FYI, the step counting between two points is for land navigation purposes. You can calculate how many steps you take to walk a mile and then use that to gauge distance if traveling outdoors by foot. This feature would be useful for a downed pilot.

You forgot to show one of the most important features and buttons. The light back light button.

After the rangeman was made I feel like all g shocks pricier than that where automatically looked over just because the rangeman is cheaper than the gravity master, frogman, mud master etc... but also has way more features and more durable than all those

I wear my Mudmaster to my software job all the time. A lot of people wouldn’t consider the GG-1000 a daily driver, but I love the analog face, the alarms and the easily readable time. It’s great.

@@BobbyLegs Are you still wearing your mudmaster in 2021? I am kinda obsessed with the mudmaster GGB100 even though my wrists are about your size.

I no longer have it. I became obsessed with the frogman. Which I also sold but might buy back,

Comparing the build quality of this Gravitymaster to the 2014 GPW1000 Gravitymaster - it's obvious Casio are cutting corners with the strap and buckle. I've experienced the earlier Gravitymaster and although the features are less on the older model, the build quality was far superior. Don't get me wrong I like this model and it's many features look v.useful. It's just a shame Casio has cut back on a carbon fibre strap, metal keeper and tang - sapphire crystal, solar charging etc. Maybe I'm expecting too much .....

I have this watch, the GRB200-1A and it is awesome! Looks way better in person. It is light on the wrist and the functions are customizable with the app! The plastic buckle is a design of the aviation cockpit dashboard. Example: Sikorsky H-60 helicopter cockpit 🚁

    Nice video.
I just got one of these 3 days ago, love it. Personally, I like larger watches. You really don't feel this on wrist too much, but like you, the buckle annoys me. Why not a stainless buckle, or carbon fiber? The Mudmaster's buckle and band are nicer. A GWG1000 (possibly 2000) is next on the list, last one will be a Rangeman.
Only difference in our affinity for G Shock watches, I tend towards the rounded shape, however I do have one square all digital.

the ggb100 is amazers if it had atomic solar power on it. i want the range man but analog. im guessing this is exactly the same watch?

  • @tonyalvarez5815

Your issue with the watch is that the buckle gets caught on the holes as you are taking it off your wrist?
    Are you kidding me???

Is the step counter accurate? I have the GBDH-1000 and it’s horrible. It counts steps even if you move your arms but not walking.

Forget the size, that's just personal preference and wrist size... but whenever I see these large, complex, circular G-Shocks (so, not the squares), as fun and interesting as the tech may be, my first thought is always: "Dude, I'm not 10 years old anymore." Now, if I were camping and hiking all the time, I def. might get something like this, but all good camping gear looks silly.

I would trade down for free if i could. I have a ggb100, but I wouldn't but this as is. if it had atomic and solar. Id buy. if it had depth sensor. Id drop a grand on it. lol.

The only drawback is the Negative Display they are hard to read in Bright Light and Low light conditions. Looks cool but not practical in a watch at times when you need to read information that might be needed.
