Vladimir Putin Offers Ceasefire If Ukraine Withdraws Troops and Renounces NATO Plans

Russia Ukraine War: Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised to order an immediate ceasefire and start negotiations if Ukraine withdraws troops from the four regions annexed by Moscow in 2022 and renounces its plans to join NATO. Kyiv, which seeks NATO membership and demands Russian withdrawal from all its territory, has not yet responded. Putin emphasized that his proposal aims for a "final resolution" rather than merely "freezing" the conflict, and includes broader peace demands and the lifting of Western sanctions.

This so-called "peace offer" from dictator Putler closely resembles the agreement between Stalin and Hitler (Riebentrop-Molotov Pact) from 1940, by which Romania was forced to cede Bessarabia (today's territory of the Republic of Moldova) to the Soviet Union. the north of Bucovina and the land of Herta (today part of Ukraine).
Both Russian occupations were followed by a strong Russian colonization and denationalization of the inhabitants of the occupied regions.
The difference is that today's Ukraine has international support, unlike Romania in 1940, which was isolated and without allies to help it defend itself against the Russian invaders.
