Great design. That price got me running away. But understand why.

Appreciate you showing this one, but man, there are a bunch of problems with this design. The exterior doesn't look too bad, really. On the interior, the front seat/cockpit area is okay (albeit kind of boring and lackluster), but the materials are really poor for that price point. Then we get to the rear seats where it's just a straight-up fail. They look like they're out of a minivan, flat planks with poor leg room for a vehicle this size, and more cheap plastic everywhere. Who puts USB-C ports on the floor where nobody's going to use them? And this whole fad of putting a massive chunk of heavy glass in the roof needs to stop. Literally nobody wants it. It will leak (when, not if). It adds a bunch of weight to an EV where weight impacts range. It'll cook the interior in warmer climates. And it compromises structural integrity of the cabin in a crash. Just doesn't make sense.
I like the idea of them doing an EV version of the Escalade, but the execution is pretty poor, TBH. They're nowhere even NEAR Rolls Royce with this thing. They didn't even really out-do the ICE Escalade. Hard pass.

Other than the cheap plastic it is also the vehicle in its class not having 2 sources of ventilation for each occupants in the second row when they removed the A/C outlets on the b pillar present on the pre production models. This move to only save a couple hundred bucks on a 127k vehicle. Its even more egregious that they didn’t bother to add it with the executive package.

Great review but wish you could take it out for a test drive and share your thoughts on the driving experience unless you are part of the invite for the Cadillac media review of the Escalade IQ? Don't know if you have been embargoed for the reasoning.

They will sell literally 12 of these…no one wants an all electric Escalade, and if they did, they would want it to look like a normal Escalade not some awful “futuristic” design.

Hundreds have bought them already in an Escalade IQ group I’m in, with a lot more than have ordered and waiting for them to come in. I had to buy mine many states away because there is no availability here, all pre-sold, and the closest few dealers across my state that have a few left are selling them at 10K-20K markup and have sold about 30 of them at those prices which is insane.. (I paid msrp). A few of the out of state volume dealers I spoke to that are selling at msrp have each sold all 20-30 they got and have more resold.
Based on the people who have posed, about half are coming from gas/diesel Escalades, and the other half wouldn’t have bought it if it wasn’t an EV. Many came from teslas or other EV’s, and others knew they wanted an EV for their next car.
I know it won’t sell as many as the gas Escalades, but GM won’t have the capacity for that many anyway.

I was looking forward to purchasing one to replace my older gas powered Escalade. The price is more than what I’m willing to spend at the moment. It also costs a lot more than my Tesla Model X. I’ll just keep my older Escalade and Model X for now. Hopefully, the price will decrease over time.

" Going after RR" lol. Cadillac vehicles look pretty, but feel like cheap plastic when you touch anything inside.
