    Hello, thanks so much the fantastic hack. I am beginner as well your videos helps me so much. But i do have a one question. I am working on a tote bag with a star on it right now. My question is one the back side after i finished crocheting after dropping and dropping the secondary color, how do you fix the backside that is hanging the secondary color, is there a way to make the backside more neater? Maybe sewing the hanging colors into the project?

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  9 месяцев назад

      Exactly - once you have completed your project (or when you’re sure you don’t need those colors anymore) you can weave in the loose strands to hide them and make them disappear.

    Please show the back of the work more slowly so we can see exactly which strands you're carrying and which you drop. Am I right in thinking you carried the first yellow strand, the white accent strand, and the yellow working yarn? Three strands carried behind at one time?
    I'd be very interested to see how this translates in a piece with five or six colors in a single row.
    SUPER helpful even though I have so many questions! Thank you!

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  Год назад +1

      Hi and thank you for subscribing! The key with the multiple colors is only carrying it during the duration that you’re using that color and then dropping it until you need it again. The main color was always carried yes. The white was dropped as soon as I was done with it.
      I didn’t get a lot of interest regarding this hack so I’m not sure when I’ll do a more in depth with several colors because I recommended it for small projects . BUT , I will keep it in mind . Does this get harder if it’s a larger tapestry? I have a blanket I am working on. Uses 3 different colors and has a frog on it….any advice is appreciated!! The pattern is all single crochet but I really feel that the other colors stand out too much while being carried and would look odd with Back loop only…

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  Год назад +1

      You definitely don’t have to do back loop only with it. It helps straighten the image a little but definitely not necessary. I don’t always do it either.
      Carrying the main color of yarn on a large piece is doable but will expend a lot of yarn. I would recommend that you try a sample seat to see how you get on with it because it takes longer .
      See how it feels to work that way 💕😍

    Won't your rows begin to lean, though? When you are working ITR, your stitches lean/migrate to the left. Seems like working rows all from the RS would result in a rhombus rather than a square.

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  Год назад

    I immediately noticed she is holding the crochet hook the way i used to hold it which is wrong. Bc if u hold ur hand under like a pencil then that can cause carpal tunnel, arthritis, etc. It’s best to hold ur hand above the handle/hook. I believe I’m the only one in the comments to notice this and point it out. Im not trying to be mean I just notice little details. But the video is great keep it up. ;)

      It’s not mean but I recommend that you please do not encourage others to crochet in a way that is not comfortable to them. It’s neither the right way or the wrong way. This is comfortable to me and I’ve been crocheting for over 30 years. Daily for the past 4 years.
      Here is a video where I discuss this :
