I am still healthy at age 77. Just started walking 30 minutes a day a few weeks ago. Good idea.

I’m 64. I walk 4x20 min at least to take my dog on his walks daily. Once a week I take my dog in a stroller and I do 4-5 km at park connectors. i also rebound. Carry groceries for weight bearing exercises!
Sometimes I stop like midday for a few minutes and reflect or even say out loud “what have I been doing the last 2 hrs or so?” I don’t do this religiously but I’m certain I’ll remember to do this as an exercise because generally doing reflections (processing my thoughts) is something I enjoy doing from time to time.

Walking is good for the people who have challenge in standing. It otherwise does not do much at all.

    Sounds very familiar,
Recently i just watched a documentary called Inside Bill's Brain. A documentary on Bill Gates.
In the documentary they say that whenever Bill has something to think about he would walk.
And Bill is now in his 60s and still has a very sharp intellect.

It is very important to exercise safely. Work closely with and check with your doctor before embarking on any kind of exercise or level of intensity of exercise that you have not done before. Brisk walking is good, but only if it is safe for a person to do.

That is a good question! I live in Surrey, BC and have a gym in my building with lots if equipment and of course some treadmills. I have found walking outdoors is always better because you are out in the fresh air and can pick different walking routes each day for another experience. In winter, I should be happy to go down to the gym, right? I rarely do as the gym attracts those dedicated achievers that push themselves hard. It is a closed space and it does not appeal to me. Just my two cents worth. I tell myself that I will walk outside when the weather allows buy the break in the walking routine has it's challenges for some senior guy like me who needs to stay motivated everyday.
