For those of you who are curious, I will explain the difference between the "Dear You"s to the best of my abilities. So, there is a "You (Vocal)", it's the original version and featured in Meakashi-hen. In the past this was often hard to find and frequently confusing due to frequent mislabeling. The original version of "You" was a non vocal version of this that appeared in the game. Then there was "You - visionen im spegiel", which was a remix of the original, this one. It featured in in the Outbreak OVA, and was released in the Kakera-Musubi album. "Dear You" is actually the name of the album which is the origin of the name, it included four songs actually titled Dear You. There are various other "Dear You"s, which are ones other characters sing or otherwise various remixes of the original, both instrumental and vocal. Also pretty much all of them are actually just called "You" with a subtitle, and the songs are prone to frequent mislabelling since they share the same motif and same base name. In Tsumihoroboshi-hen, there was a piece titled "Ano Hi, Ano Basho, Subete ni Arigatō", which while not titled "You" is styled the same and sung by the main character, thus being affectionately nicknamed "Dear You - Trust" It also was released in a music album also called "Ano Hi, Ano Basho, Subete ni Arigatō" later on. There is also one titled 'With "you" -Kizuna-' which is sung by all of the characters. It was released in a limited edition fan disc. It's one of the best ones in my opinion. It's also often referred to as "Dear You - Bond", and other similar recombinations of the translated name. So that's it, if you were curious, now you know, such is the fruits of my efforts in an attempt to find every version of this song. Edit: Many years later, I've updated this comment with some better info since it's a lot easier to find and I'm much better at finding it. I'm not gonna actually go and list all of the versions because there is a LOT of them. If you really wanna hear all of them, the most complete compilation with accurate labelling I've found is a video called "Higurashi - you (All Versions)"
Thanks. I've been wondering over all the different versions of this song. But I think this is the best version of them all. It really gives you this epic feeling that the others doesn't give :)
uGuardian I love all the different You's but while this one is undeniably the most epic, I like Dear You as well because it is more calming than this one. (And easier to transcribe onto piano)
Ahh, the ending of the Outbreak. We can still hope one day it may get a sequel, so we may not say a big goodbye for the Higurashi series yet. Higurashi is a masterpiece by itself, I can't understand how it's not even popular, it's a perfect story with perfect characters and perfect plot. And the fact it represents friendship in the best way made me tear up a bit and there haven't been anything like at all that has made me feel like that. There can be nothing that can top the unique experience that is Higurashi.
I came expecting a quiet, relaxing song as I’ve come to expect that out of every Dear You, but damn 1:41, I wasn’t expecting those powerful instruments.
If you Google 'youtube to MP3 converter' you can find a website that allows you to convert any RUclips video under a certain length to an MP3 format and then download it. I use one called www.youtube-mp3.org, which allows any video less than 20 minutes.
@LyricalBonanza :/ why. i dont read the lyrics, i sorta just play it while i do something. if this quality is better than i would... but if you insist :F
