Background/context: -I own my fair share of Rolex sport watches, Panerais, and TAGs Prior to picking up my Tudor Black Bay Chrono (SS Bezel), I watched quite a few reviews and I was kind of nervous about the watch being too big (since quite a few commenters harped about it so much). So maybe subconsciously, I wore my Panerai 111 (a 44mm watch) to brace my self. I saw my AD and he presented me the watch and I was SMH... I was expecting a behemoth and I was pleasantly surprised how nicely this fits on my wrist. I'm not a big person, but the watch still looks great on my wrist. Beauty definitely lies on the eye of the beholder. Some notes: Negatives: - Those faux rivets are hideous. People keep on commenting that you won't notice them. If you don't like them to begin with, then YOU WILL DEFINITELY notice them. If you don't like the rivets, you will notice them, just like I do. It's what I unintentionally notice each time I look at my watch. - This is not a Rolex. This is not a Daytona. If you want a Rolex, save up for a Rolex. - If you prefer 36mm or 39mm watches, then this watch will be substantially larger for your preference. Positives: - If you have worn a 44mm Panerai or 41mm Rolex sports watch or 40+mm TAG watch, then this Tudor Black Bay is not going to be an issue. - This is such a GORGEOUS watch (sans faux rivets). I can't stop looking at it. It's sharp, well made, and has a tangible Rolex quality about it (makes sense since, it's made by Rolex Co.) - If you already have a Rolex, this watch is PERFECT! It's a nice alternative to your Rolexes. When I wear my two-tone or SS Rolex, I feel the stigma that goes along with it. I can't wear it when I go to work (i'm surrounded by savers), or to church meetings (very simple and humble people) or to parent-teacher meetings. But when I wear my Tudor BB Chrono, I wear it without worrying about what people will think. I can wear it without the fear of getting jumped/mugged/robbed. - People who are in the know (fellow horologists), will know about this watch. When I wear my Rolexes or Panerais, I get no comments nor compliments. Conversely, the first time I wore my Tudor Chrono, I had a stranger approach me and just positively raved about the watch. It supports my theory that with a Tudor, you don't come off as a Rolex snob, but someone who appreciates a nice looking watches and is (dare I say it) approachable :-). Guys (and Gals), if you are interested in this watch, I highly recommend it. - I'm planning on buying an aftermarket SS bracelet with no rivets. I know, I know, it's not the real-deal and defeats the purpose of that "Tudor-riveted" look, but I really don't like the faux rivets. I can't wait until I get the aftermarket SS. The Tudor BB Line is so well-built. And very sharp. I have the GMT and love it. It pairs well with the Chrono panda. The white dial and black accents are such an outstanding and elegant and sporty look.
Got to pull you up on the comment "You can just walk in and buy one of these" Not in the UK or US you cannot They are waiting list watches currently as the market (possibly those who want a Daytona) have gone crazy for them and all sell immediately and few even make it into the stores window after 2 months This should die down hopefully - much like it did for the GMT but currently they are hot property lol. I have the same reverse panda and this watch is not available currently in the US at most AD’s , right now most AD’s are saying 2-6 months waiting time and that is with a deposit with some AD’s. I bought mine the first week it was launched and I love everything about it . The only thing I do notice is that the crown to wind the watch is much tighter to wind . Excellent watch and Tudor has a great watch they have come out with .
@@MrNegroni I want to see the new Black Bay Ceramic and see how the weight is as well as the thickness . I still think that the new Marine Nationale Tudor special Edition is going to be released this year and that is the watch that I am looking forward to .
I just got the white dial on the leather strap, love it…I have the ceramic Daytona in black…love the date on the Tudor, which the Daytona doesn’t have.
Gorgeous watch. I like the stainless steel version in the non-panda as well. The rivets are awesome and I agree, it is a bit of a Rolex killer. Tudor did well with this watch.
To me watch collecting is not about the price, it is about quality of the piece, something you can pass on to your kids. In my humble opinion I think Seiko SKX007 (I own one) is one of those that will last forever and I think Tudor will be the more expensive piece that will do the same but with Rolex quality. Personally I can't and won't fork up the $ for Rolex for 2 reasons.....price and it's clearly you are just showing off. Real watch enthusiasts don't really collect Rolexes anyways, it's more of a statement piece. Most people that buys Rolexes probably doesn't know the existence of JLC , Jacob or Zenith. With that being said, I would buy a Tudor.

Great watch for sure but calling it a "Rolex killer" is a bit of a stretch. That's not beating the Rolex Daytona, just because the Daytona is super unattainable.
On the Chrono: 45 minutes shall kill the daytona? The additional date we know since decades. But the real kings of hill are the Big-Blocks and Small-Blocks. Twelve hours chrono-stop-time and - of course - a date.
Biggest problem with the Tudor riveted bracelet and that’s the NON- glidelock style on the fly adjustment clasp. I’ve stopped buying Tudor until they upgrade the clasp
Seems to be pretty resilient to scratches actually. Use it as a daily wear and has held up great. I also don’t bother with the protective cover like the Rolexes.
those ridiculous slab sides have ruined everything in my life. perfect watches made totally unwearable because Tudor decided a good design decision would be to have 13+mm of unbroken slab looking like hockey pucls on people's wrists. just asinine.
