I think that’s what the channel is turning into. Big shot knife maker X asked me if I wanted to take a look… TBH I miss videos where Nick opens 50 lbs of TSA confiscations and analyzes what the everyman carries.
@@NickShabazz not sure that the other gentleman read my comment as I intended. Your position in the knife community is well earned Mr. Shabazz. I’m certainly a bit jealous of the company you keep. 😉
Although I will never own this knife, I really like the innovation that went into the design and operating mechanism! Thinking outside the box!! Thanks for the video, Nick!
Nick, bats, you continuously and perpetually amuse me while simultaneously informing me, while p.s. simultaneously and unintentionally drain my bank account! Love your content and always a joy to watch one of your reviews!
This video is exactly why I love this channel. I can never justify owning a knife like this but watched till the end cause your commentary is engaging and hilarious! I may not agree with everything (I love my Skeletool and Emisar D4K) but it's great to see a different perspective from a person who has a similar approach, curiosity, and interest in EDC items (knives, flashlights, watches, etc.)
Love Serge's style! It feels like he's out there in some industrial cyberpunk future designing EDC pieces and sending them back to us! I couldn't spend a grand on a knife, but completely understand why someone would for this. Great video Nick!
I absolutely love this knife, not going to make it into my collection but wow I wish it could. I completely understand this price though. Custom work should demand this price point, especially with this experience level and design pedigree.
This is a great video, been seeing this knife on IG for a while, personally never going to spend that kind of money for a knife, but have been incredibly curious about the workings.
One thought about the prison bars serving as a row of barrel spacers… Theoretically, you could omit a few of them in the reassembly process and then have a very inconspicuous place for a lanyard.
Hey Nick, any chance you have the Civivi Vision FG on your radar for a vid in this format? I’d love to hear your thoughts on it, and your tear downs are the best in the biz.
This man must be cooking a ton of mushrooms if tarragon is his go-to seasoning reference. I kind of hope if you’re covering a Walmart knife that it’s the 940-ish thing that won’t stay out of my Reddit feed for some reason. It’s time to hear the final word on that one. If it’s time to do another traditional, the Rosecraft Clinch River is a nice one. I also picked up a Zambezi, but the pull on that is insane-to-borderline-dangerous. Still, a cool piece. Pretty amazing stuff for the price.
The disassembly videos are great. Love seeing how a knife if put together and works and its very interesting to see it with knives that I don't own and am considering getting.
If there would be a industrial version I think I'd get it. I feel same you seem to feel being in the knife world for 4 years now edc and collecting addiction wise. I appreciate things which are different the most. If they well made and designed. Which this one is for sure. Thank you very much for the review and the video. I much much much appreciate your "hobby /work" so to say.
I guess this video, Nick's commentary, and by extension this knife, pretty well define why I no longer consider myself a "knife collector". I got into the hobby for a simple reason: "I need a good knife". It took some time to experience the different sizes, deployments, locks, blades, etc.....and I'm quite happy with a 3 inch bladed titanium framelock flipper knife. No matter how "boring" some will find that type of knife, it works. It works well! You can add springs, and novel locks, strange expensive finishes, etc. if you want, but I find I don't care anymore. I have a few rather good knives now, and don't need to play around any longer. (Certainly not for $1000!)
Yeah....not sure what the "gold star" thing is all about, though I suspect I'm the brunt of some sarcasm(?) My only point is that there is a distressing trend to praising "different" designs over "good" designs. I don't see the allure here....
@tkindschi You now get 🌟 🌟🌟🌟 But in all honesty, you found what you need and made a valid point. I guess I'm still just chasing the dragon 🐉 and I find this knife beautiful and a collector piece for myself? Sorry for being a 💩 Your comment has truth and makes a lot of sense.
When i saw that knife in the thumbnail i knew that it was a serge knife, way out of my budget but it’s really impressive that his style is so recognisable
i absolutely love serge's designs, this weird steampunky look is just awesome. i'd never pay that price though, i feel like most of serge's designs are nice to look at and maybe funny to play with, but in terms of pure practicality as an edc, probably not the best choice.
Handy trick for dismantling annoying springy mechanisms from fixing watches: Put the whole thing inside a clear plastic bag before poking at it. Then you can still see what you're doing, and it can explode all it likes & you'll still have the debris contained :)
I’m bitterly disappointed in you Nick. I sat back clicked start on your vid expecting all sorts of hilarious explosions like a circus clowns car and….nothing. What a waste of twenty minutes or so. Good to see you’re still on your game!
You mixed up the bearings and washers. If you watch the video it goes, bearing washer bearing washer. You went washer bearing bearing washer. Willing to bet that was a factory screw up. Also that blade shape is hideous.
this is calming for me. i am 7 and Mr Rogers is on
That’s such a quiet flex; “Serge contacted me and asked me to check his knife out” a flex that’s well deserved Mr. Shabazz. Thanks for the upload!

I happen to have a $3 knife and $10 watch I got from Walmart on the table right now 🤣

It just hit me how long it's been since I watched one of your videos. Time to settle in for some comfort viewing.

Stunning piece. If Serge ever makes an overseas affordable version of it, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.
This is one that I wouldn't mind paying a grand for. The sound it makes opening and closing is so nice. Love some good knife acoustics
Nice touch wearing the Serge Watch for the review!

That is a such a cool knife. Full of unique, little design aesthetics. Too expensive for me, but damn, that is cool.

Valiente Nicolás valiente, I would have killed that curiosity 😂 thanks for the valor demo 👍 still here my friend. Hope all's well. Love the knife👌
My orbit is one of my favorite knives. Never opened it up to see how that magic works... Wild!
Still kicking myself for not getting an orbit when I had a chance. Great looking knife
Very cool Nick. Congratulations!
I love the knife. Will have to move on to the cheaper aisle. Great to see.
Love love watching your videos.
The only thing I can say is that Serge is mad genius... mad, but genius... If I had a 1000 USD to spare, I would most definetely get one of these.
Nick disassembling the least reflective knife in existence but still wearing the Batman mask.
Nick! I love you, hate the knife but hey. Maybe have an octopus party at some point?

Whew, I’m not sure I’d have ever taken one of these apart! :p
I could listen to Nick say "Hawk Toggle Detent" for the rest of my life...
I love it and am a fan of both SP and the Hawk's.
But, I cannot afford it, haha. So I enjoy the video.
nice review!!
Doesn't scream "American made" to me but the price does
I sure miss your reviews Nick 😢
Keep it up nick your the best in the game
I like it so much, I’d buy 2, if I could afford it.
I would love one of these but damn. 900 or so is a bit steep for me.😅 thanks Nick

Nick Shabazz is the closest thing to a father I've ever had
I'm so sorry, may you someday find a role model worth a damn 🤣

its Art in knife form, art not cheap.

I have a brass Serge Lancer, love the simple design. Only downside is I am not a fan of the stonewash finish, which also appears on the Rook.
Oh boy that looks expensive

Another time, I ask why's it so small. Great design terrible size.
Freaky lil specimen Nick..🧐
“Relatively small hands.” Is that what we’re calling them now?
He’s been saying this for literally YEARS
Better than referring to them as LBH.
You mixed up the bearings and washers. If you watch the video it goes, bearing washer bearing washer. You went washer bearing bearing washer. Willing to bet that was a factory screw up. Also that blade shape is hideous.
No, I rearranged them to make a bit more sense, putting the hard bits on the outside of the bearings. :)
@@NickShabazz I would have too.
Really, Nick? Dad jokes???
You must be new here.
A knife like that is pocket jewelry, meant to wow your friends. Not meant for real world conditions.
The finish on that knife is so ugly I can't finish watching this video
I actually love the fit and finish
Grail knife if I could get at table price
Good god, talk about 'too many moving parts'.
Shouldn't you do another video on the Spyderco Delica?
