In another video she said she was auditioned by Apple for another project in 2005.
Apple recorded her voice in 2005 for general-purpose text-to-speech applications, and retains full rights over those recordings. Therefore, she did get paid.

I heard it took her 4 hrs a day for a month. She probably just got paid for the time it took her to record what they needed. Most voice actors charge between $350-$600 an hr. 4x30x her rate. She likely isn't getting residuals for being Siri.

She's also the voice of Delta Airlines, and GPS & Google Maps (incl phones)! I hear her in the airport AND in the car when I travel too! She better be getting paid for every damn thing plus royalties on every update.
She's also the voice of Ford, McDonald's, Bixby, Visa, and too many other to name.
That siri exists amazes, there are literally endless things to be said how on earth did this whole thing come to be recorded?! Did she just recite a dictionary?
She recorded a bunch of lines and AI comes up with the rest i think
She recorded a bunch of weird sentences that had no actual meaning but contained all the possible combinations of English sounds. This is necessary because for example a consonant with a vowel is different from the same consonant with another vowel, even though we perceive them as the same. Exact pronunciation varies depending on context and native speakers don't even realize they're doing it, as it is innate.
She also said that she had to speak in a monotone voice and that was hard for her but she got used to it. After working on the project she kind of had to get used to speaking with intonation again
