You Briggs
Another great to 10. How about the top 10 dangerous places in each state (or region, i.e., Southeast, Northeast, etc.). Just a suggestion and if other people like it, you will have a nice series 😁
Great video thanks make more.
Ted Wheeler, the mayor of Portland, was tear gassed there last night!
I've lived in Oakland my whole life and it's really not that bad, it also probably has the best weather in the USA, it's never too hot and never too cold!
Your not a idiot love your videos! Please do a worst towns in Massachusetts my home state thanks!
I’m from Chicago and I’m surprised we aren’t on the list.... regardless of the stats
It breaks my heart and makes me sick to think about all the hell that's happened to the people in Flint, Michigan. Detroit, too, but damn. That's just insane!
Flints water is getting better and prepsndemic was ahead of schedule. My BIL was working on the pipe gang there. Flints problem was ignored by the governor but is now addressed. I've read a lot on lead poisoning, and am very encouraged by the fact that, with a few outliers, most of the kids in my mother's generation and before grew up in a similar lead exposure era. I remember when lead was in gasoline. My generation and following have enjoyed less and less lead exposure and the levels deemed toxic are lower as well. Not belittling it, I just really liked the health depth guy who was afraid they would write off this generation of flint kids as damaged goods. My parents grew up with tons of lead and were quite smart and successful. So there's lots to be hopeful about.
Flint will be a rich popular city very soon
@@independentrapking4125 I really hope so. That would be so exciting to see! Cheers :)
@@kristinradams7109 ain't no need to hope I'm working on making it happen right now by myself
This process would move faster if residents living in Flint with me would help out but
They won't so that's why it's taking so long to bring Flint back on it's feet because I'm doing everything
By myself which is rediculous
@Robert Burley I'm about to open up an internet radio station in Flint that's going to be my first business
And if I become a billionaire from this radio station I plan on opening up 300 something businesses
As many as NYC has and plan on owning my own NFL and NBA team in Flint
That's how I plan on making Flint a rich popular city.
Dear Briggs, 1st love the video, 2nd, shocked Chicago (my hometown is not on this list), but you actually know our city. Also was quite shocked that a few cities SA and ATL were on this list and not Philly, Dallas, Albuquerque, etc. Hope you and the family are well. (Patrick in Chicago)
I live in the Dallas area, and for a city it's size, it really isn't too bad on crime. There are parts that are bad, just like every city, but overall, it's not too bad. I'm from Newark originally. That's bad. It's worse than Philly. Albuquerque is very bad and I am surprised it wasn't on the list.
@@thullraven1 where I'm (Jackson MS) is only 160k ppl but had 130 homicides last year. That.is.insane. so imagine if that place had 500k ppl, that is a scary thought. Did some more research and they are at a rate to beat that number this year, unbelievable.
Chicago,Atlanta,Philadelphia, and Dallas are very large major cities.Go to an inner city neighborhood in those 4 cities and you will see a definition of a real hood in certain areas.San Antonio and Albuquerque are not major cities and to me there kind of friendly compared to the 4 major cities I mentioned
news flash: Oakland is nowhere close to 50% cheaper than San Francisco...it is expensive!!
I lived in Detroit , Michigan from 1991 to 2001. It was shit then. I cannot imagine how it got even worse, Holy shit!
Please keep Oakland on the "most violent " list. Hopefully, that will keep tech types from San Francisco and Silicon Valley from moving here. Rents have risen 300% since the tech exodus began a couple of years ago. I grew up in San Francisco and moved to Oakland 10 years ago. I've watched the streets of SF become littered with garbage and homeless tents. The influx of a city's wealth is directly proportional to its poverty. It's started to happen in Oakland. So, please move Oakland to #1 on your list!!
Hey, Briggs, you should do a video about Sundown Towns. The towns that are listed from The Greenbook. That would be a very interesting video.
9 of the 10 would probably be in my state - Alabama.
Great job !
Briggs! You click-baited us with Portland. I knew it! But on the other hand Baltimore made the list again!
You go Murdermore. Ah good times!
I'm surprised that New York didn't make part of this list, I went there once and I saw pickpocketing everywhere.
I'm hoping this is a joke. Pick pocketing isn't a violent crime.
New York’s crime is actually VERY low, especially for being the biggest city in America.
Pick pocketing is petty crime
@@snuffedtorch3683 IT ISN'T THE ACT THAT MAKES IT VIOLENT BUT THE SENCE OF PERSONAL VIOLATION.

Lived in Atlanta, am in Portland. I'm surprised at Portland though.
I guess with the temp riots, then for 2020 if you're where those are happening, then yeah.. lol
Portland and Seattle were once some of the greatest places to live in the nation. Funny how the tables have turned. Salt Lake City and Boise are poised to be the best places to live in this country. Easy access to the outdoors during a time when there’s not much else to do but be far away from people.
The way things are going it seems inevitable that families will be stampeding away from the cities towards the rurals.
Tracey Benna You are exactly right. An African American police officer made an observation that there are more minorities on the cities police force than there are marching in these riots in Portland. That shows you just how little these protests have to do with racial justice. It’s all about creating chaos and nothing more.
@Tracey Benna I know..its gone from peaceful to violent, which I think is horrible.
I can't speak for ppl here in Portland on the feds issue...trying to stay away from all the local news rt now,its so crazy.
You Portland residents need to recall that lawless mayor who is letting the city get trashed. But if that's what y'all want for the future of the city, then so be it.

Thats scary... =/
If you move to Atlanta. Move to the suburbs, not the city. The city sucks. The suburbs are nice
Some of these cities were already struggling prior to Covid-19 now they have have to deal with this. All these cities have good and bad areas, but the media only likes to focus on the bad areas. In Detroit for example the average income for Palmer Woods is $149,000.
Boy everyone always brags about Detroit out of all the cities in Michigan soon people in america going to be bragging about Flint to in a positive way
Detroit only city that has all the professional sports teams in Michigan well some day Flint Town
Going to have professional sports teams to and become a much bigger city.
Memphis, go to Beale St for some great blues and grub. Otherwise, Lay Low. In st. Louis, downtown/the arch is pretty safe, also go to "The Hill" which is the little Italy of St Louis and that is pretty much it. The Inner Harbor/downtown in Baltimore is pretty safe.
That Little Rock trashing was savage.
Please make a video of the safest cities in the us
Please. Im trying to move!!!
No city is, probably lol. You guys gotta sort out those guns!
I am thankful that I did not live in any of those cities when I lived in the USA. I am back in Cda!
Honestly even without the current events I'd still put Portland up there just from the number of times I've been assaulted or had my home burglarized or a vehicle stolen there. It's actually nice to see the city's finally fed up with PPB's crap and doing something about it for once instead of just keeping on like that is normal.
I've been to 3 of these 10 cities. I'm surprised some of the other places I've been to wasn't on the list.
When I tell people I am from Detroit, they ask if they can see all my bullet holes!
Not one border city with Mexico but many in the Midwest. That means something
Ya, very interesting! Thanks for pointing that out
Mostly because the Midwest cities are older (100-150 years since growth), currently not growing (except suburbs), and have established or dying core economies
Most Mexican border cities have rapidly growing in the last 40-50 years
African American neighborhoods mostly

That J.W. Marriott building on the Indianapolis landscape looks like a visual glitch. How could they let that dissimilar of a building be erected there? It's such an eyesore.
They built for the Super Bowl we hosted so it was kinda last minute
Now that's a city all black people should hate is indianapolis dang I'm so glad I don't live in that city no more.

Flint reminded me of something. Checkout the top 10, and bottom 10 of water quality. It has a strong effect on human behavior, when it contains heavy metals. I hear not every place that has worse water than Flint is nationally advertised.
I'm suprised New Orleans and Camden, New Jersey didn't make the list. I was brave enough to visit Detroit last year in June for their special annual event called the River Days, but like Briggs advised, I stayed in the downtown part, and nothin bad happened to me.
@Flying Up Well I'm glad you made it out of there safely.
