LOL, you have a Peeping Cali in the window.
Robin T yea i spotted that too LOL😂😂
Trying to attract attention with her paw on the window sill :-)
Haha! I was just going to post the same thing. It's at 11:51 for those who missed it.
@@bigfatno and 10:14-10:15
Cali is so adorable. She always make the video, I watch for her so much
Bloody hell within the first 5 comments that's a first for me. As with all your content highly educational, informative and entertaining
EDIT: 08:30 Loving the subtle hint to all the potential sponsors out there 😁
Sean: This was so helpful. Thanks. Usually I skip videos that are mostly talk but this had so much helpful information I stayed with it the whole way through. Good work!
Shawn : Unbeknown to you Cali is not amused at being outside while you are yacking to the other guy who she wants to be affected with, so that is why the ugly stares behind you, sorry Cali.
As for my own use I tend to use a Fuji FX-240 Finepix and for movies my Toshiba 8mp 16 zoom HD ready for not too bad filming as it is hand sized and easy to use . Thanks Shawn.
Cali is quite the photo bomber. Ha. Lovely camera gear. Technicalities far beyond me. Glad you know how to use it all and can carry it. I will enjoy seeing the rewards of it all. .😺💞
Wow...a lot of great information, I’m an amateur photographer, and wildlife is what I love to photograph. I live in the mountains so there is plenty of wildlife...after watching this video, I think I’m going to update some of my camera equipment! Thank you👍🏻..and yes...I have a Canon camera😊
Great comparison from one professional to another. The content is, as always, informative and helpful. Cali’s photobombs. Epic. 😉🐾🌲
Hello hellooo Dad I'm here🐕Hi! Cali, Shawn great information thank you.
Hi Shawn, nice vodeo.
Just stick with Canon; its color is way better
Speaking of “wildlife in the frame”, love the Peeping Cali at the end of the video.
So glad you got to do this trip. I went to Europe for 12 days, and I was more st peace at my cabin on my return. Home is home. Enjoy the journey you are on. Thank you for showing us many things. Excellent skills and work ethic. Always good to see how others’ live so we can appreciate what we have. Glad you came to that collusion.
Great Info for professional work as well for shooting RUclips Videos Love The work you do in and out and around the Cabin great Videos very enjoyable Thx for sharing!!!!!!
i had to get a glass of wine for this one! excellent job, both of you! i know that gear is heavy and i know we're gonna love the upcoming videos. thank you, shawn.
Could we drool over Cali some more please? S w o o o n!
Thanks for the information! Very interesting. So much to learn. Love Cali she always manages to get into the video even when she is outside.
Good Sunday Shawn, Mark, and Cali🐕! Wow! Those are serious and awesome professional photography equipments especially those telephoto zoom lenses! It would be so nice, if you can make a video on how to use basic digital camera!👍📷📹
ㅋㅋㅋ...I don't remembered or recall last time Cali ever barked!
👍😃🐕
Hi Shawn - you can get fluid heads with levelling bases, or you can add a leveling base to most heads. Then you can pan regardless of leg setup
Thanks for sharing Shawn! Mark’s photography is gorgeous, and it’s always fun to see what’s in other people’s gear bags. For filmmaking, might also recommend taking a rocket blower out there for the sensor, just because spot removal’s a little more tricky in post... and it’s a handy way to get dust and debris out of the gimbal motors too :)
This was great! Good advice about the 24/60 Frame rate for stills from video
I love my Cannon DSL still learning how to use it great for beginners like myself
I look forward to more of these Shawn
Thank You
I cannot wait to see your Alaskan experience!...my home state! Great video about your camera gear...thank you! Thank you to Mark also, going to check out your site!
This video was a real eye-opener for me, thank you for sharing! Will be getting my first DSLR tomorrow, in hope to evolve beyond GoPros and perhaps raise the content value on my channel. Can´t thank you enough for showing this, thumbs up from Sweden!
Shawn James, Alaska is beautiful! How not to trust God in the face of beauty created by him? We must take care of nature, enjoy it, and you make all of this. You are privileged. Congratulations, Marcia Martini, and best wishes, Family Martini 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🏠🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🐇🐻🐺🐶🐿🦔🦌🦉🦅🦆😁😄😍❤💜💚💙🍕🍕🍕🍔🍔🍔🍔
Appreciate you sharing, I got to go pro six , still learning to use, I got the go Pro backpack. Been setting it up for logging . And my videos. Again appreciate you sharing .
Lol nice window wild life camera you have :-) wow video vrs still has no comparison with storage and power consumption, looking forward to seeing Alaska
Thanks for this insight into your gear, one question I have as I am looking at getting into a laptop to do my editing on instead of my home pc, is what laptops do you both use for your editing? Thanks and thanks for all the fantastic videos as we travel along on your journeys.
Exciting times on the way! I know you are back - the pleasure now becomes ours. 🌞
You are seriously new to photography? Your photos-at least the ones I’ve seen-are stunning and I do wish you’d post more at the end of your videos, like you’ve done on a few others. It’s a real treat to see quality photos of the beauty of nature.
PS I’m stupid sleepy so please nobody judge my syntax lol.
Great discussion. I enjoyed watching it and learning. Shawn takes care of video while Mark takes care of stills. Team is set!
Thank you for this video--great information. I cannot wait to see the Alaska videos. Thank you Shawn and Mark for sharing📷💻🔌🌞🌧🐟🐾🌺
You're always so informative, Shawn. I have a family of photographers and professional videographers. Always interesting to hear of another one share of their equipment and knowledge... always learning. God bless you on your trip. Nature always reveals the heart of God. May you sense His peace and rest as you go.
Thank you , Shawn .
Thank you ,Mark .
27:56 Cali is watching you! (+ 47:26 sniffing )
Cali is suffering separation anxiety. :)
Always great, in Alaska too. I understand writing english , notthe speeking. But I try with you : usefull and interesting.
Shawn. Real interesting. Thanks for doing this. Lots of great info. Love the wildlife peaking in the window behind you. 👍👍
Cali photo bombs your show here at the end in the window awe! LOL
Thanks for sharing everything. Love your work.
Just a suggestion, why don’t you try using a monopod? I find it very handy while using a telephoto lense, you should try it out.
It’s not stable enough for video. My main tripod coverts to a monopod and is use it occasionally for bird photography
At 27:55 I just love your dog
Nice video Shawn. Couldn't concetrate fully because of the distraction form Calli sticking her nose throw the window and crying outside 😀
This is why i film on a Gh5 now, Retired my Canon 5d 2 years ago as a backup body..
The Panasonic Gh5 camera is Very light. uses light lenses.
And I get great results with canon glass with fullframe results with a speedbooster and a sigma 18-35 1.8
Canon 90D will be out in next month full 4K and about 32mp with good old articulating screen. Also 2020 Olympic is getting close that means 1Dx will get next iteration as well ;-) I am sorry that someone stole your gears and wallet.
Awesome content. I'm just getting into wildlife photography. Which with my income takes some overtime sacrifice. Looking to invest into a Tamron 150-600mm G2 for my Nikon. Hoping I can get out to Yellowstone and Glacier before the first big snow.
With recent digital advancements in photography how would the old negative film compare? Chalk and cheese. Friends say no comparison? Digital media so much more convenient
Mark knows much more than I do and he says no comparison - today's digital images are unbeatable
Thanks Shawn great video thinking of maybe getting an osmo🤔 little more research. Have a good one CHEERS👍👍👍
Woot woot !! Mark is a Nikon man.... GREAT CHOICE!! LOL .. absolutely love Nikon!
I agree on the fact that Cali is in the back ground. You just can't keep a star out of the camera. You got yo love her. I can't wait to see the video from your trip.
I wish I had good equipment when my step son was racing ...i did good with what I had .. 👍😊 ..happy he can look back at his talent..
Would love to go on a trip with you guys!
BUT please learn that not everybody as a good Wifi Or Connetion. So please stop the 60FPS. HD is just fine! And 60FPS don't do that much. Put 1080p VIdeos, 720p Videos, but not in 60FPS. Also will take less data. For you, and for your users! Most are Mobile & cell phone users.
Love watching your content! You're awesome! From QC,Canada here. Keep the good content going!
Thank you for sharing all the info about your cameras and gear! I see a photo bombing Cali in the background!
I was tempted to get a !DX, but couldn't bring myself to go full frame, I'd have to carry around a much bigger lens. Lol! I have an 80D, and use a Tamron 16-300mm, a good all round set-up, the only time I switch lenses is for night shots, when I'll put on a 14mm f/2.8
I actually enjoyed this, i thought it would be out of my depth - but how informative and loads of info
I'm single. I have over the years spent thousands of dollars on golf clubs. If I was married I'd not post this video! Shawn's wife must not see this! LOL! $$$$$$$$$$$ Just trying out my sense of humor.
Shawn, Just finished watching this segment and rather Excellent that you brought Mark onto your channel, Mark Raycroft is very informative - educational - and like yourself - good natured, He has answered many of my Questions as I am a plant and wildlife illustrator, and will be getting back into it soon. Illustrators need some photography skills as well, to work from - sometimes back at home! Excellent and informative segment, Your Channel is definetly going forward with more combined social - and knowledge skills. Bit like your great segment on the longhouse but differently - variety is the spice of life, and great your channel provides this! Matty Bath.
That was very informative information from you both, thanks. I took a photography class years ago. I used a 35mm SLR Minolta camera. It took awesome pictures. I now use a Nikon D5200. I know exactly where that scenery is in the last clips. I was that way a couple of weeks ago. The Fireweed is more vibrant in person and very prevalent this year. I remember when movie stars use to say don't ever have kids or dogs in the picture - they steal the show - oh that sweet Calli poking her nose in the window, LOL.
Really informative. Totally cool. I like how both Canon and nikon are represented. Who knew there was so much to know about SD cards. I look forward to seeing it all.
Hi, Shawn, I know you probably don't want Callie in while you are filming with Mark but she keeps looking in the window and she looks so sad. I am sure she would just lay down. Rock on Cannon best equipment ever (In case you haven't twigged I use Canon gear) You should get a gimble for your long lens it makes all the difference.
Matty Bath, just signed up from Aussie to this channel as well, Glad Shawn that you have confirmed within yourself where home is. Our spirit whatever that be, within ourselves, seems to know where we will be safest, call it a hunch, or falling back on the history of what we know, and our historical family Knowledge - could all play apart in this. You have also come far, and you know your resources in this region well, and I hope you get all the things done this year, that you have set your mind to do, and to achieve this in it's fullest! Also regarding your choice better to know than be umming and arrring! All the best Matty!
You both have wonderful smiles !!!..
Great video, love hearing what you guys use for camera equipment. Cant wait to see what you use for personal equipment.
I agree with everyone else.... great video, but you forgot to show a picture of your camera....and I'm sure you will be reminded a few times...
Hi Shawn, I have to agree with Mark, my girlfriend went on a trip with her daughter and grandkids, her daughter took some snaps on her phone and my girlfriend asked me to print one-off and also add her son to the picture. I started to tell her that if I did that it would not work as all the pictures I have were taken with my Canon A5 and the phone picture would be pixelated and look bad. Well, the reason for this comment is that when I received the pictures (Jpegs) they were 5-megapixel images from a phone to me that is incredible and the pictures were as good as mine. I don't know what type of phone her daughter has but the picture quality is excellent. If technology gets much smaller you will need a magnifying glass to find them.
At first I thought you said
Walden Exposed. :)
Shawn, the video was ok. I am not that interested in the technology of video and photo recording. I know that others are. Being honest I am going to have to give a thumbs down for this one. Please keep up your great reporting and recording of what you are doing. Hopefully this is the on;y one that I don’t like, so far the rest have been great. Thanks for all you do :)
Let's repeat some of your famous words I had methamphetamines working. I totally understand why you ran from society have a nice day
Callie is so adorable! Peeking through the window! :) I miss you, Callie!
This was very informative; however, as he got more technical, it was harder for me to follow. I'm not at all educated in photo taking after this wonderful video!
Shawn, A slave to your art! A lot going into entertaining us. Thanks. Regards Stephen.
Over and over again i see RUclipsrs that get gear for free and they really are under qualified to have it. They are just excited for fancy free stuff and it inevitably skews their reviews. So rare to see so much talent and be honestly truthful with the gear they are showing. Thank you so much for this. Such a treat!
Heavy bags for sure! Great insight video Shawn. Thank you. 👍😁
Great Video Shawn! I retired from still photography and this just reactivated a passion to pull the gear out!
Shawn on the second DJI device he talked about a focus button. How do you know if it’s focused or not is their a monitor on the unit? I have the first DJI unit he showed and love it but it is a little bulky and loved the size difference
Starting at 11:54 Cali pokes her nose in the window. "Hey you guys... let me in!" :)
Shawn don't forget to show us your camera, the one you just used video taping and what editing software ur using and is there any RUclips channels that help beginners like me learn to edit
I didn't know J.K Simmons was a huge photographer :D
Shawn what drone do you use? Thinking about getting a beginner one. Enjoy your videos.
I freaked out at first, I though that you had Morgan Spurlock at The Cabin
Hey Shawn I kno this is off topic but I heard that if u are sleeping out doors in winterthat if u take a piece of cloth get it wet to string over top ur tent an allow it to freeze it gives your tent or shelter a hard covering to block wind and moisture from hitting ur shelters main wall I headhomeless use the technique
Any idea if that DJI can be attached to one of the attachments on a DJI drone ? I have an older drone but the only thing I wish it had was a better camera with a proper gimbal.
Thanks for this video, It was very interesting. now I know what gear is needed to make a video.
Why is cali barking she saw something!!..wish you?ll go see !!
27:57 and 47:40 is that a Cali Photo Bomb?... lol. LOVE IT!!!
Where do you plan to get power in the bush? Lots of charging to do each night.
11:52...and Cali appears, lol, cheers!
his camera angle is so interesting. like seeing a new place .
I like how Cali randomly appears in the window time to time.
Gratulations you came up to electricity looking good
Shawn to take a pic. with no things sit in the cabin for a bit at night with the camera just look through the lens at the rocks behind the stove to heat the cabin it helps in getting the way of the feel of the camera for your self it is some thing I do I have tremors so it has worked great some times you need to find out what hand or arm is the best in keeping it straight
I'd like to watch you playing that mandoline at the back
Cali thought of something to say. 😮
I think i see a little gear envy, googly eyes.
Thanks for nice CANON NICON camera👍
great info, you better go play with cali for a while after this haha
Osmo pocket, wow, what a game changer!!!
Knock knock
Who's there?
Cali
Great tips and educational video as always!
Up early with S.J. and Cali!
So just to be clear, letting Caribou walk over you is not a good idea? I wasn't aware. I should stop doing that, lol. Thanks for some great content Shawn. This is a very helpful video.
Chtělo by to LED s širším spektrem a část z nich na vyšší barevnou teplotu. Už tak odrážejí stěny srubu hlavně hnědou a možná by pomohlo i posunutí vyvážení bílé směrem do modra. Natáčet v jednobarevném prostředí je těžké. Jinak obsah videa perfektní, informativní. Dík.
Finally found your 2nd channel lol
As a Photographer myself, its a never-ending process of learning, Nice gear.
