Welcome back, everywhere is so bloody expensive but as everything charity shops dont price for reselling. They price to sell, charity shop managers dont price items with thought to can people make a profit on this. They price on % on a new item, so for example, 75% off a full priced item. They are trying to make money for the greater cause which is the charity they support. :)

Great to see you back Julie! Some great points about charity shops. We watch lots of reseller videos and there is definitely a move away from overpriced charity shops to buying bundles of wholesale clothing. The charity shops that shift stock at reasonable prices will be the only ones that survive. It's difficult to believe that most of the shops haven't realised this and price stuff at eBay prices. The irony is that the overpriced stuff that doesn't sell, probably goes into bundles and sent to rag houses, ready for purchase by resellers!

Wahayy your back lovely to see your little face, I still think theres profit in charity shops it just depends on which ones, I have about 4 to 5 that are reasonably priced and I've managed to get some great stuff, there are ones that I refuse to go in ( British heart) as its laughable the pricing. Xxx❤

Lovely to see you back! If your local charity shops ask where you’ve been, be honest and tell them the prices are too high and you can carry on your business with them. Might make they realise and change their ways.

Great video,I’m in full agreement with you even for buy to keep items they are pricey,I hardly buy from charity shops anymore, instead I go to my local tip shop where I can get a carrier bag of clothes for £3 and folded right you can get a load in A carrier

Nice to have you back. Thanks for sharing. I don't bother going into my local charity shops anymore, the prices and the attitude of the staff in some of the charity shops round me put me off too. I tend to buy on marketplace and I have made great contacts and that helps me with great stock. I don't do clothing though.
However, if I was in a different area, I will definitely go into charity shops. I went to France last year on a day trip and I went looking for a charity shop to the annoyance of my daughter 😅

Morning! Great to have you back 😊 I think it's getting harder to find bargains in charity shops, as some have ebay shops too and put the best online. Also I know some like cancer research are set monthly targets to reach so they try and get higher prices but as you said they don't sell and then go to rag man. They would defo sell more & make more if prices were lower. Having said that I've always found it difficult with clothes. I'm definitely more a bric a brac seller. X

If I see stuff in charity shop with marks/stains/holes etc I now always let the staff know so they can take it off sale

Welcome back, i rarely go into the charity shops when i'm in town, i know they are all too expensive and a waste of time, but i have several really good out of town charity shops that i do really well from that do ridiculously cheap sales every so often like fill a bag for £1 or everything in the shop 25p-50p so i stock up when they do that x

Lovely to see you back, love your vids and info. High prices in Oswestry, didn't buy a thing when I went in X6 shops last week, a waste of my time and legs! Wrexham is better, not much, but some shops are cheaper, some are ridiculous! I always return stuff with staining and holes there are some po faced shop assistants, but they shouldn't put them out, that's not fair, even though myself and my daughter meticulously check and check each others some stuff still has to be returned. Mostly though they've been fair especially as I will re spend on more if I can. I agree the prices are becoming a no go. Such a shame!

Charity shops are cutting their noses off to spite their faces...they and here I mean the C.E.O's at the top - thought Ebay resellers are making the money that we could make and - in my opinion it is backfiring because resellers were some of thier best customers and as you pointed out spent a lot more money than the average shopper. I think the current trend/fashion for shopping in charity shops will pass and then prices may and I stress may go down again once the shops start to see that they have lost a valuable group of customers ie- Ebay sellers.

If you want a Phase Eight dress and it's £8 that's a bargain compared to buying new. The shop's just want the money and have realised people have made ££££ reselling and they want a slice of the cake. A lot of the prices are OTT but you can find a few bargains. Good spot finding the bag.

We went to a charity shop last week, so shocked to see empty prime bottles that they priced at £3 per bottle 😂. Another time a lady asked for an item she was interested in to be reduced, all we heard from the volunteer 'it's from Marks and spencer'. I am so fed up going into charity shops and finding the same stock week after week. They get it for free so just churn it out and if I'm visiting that charity shop I'm more likely to bring in stuff to them. Another annoyance is when they turn away people bringing donations. I was talking to a volunteer who was telling me about the rise in people stealing, my response was if they keep the price low people feel as if they are getting a bargain. But stuff now you can send an extra 50p and buy it new.

Charity shops near me aren't always worth the trip, in my county they are far apart, so lots of driving and petrol, it can be really disappointing, and sometimes places can be a honey hole, next time they are a pot hole! x

The point is they are pricing themselves out of the market, who is going to pay £6,50 for a worn primary dress. You can get things on vinted for £1 and bundle discounts. As for bricks a brac a lot are way over what they are worth.
