guys ... I am an Ommadawn ultra, and your rendition is superb. This performance is peak Mike Oldfield interpretation. It is so good, it is a piece of art in itself. You interpreted this piece giving it a new sound while honoring the Oldfield version.
This rendition is true to Ommadawn. Not as complex, but the sound is there. The music is there. In this video you don't listen to Mike Oldfield but you listen to Ommadawn. If I could meet these musicians in real life, I would like to thank them. Adding another facet to Ommadawn.
IMHO Ommadawn part 2 is always in the shadow of part 1 but this performance makes part 2 shine brighter than ever before. Very very beautiful. Thanks for posting.
... love it !!! 🤩 great interpretation (!!!) - your feel/sound/right-hand-technique/even hair cut ist quite close to Mike (then)😉, really enjoyed it as Ommadawn is - maybe - my fav' piece of music of all times 🙏 THANK YOU !!! 💓
Ruben Alvarez and Robert Reed will both be playing at the Tubular Bells Convention at Arlington Arts Centre 27th /28th May 23. Well worth the trip if you can make it.
This is fantastic! Although I miss the pipes, this is still a beautiful, stripped down version of one of my favourite pieces. Was intrigued to hear how the electric guitar part would sound at the end and it did not disappoint! Worthy of Oldfield himself. Would love to have seen this live.
with Mike Oldfield covers, I expect the almost-impossible: Stay true to the maestro, and give me your interpretation. This does it. It is actually Ommadawn part 2, and it tells a new story. Very melodic and resonant. Then the honky-tonk chimes in. Steven-Seagul-lookalike on the recorder, Ringo-Starr-alike on guitar ... what could go wrong?

Magnífico!!!. Mike estaría muy orgulloso de esta maravillosa versión. Grandes músicos, gracias!!

This performance is outstanding.
The tone, the rhythm ... the melody, the harmonics.

Timeless music. Lovely performance. The hairs on my neck are standing up!
Beautiful, just like the original. Rubén is an outstanding guitarist.
had a really hard day. Came to this again. At least for the time being, I am saved.
These maestro musicians know their trade.
It sends shivers down my spine, even without Paddy Moloney's uilleann pipes.
Amazing ❤
Goosepumps and tears in my eyes. ❤😢❤
Oldfield never played Ommadawn part 2 in concert as far as I know and this is including the awesome finale, brilliant!
very nice -- first time I've ever heard anyone cover it so perfectly
I now listened to this using my Airpods Max.
It was so good, I had to listen to "On Horseback" afterwards to find closure.
Really good!
Ohhh I loved that!!!😁👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Amazing rendition. I hope to hear more Oldfield soon.
Espectacular !!!!!!!
Terrific rendition. Thanks for posting.
That was absolutely incredible. Very moving.

AMAZING!!! It's so beautifull
Grandes!!!
VERY nicely done!
quel kif! merci
Un concert en France?
I thought the guitarist was very much influenced by the Portuguese Fado style, and looking at the names I see why!
Ruben is Spanish. He will be playing shortly at the Arlington Arts 50th anniversary Tubular Bells weekend.
@@terryhastings7174 Well, I was close! Excellent anyway.
