Hi Sarah as someone with both rosacea and eczema, I'm naturally deficient in ceramides as part of the disease process. I use moisturisers with and without ceramides and tbh texture/occlusivity is more important for me. My moisturiser needs to moisturise and prevent my other products evaporating - that's it. I do use an oil, as my skin no longer produces sebum (eczema and menopause) under a moisturiser for the emollient benefits. I like moisturisers with urea and shea butter - works great on my skin. Cereve burns/stings and is arguably the most famous ceramide formulation. The regimen labs and stratia are not easy to get here tbh. At the moment I'm trialling the new Altruist face cream for daytime under an spf and I already use their 10% urea body cream as a night cream for face/neck/chest. Really affordable, seals in my other skincare and makes my skin feel comfortable. I don't buy expensive moisturisers (or cleansers) and instead spend on serums/actives and spf. I can't really say i've noted that many extra benefits from products containing ceramides. They're a nice addition, but not something I really seek out tbh. Many ceramide containing moisturisers don't work on my super dry skin - just a thought. Best wishes.
I ordered The Regimen Labs VitaminX serum and I love it. See an improvement in my skin and it’s packed with 13 high potency antioxidants which eliminate packing on several serums. Best I ever used
the Rovectin Barrier Repair Face/Body Cream is an amazing barrier repair moisturizer, i have oily skin but still find its a perfect nighttime moisturizer thats not too heavy but has enough occlusivity, and it isnt greasy or really heavy at all but i still think people with dry or combo skin could also use it too, i find the texture and consistency is so agreeable for so many skin types
Thank you for this. I now have one of these in my shopping cart. I burned my skin with Tretinoin and found that ceramides have helped a lot. Something no one has ever mentioned.
I love the RNW serum because it is very soothing to my skin. One of my favorite ceramide products is DeliKate Recovery Serum from Kate Somerville. It contains three ceramides with cholesterol, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-8, and another interesting ingredient-ectoin-that is supposed to help UVA-damaged skin. I can’t tell if the serum is doing that but my face does seem brighter and healthier. It’s pricey but I got it on super-sale at Ulta a while back. Happy Tuesday 😊
Glad you’re talking about this, i’ve been leaving comments on many of Dr.Dray’s videos asking her thoughts on the reddit thread but either she ignores me or hasn’t read (even though I’ve seen her reply to comments made after me). Anyways, we have petrolatum that’s tried and true for barrier repair and Naicinamide for barrier strengthening.
Some people probably just don't want to know the truth that all these brands have been hiding this information from us for years. Ceramide marketing makes a lot of big brands a lot of quick and easy money.
I use Illyoon when my skin barrier is really bad. It reminds me of the CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Moisturizer, both of which are somewhat occlusive. Personally, I love them both!
Oh my gosh! Our Minnesota winters can REALLY suck the life out of our skin. Thank you for so many great suggestions! Definitely a few to add to my must try list! A few years ago I was on the verge of buying the Skinsceuticals triple lipid cream but SO expensive so I didn't pull the trigger. I find layering really helps (especially my beloved Sukoyaka Suhada Urea moisture essence/lotion). I've recently tried Dr. Jart+Ceramidin Cream....super rich and lovely...will see how it works this winter!

Great video. Look for the ingredient Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate. If this is present its probably the premixed ceramide product that may not be in the correct ratio and in a very low quantity. Man made ceramides may be good which appear in illiyoon, zeroid and Curel. Regemin Labs ceramide cream is great.
You are right, that premixed Ceramide product just does not contain enough for it to be effective. Won't hurt skin, but just not as effective as we have been led to believe.
Love your hair today! You look super classy with your beautiful fair skin!! And by the way, thank you for the detailed review on ceramides. Honestly, it’s beyond me, so I am just going to take your word and recommendation : ).
Oh thank you so much! Sometimes a little change is a good thing. It is super complex stuff, took me days to fully digest it all. That's what fascinates me about Skincare.
Hi Sarah, Great video! I'm loving Stratia Liquid Gold, it's really helped my moisture barrier. Am curious about Regimen Lab, so may put in an order for that. Do you have any thoughts on the ceramide content and/or effectiveness of the SkinFix moisturizer? You mentioned it in an earlier video on products worth the splurge. I haven't tried it yet, but am planning to start it as soon as our Canadian weather cools down 😉
Celimax Dual Barrier line is pretty good so far, I bought the toner, serum and moisturizer.. each contain 5 types of ceramides and Heptasodium Hexacarboxymethyl Dipeptide-12 plus no fragrance! The ingredients are almost the same just different textures. Lmk your thoughts!!
I'm going to have to check that out- I've only tried a few of their products so far but this one sounds promising! I added it to my shopping cart so will definitely give it a try!
Love your new video and I have to say it's all brand new information to me. I tried a bunch of ceramides products from various brands. I love PC’s omega moisturizer. It's soothing and relieving. However, it's not moisturizing enough and I have to use another moisturizer on top of it. I think it's best to be used in summer. Another one is PC ceramide enriched firming moisturizer which I also adore because it brightens my skin and smoothes fine lines but again it doesn't provide enough moisture. It's more of a serum than a moisturizer so bare in mind if you have dry skin you will need another moisturizer for that extra moisture and to seal everything in. I also tried Elizabeth Arden ceramide capsules but I didn't like the oily film that was left on my skin after using it. I have to say it felt luxurious and somehow I liked the silky texture of the serum. I wish it dried instead of just sitting at the top of my skin and then transferring (staining) to my pillow. The last one is also from PC and it's their calm serum which I’m addicted to. It gives an instant soothing relief sensation and it helps the skin to heal rapidly. Finally, I’m going to try the regimen lab one because it sounds interesting and promising.
Hiya Sarah . . . I have use, on body, *CUREL ITCH DEFENSE* for SO many years I cannot recall. I do not know if there is proof of how much and which ceramides are in there etc, I just know that it works. Was wondering if, with your pro sleuthing talents if you can look into at all. I see the Natl. Eczema Assoc. approves it, but who knows what that even means nowadays. I do not have eczema btw but am a ocean swimmer (wild swimming) then chlorine pools too so my skin takes a beating. Thanks for considering or any tips to seek out if possible. *Says . . . Advanced Ceramide Complex*
Another very informative video, and on a must have ingredient for the dry/mature skin folks. I used up a bottle of the Inkey List ceramide treatment last winter, but it was blah, didn't do much for me. The Regimen Labs is very interesting, since I really only want a simple ceramide moisturizer, no actives or hyaluronic acid. I think that the Mad About Skin moisturizer is at the top of my try list, hope Rob gets it up and running soon!
Great video!!! You are so smart. It's surprising that cerave products weren't on the list. I'm thinking that the ratio you are talking about must be off in those? I wonder what you think about a product that my sensitive acne prone skin loves. It's an equate beauty (Walmart) dupe for the cerave daily moisturizing lotion. So affordable that I slather it on at bedtime and my skin just drinks it lol. I am planning to try your Pacifica suggestion for a matte finish in the morning after serums. Thanks
I'm thinking it's because CeraVe isn't cruelty free. I have rosacea so I have to use a ceramide loaded moisturizer twice a day. Otherwise, my skin looks and feels awful after a few days. CeraVe PM saved my skin! I'm open to trying others, but it's hard to beat their price for the amount you get and the amazing results 🤔
Would you please address the issue of fragrance allergies? I am one of the 11% of the population that has true fragrance allergies, and I think most people confuse them with contact sensitivity, which is an entirely different condition. Breathing in the fragrance molecules causes a variety of reactive inflammatory reactions.
I'm so sorry you have to deal with that- I'm sure you have to be very careful with what you use- because like you said, it is a much different and more severe issue than "sensitive skin" will have to do a more in depth video on this in the future.
Nice piece of information @ No BS Beauty..i like your videos a lot as they are full of information, mostly. Can you please give your views on the ceramide products of Elizabeth Arden?
OMG....I was biting my nails 😅😅..while you were going through the list of products you mentioned.....AND then!!!??? What happened to Cerave!!!!???.. 😶....Anyway, enjoying that RNW serum.....
Thank you for doing the research, very interesting! I’ve got a nerd question: so I’ve heard that using olive oil in skin care increases TEWL, do you happen to know if that means we should avoid olive oil derivatives like Cetearyl Olivate, Ethylhexyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate? those are in the peace out product.
I'm going to have to do some more reading on that, but at least with cetearyl olivate and Sorbitan Olivate from what I've read it does not increase TEWL, but that might not be the case with the other ethylhexyl olivate- I've seen some conflicting information on that one, I'll have to keep reading before I fully make up my mind on that one, might be a good topic for another video on TEWL.
@@NOBSBeauty I looked into it a little more and what I think I'm getting (as a totally unqualified researcher) is that olive oil has a high oleic acid to linoleic/linolenic acid ratio, hence applying pure 100% olive oil to skin weakens the skin barrier. However, a good cosmetic chemist can use components of olive oil as supporting ingredients in formulas without issue. Like, don't take my word for it, I was an art major, lol, but I don't think I'll bother avoiding the olivate ingredients afterall.
Thank you for this informative information I was not aware about the ceramide percentages 👀 I’m currently using stratia liquid gold. It’s nice but I find I get little pimples when I use it. I just purchased the regimen so I’ll compare both products but looking at their other products online they seem to have amazing products. Would the regimen cream break me out or clog my pores?
The regimen Cream is pretty thick, I'll review it asap. It does have a few Acnegenic ingredients. I typically apply it to specific dry areas, like my neck around my eyes and mouth as opposed to over my entire face.
@@NOBSBeauty thank you for your reply 🙏🏼 It would be so good if you could create a video for anti ageing and acne skin care you would recommend. PLS 😬 xo I use dr Sam bunting skin care products but I’m from Australia and it’s just becoming too expensive for me to afford. 😭
I have very oily, acne-prone skin, and I'm really enjoying the Stratia Liquid Gold. It's a light lotion texture that doesn't leave a super greasy, dewy, or wet finish. I've heard that it was formulated to be oily-skin friendly. However, it's a little too rich for me to use during the day, so I'm really interested in trying the RNW serum.
Recently discovered ‘A. Florence’ skincare through online research which is a brand out of the UK that is ceramide focused. Would love to know your thoughts on them, they give off “clean and natural” vibes but they’re actually fragrance free and the formulas look to be great. Am considering giving them a try but would love your take! ❤️
From what I understand Paula's Choice uses the premixed Ceramide ingredient, unless they add more it probably isn't the ideal ratio, that being said, it still has some other nice ingredients in it, and if it's worked for you in the past probably not a reason to stop using it.
paula's Choice oil free moisturizer is my favorite these days . it's holy grail. other thing klair's midnight blue youth activating serum is also good option . it's great . thanks 😀❤️
Hi Sarah. Great video. Very informative. I've noticed that all of the products containing ceramides have them listed very low in the list of ingredients. This has made me think they aren't doing much. I've been using a ceramides lotion from the K beauty brand Illiyoon. I love it, but like you said it is probably the other ingredients that are giving me good results.
It's a shame that these brands still sell products based on containing ceramides, especially since they are so expensive most brands just don't want to pay that much for raw ingredients, but instead they just keep advertising it and most people aren't aware that it's all really just marketing. Illiyoon has some wonderful products, going to be reviewing their new Derma ceramide line soon.
Interesting information. I can see why you deliberated over it for so long! The Paula’s Choice omega serum also appears to have a good amount of ceramides and doesn’t use the sk influx pre blend- ive had good results with that- but who knows. Might finally have to place my regimen labs order!
The cream from regimen is quite impressive. It's the first real Ceramide product that has made a huge difference in my neck, which is typically very sensitive and reactive. I certainly wouldn't say Ceramide products are bad, but just not as effective as we have all been led to believe over the past few years, especially with Ceramide focused brands such as cerave.
Which of these is the thickest/heaviest? My face is raw 😭 I use the cerave overnight renewing moisturizer, a more lightweight hydrating one from neogen I love, and I’ve been trying the skin&lab madecera cream which is nice and nourishing but I have to layer each one 2-3 times and the cerave 4-5 times all on top of each other
I really like that one, too. Really nice and soothing, my guess is it doesn't have the proper ratio, but still contains some other nice beneficial ingredients so I'd probably keep using it.
Can you do a video on haircare? What shampoos do you use? Do you color it yourself or get it done? How do you get that “straight hair” look? You got gorgeous hair!
Oh thank you so much! I defintely have to do this- I did a Top Ten Hair Care Products video a few months ago. I do get it colored, my gal does an amazing and fast job on it. I usually use a beachwaver curling iron, but occasionally just using a flat iron really quick is a nice change. I currently use a really old conair flat iron, it has to be at least 10-12 years old, just recently thinking of picking up a new one so I can straighten it a bit better. My Top Ten Hair Care video is here: ruclips.net/video/DHkMvirNYdw/видео.html
I know a little off-topic, but I was wondering what would be better for teen skin …the new stress free serum from Geek and gorgeous OR Paula’s choice oil free moisturizer OR another option?**Skin type: teenage acne prone skin /dryness from BP (starting Differin). I love your videos and reviews please keep posting♥️♥️
I think if it were me I'd go with the Stress Less Serum. It's got two major proven ingredients- beta glucan & Madecassoside acid. I think both are really beneficial for skin soothing and repairing as well as protecting skin. Friendly for acne prone skin and work well in both morning and evening routines.
Just received a brand new bottle of Stratia Liquid Gold (third X). I think of it as more of an oil/lotion than a ceramide cream. It’s texture is wonderful. I really like Regimen Labs, have tried their vitamin X and Level serum. I haven’t tried their ceramide cream yet. The reviews say it’s really thick. Might be something for winter. One that you missed is the Glow Recipe avocado 🥑 recover cream. I didn’t like it, it burned.
The regimen Lab Cream is REALLY thick, which probably goes to show it has the correct Ceramide/fatty acid/cholesterol ratios. Working wonders on my neck as speak! 😍
I finished my RNW and am now using Holika Holika Good Cera for Ceramides. Unfortunately, the brand is not cruelty free, so I won’t repurchase but I have my eyes on the Regimen Lab Cream. ❤️❤️
I've heard good things about the Good Cera Serum- I wish they were cruelty free. It can be so hard to find that info out with a lot of kbeauty brands. You'll have to let me know how you end up liking it and how it compares to the RNW! I'm loving the RNW- adds so nicely into my routine!
If your skin tends to be normal-oily I'd go with the Paula's Choice Clear Oil Free Moisturizer. If your skin tends to be dry or dehydrated I'd go with the Pacifica Vegan Ceramide Barrier Face Cream.
Sorry for all the questions lol. Have you tried the Sukoyaka Sumada Urea Moisture Toner? If so, your thoughts on it? I had to check Amazon daily to find it in stock..since they are so often out.
yea I find as well that sub-optimally formulated ceramide products do less than even just something like centella + niacinamide plus a silicone or another occlusive. and there's no way to evaluate it unless they explicitly state what's in there in what ratios. it's been a while since I read this post so I guess it's time to re-read. I've used to use the AMPLEN Ceramide Shot Ampoule and the illiyoon ato concentrate cream with good results and I still do like them both but I doubt the ceramides are what makes me lile them aha.
It is a shame that more skincare brands aren't transparent in exactly how much of each ingredient is included in their products. Until that happens it is so hard to tell what ingredient does the work in each product. This post is so heavy- takes so much time to digest, but so informative!
@@NOBSBeauty haha agreed. I appreciate the brands like Good Molecules that started show exact %s of all ingredients. Meanwhile, I can't even get Eucerin to tell me how much Urea is in their basic product. They hit me with a "that's proprietary" as if they're so special. I just wanna know if it's 5/10/15% urea so I know what areas it's appropriate to usr it in, cmon :(
Elta Md Barrier Renewal Complex's second ingredient is Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, which is likely very pore-clogging (branching on both sides of the ester and the molecule isn't large enough to be non-pore-clogging).
The CeraVe does not (not do any of their products, sadly). I'm not sure about the Illiyoon either-it is hard to tell the exact amounts of the ceramides in it, although it seems to work well for a lot of people, so that is always a good sign. I really enjoyed it- especially for skin that tends to be on the oilier side- a lot of people with oily and acne prone skin find it works quite nicely for them.
Will have to try the regimen lab after I finish my peace out. Peace out moisturizer finally is fading some persistent redness I’ve had under my nose for almost a year (probably from overexfoliating a sensitive area of my face). Still red because starting rosacea but much better looking.
The Peace Out Moisturizer really impressed me, I didn't have my hopes too high, but especially for the price it is a good product. The Regiman Lab Cream is nice, it is THICK but really hydrating, cannot wait to use it this winter when my skin gets so dry, not much works, but I think their Cream will do the trick!
Would love a review / thoughts on the new Glow Recipe vitamin c serum! I heard it’s supposedly fragrance free as is their other latest serum with ceramides (soothing avocado I believe?)
You're in luck- will be reviewing it- I was very excited to pick it up once I saw the ingredient list- Once I saw tranexamic acid as well as the other vitamin c ingredients I was convinced I wanted to give it a try!
Oh yeah, ceramides in the winter are a godsend! We don't get as cold as you guys, but my skin has definitely gotten drier/more sensitive as I've gotten "wiser". ;)
I love that ceremedx facial moisturizer! Gonna order my 3rd bottle soon. For reference, I have combo acne prone skin and alternate tretinoin 0.1% and the Paulas choice 2% salicylic acid redness reducing exfoliant at night! I use this moisturizer AM and PM. Very moisturizing without being greasy. Doesn't pill with my skincare either
Ceramedx is quite nice-their body lotion is also wonderful, super hydrating- one of the only things that does the trick during the cold dry minnesota winter.
Was thinking about it.. I'm EAGER to find a good matt - or at least "natural" -finish moisturizsr.. Do you think the Ceramedx one would do it for me? TIA
@@m.younis9849 the body lotion isnt matte per se, but it does leave a natural finish. I didnt enjoy the amount of silicones in it causing my other stuff to pill but that could have been user error. The ceramedx tub lotion is much thicker and emollient until morning after I put it on.
Sorry to have to disapoint everyone with the truth. Kind of a bummer, but at least we are aware of it. Took me forever to really pare this information down, but nothing wrong with ceramides, just sad that most/almost all brands just don't use them in enough quanity for them to really be effective.
This is great to know! I do not need more, so not a ingredient I will search out. Thank you! I just need to retain all the info I keep getting the last few months, need a skincare to help with my memory. 😂
Great video. I learned something new about ceramides. I'm currently using the Ceramedx Soothing Facial Lotion and I love it. But the Regimen Labs CREAM looks intriguing.
I've been intending to review my Indeed products. Their Ceramide Cream is quite nice- although if you have acne prone skin be cautious with it. Good ceramides as well as shea butter, squalane, and beta glucan. I think it is a nice product - a bit thick, but overall nice for very dry skin. And no fragrance either!
Interesting. I felt that the Paula’s Choice Omega complex moisturizer healed my rosacea prone moisturizer and it contains somewhere in the middle, but I guess the ratio can’t be correct. I’ve started using the DRMTLGY soothe and recover cream with my new curology prescription and it’s going well so far.
That moisturizer is full of lots of good ingredients so if it's worked in the past no reason to stop using it. If you notice it isn't as effective for hydrating your skin then the regimen Lab Cream might be worth checking out.
It can be hard to tell, and sometimes you won't know until you try it out, but it does seem to work well for breakout prone as well as oilier skin types. I'll review it in the next week or so- the acnegenic ingredients are: stearyl alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol. incidecoder.com/products/pacifica-vegan-ceramide-barrier-face-cream

You totally talked me into it- going to have to take a quick trip this afternoon! It's like an easter egg hunt and sometimes there are some awesome steals there- and Ike and Lincoln always appreciate new doggie toys, too!
Ceramide is one of my skin favourite ingredients, I hated the oily feeling of Elizabeth Arden ceramide capsules...having bought 180 capsules whilst I was in America....way cheaper than in Singapore, I needed to finish the last 30 capsules before the end of its shelf life recently. To combat the oily texture, I had a sheet mask on top of it lol...I know it is a waste of product, but 1 mth later, I noticed my deep wrinkle reduced to a fine line. Right now I am trying out Real Barrier Extreme cream, wish it isn't scented. Also on my list of purchases is Dr Jart+ ceramidin cream. Tony Moly ceramide toner has 5000 parts per billion...I wonder how effective that is going to be but used it as my first step after cleansing if I had to do a wash-off mask, massage etc. Also had in my unopen stash Ample:N ceramide ampoule. ^_^.
I also really with the Real Barrier Cream was fragrance free- they have so many wonderful products but I cannot help but think they would be much better if there was no scent to them. Such a bummer. The TonyMoly toner is nice, but how little ceramides in it I don't think they are the ingredient doing the work in the toner.
I too tried EA ceramide capsules and finished the whole container but I never reorder it them again. I couldn't stand the oily texture it left on my skin. It seemed like my skin could never absorb it.
I always figured ceramides, like many other ingredients, are just a good skin moisturizer more than anything else. So not worthless, but not a miracle. I try to put my money into scientifically proven things like tretinoin and sunscreen. Everything else is just a fun experiment, including ceramides.☺️
It was kind of a depressing task going through and eliminating about 50% of the products I initially had as favorites realizing so many didn't have nearly as much ceramides as I originally thought.
I think you're probably on to something, so much of what we know and understand about Skincare has been marketed and fed to us by big brands looking to make more money.
For the last 3-4 months, my favorite ceramide product for the face is the Curel Intensive moisture cream. It has pseudo ceramides. The texture is so good. It is a little pricey though but I think it's the type of moisturizer I can use AM/PM and in multiple climates.
Hey, I just thought I’d share Reddit really isn’t the best place to get credible information. Anyone can say they are an expert in anything and write something that would otherwise get people to try products they ‘know’ has a correct ‘ratio’ for a said product. It’s interesting but just throwing that out there to take someone’s word on a Reddit post with a grain of salt unless there’s further qualitative research out into that

As long as she stays true to scientific evidence and the well-being of her viewers, she deserves to get paid for her hard work especially since she's invested the time and money towards her continuing education and qualifications.
That was excellent! Thanks so much Sarah! 💕🌹💕🌹 The links and write up are so great.
Great and informative video! Thank you for doing all of the hard work and research. I just purchased the Regimen cream and I can’t wait to use it. ❤️
I do not know if
there is proof of how much and which ceramides are in there etc, I just know that it works. Was wondering if,
with your pro sleuthing talents if you can look into at all. I see the Natl. Eczema Assoc. approves it, but who
knows what that even means nowadays. I do not have eczema btw but am a ocean swimmer (wild swimming)
then chlorine pools too so my skin takes a beating.
Please make a similar video about alpha arbutin!
2nd that.
Ooh definitely will have to do that!
@@NOBSBeauty You are so dedicated, thank you! I really appreciate you and your camera-shy husband.
I've also read that people w/ eczema are missing ceramides 1, 3, and 5
Would you please address the issue of fragrance allergies?
I had no idea about cerimides. Thank you for the education!
Wondering why I never knew this until now lol. Thank God for educated influencers
I love both Krave Great Barrier Relief and Stratia Liquid Gold. Not sure of the levels but both seem to work well.
The liquid gold is heaven in a bottle🥰😂
Love how you explain in details.. :)
Amazing video as usual..
Oh thank you so much, I appreciate your kind comment!
OMG....I was biting my nails 😅😅..while you were going through the list of products you mentioned.....AND then!!!??? What happened to Cerave!!!!???.. 😶....Anyway, enjoying that RNW serum.....
Wow thank you! So is niacinamide the same & coud u do a review of truly beauty 💕💗
@@NOBSBeauty thank you for your reply 🙏🏼
It would be so good if you could create a video for anti ageing and acne skin care you would recommend.
Do you like glam glow moisturizer face mask blue container?
Do you know where I can purchase Regimen lab in Canada?
Online.
Hey, what about Paula’s Choice omega & fatty acid moisturizer and serum?
From what I understand Paula's Choice uses the premixed Ceramide ingredient, unless they add more it probably isn't the ideal ratio, that being said, it still has some other nice ingredients in it, and if it's worked for you in the past probably not a reason to stop using it.
@@NOBSBeauty
It’s working pretty well. But I would like to try some of your recommendations. Thank u!
Can you mix ceramides w vitamin c? Allies of skin didn’t make it either.
paula's Choice oil free moisturizer is my favorite these days . it's holy grail. other thing klair's midnight blue youth activating serum is also good option . it's great . thanks 😀❤️
@@NOBSBeauty I will be looking forward to that review.
My face is raw 😭 I use the cerave overnight renewing moisturizer, a more lightweight hydrating one from neogen I love, and I’ve been trying the skin&lab madecera cream which is nice and nourishing but I have to layer each one 2-3 times and the cerave 4-5 times all on top of each other
Just checked my bioderma intensive baume and I think the ratio meets the requirements 😬
Very interesting. I wonder if my favorite moisturizer is a good one - it is the cetaphil night cream for redness I just love the feel of it on my face
I really like that one, too. Really nice and soothing, my guess is it doesn't have the proper ratio, but still contains some other nice beneficial ingredients so I'd probably keep using it.
@@NOBSBeauty I might try the Vanicream one- I have a 40% off CVS coupon and 3 extra bucks burning holes in my purse haha
@@NOBSBeauty thank you so much! 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you!!! Been loving Regimen Lab !!!
I've been so happy with them- such a great brand, so glad I found them early this year- my skin is so happy with their goodies!
@@NOBSBeauty I live in Canada and I had no idea about them until your review. My face thanks you!
Can you recommend the best one for under makeup application?
If your skin tends to be normal-oily I'd go with the Paula's Choice Clear Oil Free Moisturizer. If your skin tends to be dry or dehydrated I'd go with the Pacifica Vegan Ceramide Barrier Face Cream.
Thank you!!
I use that Vanicream moisturizer, and I really like it.
What about Ample:N crramide shot ample? Is this product good? I've been using this. It's pretty cheap. Serous question.
Going to review it in the next week, very nice product- really enjoy that as well as their peptide ampoule!
Sorry for all the questions lol. Have you tried the Sukoyaka Sumada Urea Moisture Toner? If so, your thoughts on it? I had to check Amazon daily to find it in stock..since they are so often out.
@Zoeberry I have it and use both it and my NIOD Saccharide mist everyday morning and night. It's incredible!
yea I find as well that sub-optimally formulated ceramide products do less than even just something like centella + niacinamide plus a silicone or another occlusive. and there's no way to evaluate it unless they explicitly state what's in there in what ratios. it's been a while since I read this post so I guess it's time to re-read.
Does Cerave Moisturizing Cream count as one with the correct ratio? What about Illiyoon Ato-Ceramide cream?
Wow, this is important - great job. thanks!
Thank you for all your hard work!
@@NOBSBeauty agh I’m so excited!!!!! Thank you for always giving us the content we want and need💙💙
Oh yeah, ceramides in the winter are a godsend! We don't get as cold as you guys, but my skin has definitely gotten drier/more sensitive as I've gotten "wiser". ;)
Winter is so brutal here- vaseline is such a necessary some days when it is way below zero- and if it is windy it is even worse.
TIA
@@m.younis9849 try illiyoon ceramide ato cream
@@m.younis9849 the ceremedex isn't dewy or greasy. It isn't matt though. More of a natural finish once it sinks in and dries
@@m.younis9849 the body lotion isnt matte per se, but it does leave a natural finish. I didnt enjoy the amount of silicones in it causing my other stuff to pill but that could have been user error. The ceramedx tub lotion is much thicker and emollient until morning after I put it on.
Very helpful and eye opening. Thanks.
Sorry to have to disapoint everyone with the truth. Kind of a bummer, but at least we are aware of it. Took me forever to really pare this information down, but nothing wrong with ceramides, just sad that most/almost all brands just don't use them in enough quanity for them to really be effective.
@@NOBSBeauty Thanks for doing this video. I wouldn’t have ever questioned it.

Great video. I learned something new about ceramides. I'm currently using the Ceramedx Soothing Facial Lotion and I love it. But the Regimen Labs CREAM looks intriguing.
I know this is a older video but what about the indeed labs in ceramide cream ?
I've been intending to review my Indeed products. Their Ceramide Cream is quite nice- although if you have acne prone skin be cautious with it. Good ceramides as well as shea butter, squalane, and beta glucan. I think it is a nice product - a bit thick, but overall nice for very dry skin. And no fragrance either!
@@NOBSBeauty do you think its too heavy for a day moisturizer?
Anybody used Seiso Japanese brand Pure Ceramide line?
Comparison to cheaps a store was brilliant! That clicked.
I also turned to Drmtlgy Soothe and Recover and it worked great! It is made for use with Tretinoin
The one and only time I’ve tried ceramide was EA ceramide capsules that were a free gift. It stung my face and made me break out. 😕.
Would love your review of the new Ghost Democracy Ceramide Cream
Been meaning to pick it up- definitely interested in that as well as their newer peptide mist!
will the pacifica ceramide cream break me out ?
It can be hard to tell, and sometimes you won't know until you try it out, but it does seem to work well for breakout prone as well as oilier skin types. I'll review it in the next week or so- the acnegenic ingredients are: stearyl alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol. incidecoder.com/products/pacifica-vegan-ceramide-barrier-face-cream

Thank you for your research.
Agree. Tret is proven. What are your thoughts on vitamin c? Im on the fence on vit c because it oxidizes and its hassle to store it in the fridge

Exactly.. Im also kinda on the fence on vitamin C and ceramides. Probably just stick to tret and sunscreen.
For the last 3-4 months, my favorite ceramide product for the face is the Curel Intensive moisture cream. It has pseudo ceramides. The texture is so good. It is a little pricey though but I think it's the type of moisturizer I can use AM/PM and in multiple climates.
Whats your skin type?
Combination (oily in the T zone, dry everywhere else) and dehydrated
Hey, I just thought I’d share Reddit really isn’t the best place to get credible information. Anyone can say they are an expert in anything and write something that would otherwise get people to try products they ‘know’ has a correct ‘ratio’ for a said product. It’s interesting but just throwing that out there to take someone’s word on a Reddit post with a grain of salt unless there’s further qualitative research out into that
Ceramides, yassss, did the skunk go away? Lol
Don't have a clear favorite yet, only a least favorite (CeraVe).
