I'm soooo freaking in love with Icon for Hire. Seriously can't stop listening to their music. And Ariel is such a sweetheart and totally awesome!!!
I have to agree...i caught them in Feb. at the Lebanon, OH show...i sat through 4 other bands i had never even heard of or cared for to wait for Icon...and they did not disappoint! Got to hang with Ariel for a bit to...she is a total sweetheart!
Conversation with Rockstar in this...sounds amazing. I always listen to this song and it gives me strength :)

They are a warm up band for amaranthe at a concert in 2014 though.

Live bands will never sound like they did on the CD because in the studio they would have done sections of the song over and over again to get something ideal, then layer it over other parts.

seems like she is having a little bit of a stamina problem, but all newish singers go through the same thing :) all in all she still does a great job and she will only improve with time!
mm yeah true, she is still awesome, but i hope there will be the day where she gives it her best and actually sound exactly the same from the album ^^

Mom, i falled in love, her name is Ariel...
She used auto-tune on the record... You can also shape the vocals a bit with that program. Along with compression and reverb, her voice will sound alot better on the record. I seen them a few times last year, and she sounded really good. Her voice is probably pretty tore up from the road in this video.

Actually, Ariel says at the end of the show (before the last song), that she was sick, but during the concert it got better. I think that's a good reason not to have a perfect voice
Actually almost all bands does sounds a lot closer to the studio version than this, some even better.
But she's improving.... at least sounds like it.
They dont need autotune to make them sound good..
Obviously the register quality is bad, and in studio they can modify the voice :) (sorry for the bad english im french ^^")

sounds more like her voice is going out from all the singing and she's forcing it. once your voice starts going out the higher notes get harder to hit and you kinda tend to squeak or yell to make it come out.

Apart from the dreadful audience (due to them probably opening up for more familiar bands). This is a really good performance.

I like TFK, but their music isn't usually very God-centered.
does it occur to you that she is probably exhausted from bouncing all over the stage... just saying...
Well, not all of their stuff is about God. I know what you mean, as I am a fan of TFK, Skillet and Red. But they never mention God in any of their songs, and though they may be talking to him, some times it just sounds like their talking to their girlfriend, and they shouldn't be afraid to use God's name since they are Christian. And secular means the world so they shouldn't even want to go that route.
Whoever did the live mixing for this concert sucked. I'm sure it would've been better if you could hear all of it at a good level.
