I started using a leave in conditioner around 7months I think bc I noticed just using grape seed oil alone wasn’t working anymore. Then when I noticed he was losing hair in the back, I started doing the ponytails. I’ve been just winging it and trying to figure it out as I go tbh so idk but you’ll notice when something isn’t working or you need to do more.

I guess both! I try to make sure that whatever style I do on him looks good but also helps to protect the area where his came out.

He’s adorable Ebenie - thanks for sharing!!! I used a similar method today for my little dude but wiggle-wise was only able to do the front two. :) question - is it okay for them to sleep with a style like this in? I assume a nap is okay but what about overnight?

Thank you! My son does sleep with his hair in whatever style I do but I’ve heard people say they like to take rubber bands out at night bc of the tension. My reason for keeping them in is because it helps stop a lot of the friction on his bald spot while he’s sleeping bc that’s what initially caused it. When he gets a little older he’ll start sleeping with a bonnet too.
