I wish you would make just the peephole cam minus the doorbell portion to make the device itself smaller. I have no need for a doorbell near my peep hole, but due to the location of my doorbell, this type of set up would give me a much better view of my entire porch.

Thanks for discontinuing a good product just because some complained about "not seeing their boxes". If you looked closely out of the peephole you CAN see them. Mine broke so now I have two good batteries and no peephole cam to replace it with. That is it for RING, I'm going with a different product.

im kinda of shocked 1/2 of those in our country or higher do not think they "need'outside cam of person and or person(s) by their house, apt. condo/townhouse. easier to catch,and i am hoping 1 day ALL get it, rich low income/middle class price range. I am glad i got it.

I definitely will be looking into getting this if it is compatible with my apartment door since I have one of those Doorbell (Ding Dong) assemblies. Also, Would of been better of it used standard rechargeable batteries instead of a proprietary battery pack that is annoying to replace. Of if it could be powered all the time from the USB port.

Can this device recognise someone trying to break in or someone trying to steal the camera with its vibration/ knock sensor? so it can set off the alarm?
Hey there! The Peephole Cam is designed to detect knock patterns, however, you should be alerted if someone is attempting to break the door that it's connected to. The Indoor Cam is installed by connecting to the battery compartment that goes on the inside of your door, so it can't be removed without unscrewing the back. Rest assured, you'll also receive a motion alert if someone is at your door attempting to remove your Ring.
While Ring Doorbells and Cams won't trigger the Ring Alarm siren, you can link your Ring devices together to ensure they record if your Ring Alarm system is ever triggered. Just bought this one but my door is 3mm to thick. Would be great if there were some differens sizes in the package so more doors could fit the peephole cam.

Would this be better than the traditional doorbell ring camera if the existing doorbell is on the wall next to the front door, instead of on the same wall as the door? That is how my house is set up. The doorbell is on the wall next to the front door. I have been looking into getting this doorbell, but when people come to the door, the camera will get the side of their torso, not the face.

I go to install it and it turns out my door is much smaller thsn stsndsrd. Was way too long for my door.

Hi there. If you have a screen door that would go in front of the Peephole Cam, we recommend exploring a Ring Doorbell option that can be mounted on the outside of the door. Any obstruction such as screen doors or glass can impact a Ring device's ability to properly detect motion or see clearly at night time. We hope this helps!

Ring I have read reviews from owners with very light use and the battery needed recharging after 1 month 🤔

Just installed and had two questions. The right side of the outside portion is not flush to the door. The inside is flush. Do I need to tighten it even further? Afraid to break the plastic screw. I will try again w the tool. Also, which setting do I need to change to capture the people walking by faster. I keep seeing ppl walking away and not at my door. Is my WiFi slow or can I can setting to make it more live? Thank you!
Hi there, and thank you for asking these questions. When installed on a door with the recommend dimensions, the Peephole Cam should sit flush with the door, or very close to flush. Will the motion detector function work with a storm door in front of it?
Hey Steve, the Peephole Cam's motion detection uses PIR (passive infrared) so it's looking for a heat signature. Having a security or storm door in front of the Cam can obstruct its view and ability to detect motion properly. For homes with an external door, we recommend using one of our other Ring Doorbells that can be installed on your home outside this area - check out more on shop.ring.com.

I have a screen door, but we tinted the glass on the door, but I have a peephole on the main door will the camera still catch people with the glass being tinted? My doorbell is actually on the side of the wall from the door so I don’t wanna get the ring doorbell.

The outdoor half connector doesnt seem long enough to fit my door.

if you wish to install into a door WITHOUT a current peephole, what diameter of hole should be drilled?

can it be fitted to a standard upvc front door without a current peephole?
Hey Brian! We don't recommend mounting Ring devices to UPVC since they may require some drilling, and this can possibly crack UPVC. If you have a wall or other open area around your door, we recommend one of our other battery powered Doorbells such as our Ring Video Doorbell 3: shop.ring.com/products/video-doorbell-3.
My hole in my door is extra wide. Maybe almost an inch and a half or 3cm. Are there adapters that will help it fit?

HOW DO I REMOVE IT!
It sucks cuz my door has a metal thing to knock on the door below the peephole so I don’t think this will work 😔 and I was gonna get the camera but I don’t wanna make a hole in the wall since I’m renting

Are you kidding? Not having to mess with wires is the best part! Besides battery will last anything from 1 to up to 3 months depending on how much traffic you have in front of your door. And they are rechargeable.

Too bad I don't have a peephole on our apartment's front door. Kind of obnoxious when doors don't have one in this modern age, especially since the peephole cam is the same price as the normal 2020 Pro model on sale right now. Our apartment building doesn't even have a doorbell, so hopefully Ring's doorbell camera will work without one as a camera instead.

Is the two sides weatherproof?

olaa te hago una pregunta mi video portero doorbell andaba perfecto y de pronto no me suena en el celular son dos celulares ninguno suena cuando pulsan el timbre no abre la aplicacion ni omite sonido de echo resetie el portero desintale y volvi a instalar la aplicacion xsh cam y no responde me ayudas x favor a resolver este inconveniente gracias espero tu respuesta y la otra pregunta seria como puedo hacer para que suene mas rapido desde q tocan el timbre hasta q suene en celular (delay) espero me puedan ayudar gracias

MAKE SURE before ordering this device you measure your door. I just made the mistake of getting the peephole cam and my door is too thin. It will not tighten up properly. I’m having to go to Lowe’s and find some wood to makeshift something. It would take way too long to send the device back and wait for a refund to get another type. 😤😭
I had the same problem , My door is 1 3/4 inches thick and had to use a nylon spacer to tighten this device and making it flush . " Ring " claims this will fit a door between 1.3 inches and 2.2 inches without additional adjustments .

Do you get an alert when the battery is low?
Hey Kimberly! You should be receiving low-battery alerts emails automatically whenever there are three or more events with a battery level of 25% or below. You can check the battery level in the “Device Health” tile within the Ring App. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

What if the original peephole is bigger and wider, is there another version?
Hey neighbor! The Peephole Cam comes with an adapter that provides a secure installation for doors that may have a larger peephole. To see if you need the adapter, remove the adapter from the Door View Kit tray and place it over the tube. Slide the adapter towards the hole in your door and it will be a snug fit if the adapter is needed. The standard peephole diameter is 1/2 in x 9/16 in. (12 mm - 14 mm). My peephole was not drilled out straight and the ring won’t sit flush against door. Is there anything I can do? It’s a aluminum looking door with foam insulation inside.

What they don’t tell you is that little black metallic ribbon is actually housing the wire from the battery to the device and if it’s severed, it could ruin it. -_- So much for me trying to get the perfect fit.
