Are you able to report on how accurate the Muse S is for all night sleep tracking vs a clinical EEG? Has there been any 3rd party testing?
Dr Rall, have you tried wearing the Dreem 2 and the Muse S at the same time to test the sleep tracking results side by side? Is it even possible to get good sensor placement with them both on at the same time? I have both. Is there a reason I've not tried this myself yet? :)

Which ones log data for analysis the best do you think? If someone is a victim of havana syndrome and rf neuroweapons which ones will detect the outside interference of synthetic neurosignals? My Muse S battery purchased 5/2021 lasts quite well throughout an entire night. The only time I have had it quit before I woke up is when I failed to charge it fully before going to bed. That said, it does take at least 8 hours of recharge time so don't forget to plug it in when you wake up!

I used my new Muse S 2nd Gen for the first time last night and it was the best sleep I’ve had in ages. I was a previous Muse 2 meditation user. I was unsure about clunking down $400+ but it was worth it.
Does it just track your sleep? Or does it actually help you sleep? I'm an insomniac and not interested i n tracking my sleep. I'm interested in getting sleep. Is there a component of active sleep therapy?

Yes and the Dreem 2 has not been selling direct to consumer for several months. Agreed, this video needs an update. Hoping to get one out soon. Thanks for the comment.

Dr. Cody, you likely saw the announcement from Dreem earlier this month saying they will no longer sell consumer products; as you seem to suggest, and as I've experienced, the Muse S is terrible for true all-night sleep monitoring. I was diagnosed last year with severe CSA but due to the COVID pandemic it's nearly impossible to find quality sleep care (since it's apparently universally administered by pulmonology programs which remain overburdened by emergency care needs). Can you suggest any alternatives so people in my situation can at least try to collect data while sitting on waiting lists?

As far as I know Dreem limits data export to their clinical and research customers, or possibly anybody that pays the very high price for that level of access.
Hello. You can try to ask them, they are very receptive and nice. Me, I havae asked about an application in order focus and train our brain. Unfortunelly no, but he sayed that he will speak about developpers. I think perhaps if you ask, they will do it after. Keep me in touch if they answer. Best regards
The Muse devices collect data in much more detail than is shown in the Muse app - if you sign up for their beta test program you can be emailed a much more complete sleep report each day showing many more sleep metrics including a more accurate polysomnogram, sleep spindle analysis and full EEG time-frequency graphs.
Can Muse S give the coherence of our brain wave?
Seems cool but iam scared to be dependable on a device even for my sleep. What if I become addictive to it and then can't sleep without it, making my normal sleep without device almost impossible and then in long run making it hard to sleep even with device. What are your views. Please reply.
I use the Muse S for next-day sleep analysis and not for real-time sleep training, so there is no danger of becoming dependent on the device to get to sleep.

Hi Cody, I’m surprised you didn’t mention what is probably the most interesting Dreem feature, its ability to detect when your brain gets out of deep sleep and stimulate it generating certain type of sound through bone conduction.
The Dreem 2 currently does not have that feature. They decided not to include it to meet FDA requirements. The bone conduction is still experimental. This is not anecdotal and comes directly from my conversations with the company.

I think we’re a long way off from digitally inducing sleep without effort from the user. It sounds more like a gimmick TBH, and I doubt it works well. I could be very wrong, however, and I’d be willing to say I’m wrong if I had some evidence.
Does the Muse S have the Bluetooth cut off ability as well as the Dream?
No, it needs to maintain Bluetooth connectivity to your phone to track your brain activity. However, it is quite able to tolerate intermittent dropouts if you move outside of Bluetooth reception range during the night before coming back to sleep, and picks up tracking once you are in range again.
Great comparison! I have both two: Muse S for naps & meditation vs Dreem 2 for full sleep. Have you heard of Beddr SleepTuner? It's not an EEG, but I'm curious what your thoughts are on it compared to Dreem 2 for sleep issues

Muse just announced that the Muse S will do all night sleep-tracking effective 12/1/2020. I haven't tested it but I hate the US Dreem2 so much that I purchased a Muse S and am looking forward to seeing how it works for my needs.

I didn't know the dreem 2 was USD $499 , it retailed in the UK for £399 if I remember correctly ... They reduced it to £299 last year before they pulled the device out of the market. Glad I purchased it 2 weeks ago someone was selling one on eBay for £500 , got it for £370 in the end.
My dream 2 doesn't work anymore , doesn't connect to the phone .... The dreem company don't care they say they don't support it anymore. Its basically useless now ,it worked superbly when it worked ( only worked for a year ) it gave good deep sleep using the deep sleep stimulation and great info on my sleep metrics . Does the muse s do they same thing ?

I'm really not sure. I think it is possible in theory but I wonder about the battery life.

@@tahirahmed33 Yes, It’s true. But for me it’s not possible to achieve. I sleep on the side and the band does not work good in this position when you press the device against the skull.

Which is better to enhance wet dreaming? I get wet dreams about once a month but I'd like to increase their frequency, and to combine them with lucid dreaming. A final goal is to increase output during a wet dream. My nocturnal emission is currently about 1 teaspoon according to my roommates, and I'd like to increase to 2 teaspoons. Which device would help me do that?

Those are rookie numbers, you should be able to get up to a quart by using Muse S. Just make sure to wrap your bed in cellophane and drink a lot of high fructose corn sugar.

4:50 If I'm trying to use a Dreem 2 with a CPAP mask, it seems like a lot of loops above/around my head. The Muse S seems like a simpler headband and less likely to be caught with all the CPAP mask bands. Wait... Muse S doesn't last an entire night??? 😆
With Muse S you fall asleep before it syncs. I can only use it for meditation for anything else is horrible and the software is very limited and glitchy.

i bought a new set, but unfortuantely the app could not connect to the dream server. the tech support person supported since 4 days ago when i reported the problem but didn't get the point and the problem remains the same😂

@@CodyRallMD thank you for asking. it's true. it's the app that could not connect to the dreem server, so i have never used the newly bought dreem 2 once😂 the dreem tech support suggested to me to use a vpn. i tried two vpn's, but neither solved the problem. btw my phone has never had problem connecting via 4g or WiFi or using vpn's.

Yes meditation and neurofeedback will help with ADHD. But it depends on how much effort you are willing to put in

I dont think so mate, the device is too small and wont have enough battery capacity to record a full nights sleep. I may be wrong but just a thought. The dreem.has quite a big battery in comparison
It does. I have recently purchased one for that purpose. The battery holds 9 hours if you use it with Mind Monitor.
