The biggest one is BACK. And that club, the hostlers, do two shows one in the Evanston Roundhouse and one in the Ogden Union Station. The Ogden show was stopped because of Covid restrictions, last year they had it in the mall because the depot was still closed. Mall show was tiny. In one of the defunct stores. Tiny… anyway this year it’s back and the buzz is going off!! Everyone talking about it. Betting it the biggest show ever! I’ll keep people informed.

Another wonderful episode! I just LOVE train shows!!! I really enjoyed seeing every modular and layout. I even enjoyed the Lego train layouts which is highly unusual for me because I'm just NOT a Lego guy. I like the enthusiasm from this kid showing off his fictional railroad. 👉 3:14 You can see he loves what he's doing...enjoying the hobby! We NEED more kids like him! You're right when you said, in this episode, that the kids must get "excited" by the model railroading hobby to keep it going (or continuing). The hobby will NOT survive without the next generation. I enjoyed every minute of this train show. Do more shows like this. And thanks for letting me tag along! 👍😉

And! The Ogden train show is back!! Well it was moved to the mall. Sucked. Small. No dealers. But this year BACK AT THE OGDEN TRAIN DEPOT!!! Huge show. We’ve talked to several dealers and they are coming back. From as far the west coast. And we can take the train to get there because it’s at the train station. Again! And we are betting 10,000 people show up over the three days.

Great show we are having one here in my area in February. At one of the mall's in my area this weekend they had 2 Ho layouts and one N scale layout on display that was fun and inspiring to see. The kids that I saw there were so excited to see the trains running and so were the adults. Love and always look for to you show.

L has a few sub groups when it comes to trains. The more realistic trains are typically in 8 Studs wide. Lego's train sets are typically 6 Studs wide. There are few people using 7, 9 or 10 studs wide which have a higher barrier of entry due to design complexity or the expense caused by the extra bricks required for the larger widths. They all typically run on the same 6 Wide track although there are small groups of people running trains on 4 Wide or 5 Wide track. Much like other scales the 3D printing has a allowed much more flexibility when it comes to parts.

Dale, as the many times you and Karyn have attended these many different model train shows, one might believe your car just might know the way to the destination automatically. Actually, this would only be wishful thinking in 2023, but alas, it might actually be the reality in the very near future. I did notice one of those displays at the show was showing a Great Lakes Ore Ship in the dock being unloaded. Since it is still wintertime on the Great Lakes, here is a link to a serene video of the post-dusk scenery from the SOO LOCKS from Streamtime LIVE. This is from the tower cam in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. Link: ruclips.net/video/9bGiaeOEahE/видео.html

The trainshow in Cheyenne and Loveland I hardly see kids there. A few years ago I saw more, mostly at the LEGO layout, but this past November at the little Rocky Mountain Train Show as I call it in Loveland, there really were not many kids there , a lot of O scale Lyonel sellers. I have video'd Wasatch's layout's over the past few years but this one was bigger than they bring to Cheyenne but i do see the same modules as I have recorded.

We get lots of kids!! The local NMRA teaches kids to make “pizza box “ layouts. They are getting about 200 kids a month. 200 a month!!!! They have helped about 5,000 kids to build a layout. They are presenting this at national convention in a few weeks.

That train show would have been a blast to go see. Maybe I'll keep my schedule open for at least one of the next ones that are coming up this year.
At 2:28 I have the same issue trying to couple my cars on my N scale train set. They just don't seem to want to work without a little help from a toothpick.
I'm impressed at the young lad with his fantasy railway, and his knowledge of events past, like the Thistle slide. Also he has a cool Willie Nelson t-shirt.
At 6:10 that is a long tanker set. I'm hoping that's going to happen at our new proposed Uintah Railway if it ever gets built. The plans are still in the works though! It'll go through Whitmore park and Indian canyon.
I was impressed at the Lego layout. I loved and had Legos as a kid, but never to this extent!
Wow! The Wasatch N-Scalers have a fantastic layout! I love the fall theme. The military training module was awesome too. Of course all of it was impressive. It seems that you had left the best part for last.
Thanks again for another great video!

Hi again!!!! Good train show. They had to say no to many clubs because it such a small room. But they are looking at a place at Gardner Village that’s about four times the size. And at Gardner there are shops and restaurants and the old mill. And it’s on the light railway with its own station. I’m betting it would be a great move if they do it. But it would be a move out of Utah Valley and as they are the only show in utah valley I’m guessing some of the southern wasatch people would cry no fair! But common.. it’s about nine miles. Anyway it’s a small room.. great location but small.
