I mean even if you shoot 50% from the midrange which is elite that only equates to 33 percent from 3 which is below average. 3 pointers are obviously more efficient. But I’d say he’s average or above if we are just comparing him to everyone else’s percentage
It's not just about the shooting percentage, it's about the ability to take/create shots. Because of his elevation and high release, Livingston could get his shot off at any time under any defense under any game condition/circumstance and that creates opportunities for other players. If you're an opposing fan, that alone makes you feel helpless enough. So when he hits 2/5 of those mid range jumpers in a game vs perfect defense, you're definitely going to remember the makes over the misses
He just took so many. You’re not going to remember the 5-6 misses if he hit 2-3 game bc it’s such a noticeable pull up shot. Was surprised the amount he did miss tho lol
in real time it's not that apparent. especially when you're only looking at the sample size from a single game or series rather than a 4 year span all in one go
Maybe in the moment, the shots that he did make would be so impactful in ways that would start a big run or it would end a team dry spell. The fact people seem to have this Mandela effect about him has to mean something lol
I think he makes those shots harder than they had to be. He goes in to deep in the paint and makes it a much more heavier contest than just getting to a open space and pulling there
To all the comments: the reason it felt like Shaun the Don was always clutch is because those middys he made were during cold stretches of close games. And a lot of these misses, pretty much all of 17-19 min mark, are all big lead or garbage time. Kinda how Jordan and Kobe have more game winning misses than makes, but are regarded as always clutch. They were clutch in the biggest moments, and Shaun came up big when we needed it most. Him and iggy will never get the league wide respect they deserved. Esp Shaun with the post leg injury career and also iggy already forgotten by most warriors fans which is insane considering he was the first major free agent we got since…no one he was the first.
2 main things about Livingston's mid range jumper 1) he was very streaky: he typically missed a bunch in a row or made a bunch in a row. He'd go 0-1, 0-3, 1-3 for several games then have games where he kills you and goes 2-3 or 3-3. But at the end of the day, his percentage came out to 39% 2) he could get his shot off any time under any defense/game circumstance due to his high release/elevation. That combined with his streaky nature keeps the defense in check and creates opportunities for others. This makes you feel helpless enough as an opposing fan, especially when your team is struggling to score. But when he gets on a hot streak? You're going to remember the makes more than the misses So yes, Shaun Livingston was still a very good mid range shooter
not true, the pull up shots bring down his percentage. the fadeaway in the paint is what he's good at and shooting even over 40% on those is going to make it a memorable enough shot to look out for
He caused so many traumas because he gets going as soon as the whole Warriors team go on a roll. I think that's why his shots feel like it's going in everytime. Bro caused PTSD on so many teams throughout the whole Warriors dynasty, it's crazy lmao.
As a warriors fan, it warms my heart that there’s a Shaun Livingston Mandela effect that seemingly plagues a multitude of basketball fans in my generation
This video is why the midrange has died. Livingston was one of the "best" at it and he shot under 40% in the playoffs over a 5 year sample. That's equivalent to someone shooting 26% from 3. It's not good offense
That's why team sports is BS.😂 I wouldn't want to get blamed every time this guy goes Houston(0-27). Not the only fake one on teams who does this shit. 😂😂😂
Damn, I remember this shot going in a lot more often than it did.
Me too I'm 2:15 in and he 7/22 😂
Facts
The shots that missed were clearly AI
that actually got me
143 ai shots, dang
bro this is not funny
93/236 = 39%
That’s the same as shooting 26% from the 3pt line.
overrated!
I mean even if you shoot 50% from the midrange which is elite that only equates to 33 percent from 3 which is below average. 3 pointers are obviously more efficient. But I’d say he’s average or above if we are just comparing him to everyone else’s percentage
Bron shoots around 38-39% from mid range throughout his career and shoots 34.8% for his career from 3 so you are incorrect
@@seagull2175 he means if someone shot 26 percent from three it would be just as efficient.

I'm 100% sure he didn't miss those shots. Not possible. Impossible. He never missed a midrange.
because youre a casual, you always believe on what you saw on social media. he did miss a lot of shots and i saw it live!
I guess it was the context of the shots? Idk, but like many people I definitely remember him being automatic but numbers don’t lie
in real time it's not that apparent. especially when you're only looking at the sample size from a single game or series rather than a 4 year span all in one go
Maybe in the moment, the shots that he did make would be so impactful in ways that would start a big run or it would end a team dry spell. The fact people seem to have this Mandela effect about him has to mean something lol
no context. he just missed. all you read was fake. people just assume he ddnt miss.
I think he makes those shots harder than they had to be. He goes in to deep in the paint and makes it a much more heavier contest than just getting to a open space and pulling there
Even when he is on the free throw line and wide open he somehow makes it look unstable. 2:45 and 5:05
@@befell.4097yea that late hitch he has doesn’t help
thats how he shot it. he ddnt make it harder. he is not just the automatic in that range lol

“39% of the time, it works every time”
- Shaun Livingston
This is pretty interesting cuz as a non-warriors fan I indeed have an impression of him nailing every single mid-range shot for the longest time lmao

So yes, Shaun Livingston was still a very good mid range shooter
Shaun never missed a middy
39% from midrange
Ain't no middy like a diddy middy
such an underrated player, but was well needed by the warriors at that time.
Just like Harrison shitty Barnes in the finals 😂
Tiktok made him overrated because now people think he went 1309/1309 from middy
@ which wasn’t true at all, tiktok smh
He's actually a horrible mid-range shooter, don't get me started on his 3pt shooting. Idk how ppl genuinely think he's automatic from the middy lol.
Idk bro watching the finals back in the day it feels as if he made every mid range jumper 😂😂 maybe it’s just cuz I was rooting against his team idk
It’s a certain spot he gets to especially his fadeaway
God damn fucking Mandela effect
not true, the pull up shots bring down his percentage. the fadeaway in the paint is what he's good at and shooting even over 40% on those is going to make it a memorable enough shot to look out for
Boy stop hating

He was very good with the turn around jumper.
Ive been thinkin exact same thing for the last few years!
Best mid range game of all time.
FIGHT ME 😤😤
Dude shot 39% from mid range. He's not even a top 15 mid range shooters and it's not close.
Dirk Nowitzki
Youre crazy bro even Kawhi was better 😂
casual.
taking out the 1995 Chateau Lynch-Bages for this one
When old heads complain about players not taking middies much here's a video to show them lol
Now do Harrison Barnes in 2016 finals. 😂
That mfer was ass in that series 😂😂
Y'all do see this is playoffs right. Were talking regular season his stat sheets shows zero missed midranges
I remember the ones he kept hitting against Bron and the Cavs in the finals so demoralizing smh
He could of miss a 1000 shots, and people would think he's wet and that his 10000 bricks aren't a part of the team problem. 😂
yall think he so good cos he a role player whose role is to create a shot for himself in the packed up middy. Thats a great role that he did well.
Someone send the black suvs to bro
and people said his midrange can be compared to Mike Kd or kawhi lol🤣🤣
Reminds me so much of Derozan now
not even close. derozan doing it for years and much better lol .
Shots he's taking are bullshit too. Like the ones Klay is taking.
Shot bricks all around America 😂
Why do all the tik tok kids glaze this guy
Yo said TikTok kids, it’s just a joke
I remember watching finals and it looked like he doesn't miss
I mean, he was a good story lol
I got mandela effect
Shaun missington.
Prime example of the Mandela Effect
AI is getting too dangerous these days
clown
Awesome video!
0:34 this guy is trash
master mid range my a&& lol

Mid range jump shooters are highly overrated by people (old heads) who just hate three point shots..

Bro is trash
his jumper so mid
