Absolutely the best video I've ever seen on how to repair something. Only thing I'd add is that the hose clamp that was installed reversed uses a #2 Phillips head, everything else is a #2 Robertson (Square Drive). I used the needle nose and just rotated the screw rather than trying to reach behind it and do it with a driver bit. Clearly the design/build team did not consult with repair team at all on this one. Huge PITA.
Thank you so much...Sears sent out a technician who couldn't even open the door to the washer and wanted to charge me $550 to fix it...but with your video I was able to repair it for $29!!
Thank you so much for this video, Hameed! this is so detailed and so well explained! One of the best videos I’ve ever seen on the topic. This is extremely helpful. Thanks again!
Amazing! I can't thank you enough. This is the best video on how to fix the washer. Every single thing was showed on how to fix the washer when it's having error codes or just not draining. You're the MAN! Thanks again
Nice Video. Saved me lots of $$. My electrolux has a self cleaning filter but I followed the same steps to get to it. Then took the pump/filter apart and found some coins in there.
Thankyou brother! I did it myself , with a little help from my son and i have no experience at all. It took me 4 hours for it to was watching the video step by step . Once again thank You ! May the Lord bless you . Great video .
Try This First! My daughter's Electrolux washer had a clogged filter and with 3 kids she couldn't have a lot of down time. We hooked up a shop vac to the drain hose and sucked the water out of the drum. She poured some hot water into the drum and we turned the vacuum on. After a couple of buckets of water, a huge amount of clog material came into the shop vac. That took care of the clog. She then ran the machine through a cleaning cycle and all is well. This may not work for everybody, but it worked for her!
Thank you for this comment. Im going to try this first lol . This video is made in great detail and easy to understand but for someone like me, an intermediate diy'er this is a little overwhelming lol
Hameed..you did an excellent job of describing and photographing how to clean the coin trap and rechecking your reassembly of the drain hose !! Thank you so much for sharing ❤ this is the hardest type drain to clean for lack of access 😊 great work sir !
Thank you for the informative video! I have the same washing machine and after doing a load, I came back to the machine and found an E21 error and the door locked. This video saved me a LOT of frustration. I knew the pump wasn't working when I put it to spin cycle and it went to drain and I couldn’t hear the pump. Problem was the locked door wouldn’t unlock due to all the water in the tub. Thanks to your video, I was able to get into diagnostic mode and manually force the door unlock. After removing the front panel I discovered that the power connection to the drain pump somehow worked itself loose. In my case it was an easy fix! Thank god I saved my manual so I could figure out the model number to find your video which was otherwise hidden behind the locked door on the machine.,
Thank you for this. I had to clean out the drain filter on my Electrolux Model EIFLS60JIW1 washer this weekend. I have my Electrolux dryer stacked on top of it. For those with this set up you do NOT have to take the dryer off to do this. Just take out the four screws holding the stacking brackets in the back (don't touch the stacking bracket in the front) and then follow Hameed's excellent directions. Basically once these rear brackets are removed you can take out the two screws holding the washer top on the back and then slide the dryer/washing machine top back just far enough to get to the two upper screws holding the washer control panel in place. Once you are all done just slide it back and reattach the rear brackets.
Absolutely awesome detailed description. I will be watching this again Saturday morning when I have time to do what you did here. Thank you for making this. You probably saved me a couple hundred bucks!
Great video, just finished mine. The only step I would add is that disconnecting the front board is super easy to avoid not dropping it like I did. Otherwise, this man deserves an award.
This was VERY helpful. Took washer apart and emptied the crap out of the basket. I wound up actually replacing the drain pump, that was the problem. The basket had some junk in it but not a lot.
Awesome video. Thank you! My filter was partially clogged, but the major issue was the red backwash flap on the pump had broken off. The one dollar flap is not a separate part and I had to change the pump. But it works like new again!
You missed your calling, you should have been a teacher. I live in a very rural area where repairmen are few and $$$. This video probably saved me $400. Thank you so very much.
Nice job on this video Hameed. It's very well done. I ran into this issue and knowing that it's way more in depth than I can handle, I'll be reaching out to a professional. Thanks for helping me figure this out for myself so quickly!
Thank you for this video, this was what I needed to clean out the clogged coin trap. Electrolux should be fined for selling this machine without ready access to such a routine task. The toughest part is loosening the hose clamp that holds the coin trap hose, the one that's facing away from the front. This can be made a little easier by using a 7MM WRENCH, since that hose clamp screw has a hex head as well as the phillips head slot. And I'll never buy another Electrosux.
Terrific video. I thought it might be too slow but there’s lots of great detail about each step and part. Handy tip about flipping the screw clamp. I’m just bummed that you can’t get to the pump without taking the shell apart. I have to lift off the dryer et al and have so little space in which to work Great vid though
EXCELLENT Video! Thanks! With all that hair, perhaps there are lots of girls in the house. I attach a shop vac to the end of the drain hose. This drains the machine thoroughly. I do this on dishwashers also. Since 1977.
Thanks for an excellent video, Hameed. I just purchased a new Electrolux set (washer ELFW7537AW) and I did notice that there was no filter door on the front. Why they made it like this, I think it was to get money from the jobs that this takes. Fortunately, I've taken many washers apart and cleaned everything, so, although a HUGE hassle to do this on the Electrolux, I'm more than confident I can do this myself. That said, I'm certainly NOT looking forward to having to do this. Do you recommend any time frame as to when you should clean it? I do about 4 or 5 loads of laundry a month. Thanks again. 🙂
@@hameedwafaAFG I cleaned the coin trap and it still just makes a humming noise - the error code remains. Looks like I have to order a pump and do this all over again 😭😭 but still I never would have been able to diagnose the issues without your clear and concise video so thank you. To anyone reading this: this job isn’t that fun for a DIY’er so before you do it just spend the $30-40 for a new pump so you can replace it at the same time!
I have the same machine. Followed step by step. Amazing you saved me a lot of money. I originally was going to buy a new machine. Seen your video & decided to try it. Works like new. Thank you!!!
Any advice for how to get the front back on the lux care? I seem to have a problem with it and I bet you know the trick to fix it! I lined up the pins and something still seems to be preventing it from snapping back into place. I have made sure that the soap dispenser screw area is not preventing it from making contact. Any advice? Much appreciated in advance! Thanks for all of you wonderful videos!
Great Job. Would the diagnostic display for control board problem? I dealt with an electrolux washer that wouldn't go in the drain cycle but also didn't display a drain error code.
Does this video show how to override the motherboard panel to get the door unlocked to be able to shop vac the water that isn't draining out before we start the procedure of unclogging as you're showing here in this video?
Awesome video thank you!!!! Although after we put it all together and turned it on.. water was going everywhere.. maybe something not tight enough? Have you ever experienced this issue? Thx
Could you please share which tool you used to open the screw for the drain pipe?it is at a very difficult location hard to access. Would like to know Rachel size and what you put in it
We have error code E 21, some water in the drum, but it also smells like burning rubber or plastic. I'm guessing the pump is damaged but I may follow these directions and see if we have a clog like this.
Unacceptable design error by Electrolux. The basket design itself makes extracting junk more difficult. Electrolux's product designers should be required to go in the field with techs before designing any machine. I'd even like to see basket filter retrofits be made available that are easier to remove.
I also repair for a living. I have not dealt with any Electrolux yet. It is so stupid that they made the washer so that the customer cannot clean the coin trap themselves. Great video. But taking it apart is not much different than other front loaders.
If you do stackable laundry machines by yourself. Buy yourself the air sled. It is like a putting wheels on the bottom and moving them out of tight closets with ease.
