Such a nice surprise to come home from surgery to 3 new videos! The Omar Wrap is for sure going to be my recovery project. Thanks for all you do to keep us crochet nerds hooking!
This is gorgeous! I've been going down the pinterest rabbit hole looking for small shawl project like this for about a week now, and here you are with one of the prettiest ones out there. Thanks so much, Toni :) Love from Texas
You and Mike from the Crochet Crowd. I am a lefty. I’m looking at this pattern I would really love it if you would re-shoot how to make the foundation roll from the beginning because your hands are far away from the from the camera in the one that I saw. I will go through other ones now and starting this one to see if it’s there I hope I haven’t spoken out of turn but I just remember really wanting to find just that alone and be able to see it. Well thank you for all you do!! Beautiful patterns, beautiful spiritual healing gifts 🎁 Christ Jesus glory. Blessings.
I agree I wish I had found Toni 6 years ago. Such a patient clear teacher. Once I've done my loveland shawl.. current Wip, I will be moving on to the Omar! Ya know... I heard Toni does all her crochet in a blacked out room with a blind fold on while listening to the sounds of pins drop and cats meows, that's how good she is!! 🤣🤣🤣 Ok ok just in case my 'funny' doesn't translate well I was totally kidding!! It's not pins drop its birds chirping! 😜😁
Thank you Toni for your amazing tutorials. I'm a beginner with Tunisian crochet, but find it so easy to understand and the results is great. Just finished a Mesa Hat, and Day Dream Shawl in 1 weekend, will definitely give this a try as Spring is on its way in South Africa.
I really enjoy watching your videos. I also appreciate the work and thought you put in preparing them. Being self taught from books I can see what I do wrong and never thought about blocking. I'm glad you showed the use of knitting blocks and a steamer. You have earned your success and I look forward to seeing more in the future. The best to you. 🐑
So beautifull i made it for my daughter,.. i am from the netherlands... and you have such beautifull collor nails,... thank you for this video,.. greetings jacqueline
I have looked so much from watching your videos. I will need to watch this again before I try this pattern. I already have a gift in mind for this pattern. Thank you so much for your clear directions.
I just completed this scarf and I love it. I am a beginner and left handed and your instructions were so clear I had no problems whatsoever. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you so much. I'm going to make another!!
I am having SO much fun making this scarf - I don't usually even wear this kind of scarf but I am going to wear the heck out of this beautiful piece! Crochet Academy has been a blast and I. love your clear teaching style
I'm starting this shawl and wanted to let you know that I really enjoy the other patterns of yours! Thank you for these tutorials, it really helps us newbies 😊
I love keeping your video's on all day, just to listen. I made the Mesa Tunisian hat. Frogged the rows going up about 10 times lol but was totally worth it.
I've been doing the magic ring backward for YEARS and it's driven me crazy (I'm a lefty). Thank you so much for showing us your easy way to do it right!!!
currently working on a blanket for my nephew, but I think I'm going to make this my next project. Just happen to have two cakes of mandala yarn that I got for a steal not long ago, so it's meant to be!
I just ordered 300g of yarn because it was to pretty to not order and was desperately scanning round for what to make with it. This looks like a winner to me!
Love this pattern and your videos. You are an amazing instructor ❤️. I just started the Omar wrap (after 2 practices) and love this pattern so much and such an amazing yarn pairing. Looks amazing!
I think this is the perfect thing for coming down from all the amigurumi I made for the holidays. I have had so much fun on my temperature blanket but I have to wait for more days HAHA. Thank you so much for this pattern!
Hey...I ran into the same at row 42 and I'm so confused as to ...did I do something wrong?? The pattern really could use more information. I know I have equal stitches on each side and my actual measurements are very close to what's on the pattern. I'm torn as to ...do I frog some of it but how far back??
I have this yarn along with the purple, the denim blue, tranquil, and the serene.... I started this triangle scarf already for my daughter and grandbaby....Mother/daughter scarves.....
Thank you so much for yet and wonderful pattern! I think it would but I'm not sure... I'm going on a long trip in a couple months, and I think this'll be the perfect project! I remember you saying that for a neater edge you can just chain 1 and then do a double crochet in the first stitch. Would that work for this project?
Simpática persona, muchas gracias por tus videos se ven muy bien, perooo me gustaria la traducción en español,me acompañaría mucho mas a tus clases de crochet, mil gracias.
Hello Toni…I made my first Omar Shawl and it turned out beautiful (used Mandala Ombre Felicity yarn); however, my daughter wished that it was wider and longer when I gave it to her (birthday gift). So I took it back and added 6 more rows at the bottom, that did make it longer, but it was disproportionate width-wise where the fullness should have been. She said it was okay and that she was happy with it, but I am not and am ordering more Felicity color to make her another one. In addition, I have 2 more daughters’ I’m make the same shawl for as birthday gifts as soon as I know how to modify the size. Please advise me how best to increase the width and length of the Shawl so it is properly proportioned. Unfortunately, I am not experienced enough to know how. Thank you in advanced for your advice and help. Kind regards, Janice W.
Does anyone know how many v stitches there should be on either side in row 43 or how many double crochets there should be on either side for row 44? My row 45 is one short and I can’t find the mistake. Thanks!
@@eurekaseven50 I haven't figured it out yet. I started a second one and the same thing happened. Now I have two that a few rows short of being finished 🤣
It’s absolutely stunning. My only concern is as I’m a beginner I find it a bit hard to follow as it’s bit fast. My other concern is from the camera angle I m not sure where I supposed to put the “V” stitches.
Very beautiful work. I'm lost without numbers and stitch counts. I rely on closed captions and transcripts due to hearing problems. If you could include stitch counts in your transcripts I might actually be able to follow along, I'd be so grateful. I'd love to make some of your beautiful creations. 😊
I love it, but I want to use an acrylic yarn (hypoallergenic) and my understanding was that there's no sense in blocking acryllic. What do you think? Isn't there a way to put the edging all the way around instead of just on two edges?
You can and should block acrylic. You can put a border if you want, but that likely will not even out your edges. I have a video on blocking acrylic that might shed some light on things.
Hi Toni, I'm curious to know why in this demo you frogged row 17? Row 17 definitely changed the shape of my scarf. Is it supposed to do that? Will the scarf turn out ok if we don't do row 17? Thanks!
Tap on your screen and you can pause or rewind or fast forward. It’s helped me a lot as a new crochet er who learned in lockdown from lots of RUclips vids. That way you can watch a bit , do your rows and stop start and rewind at your speed.
I have to say this is the hardest video and pattern to follow, and I know how to follow a pattern. I wished there was a diagram to help and a V stitch count to follow, because the pattern looks to jumble. I was really looking forward to this wrap too 😅.
Hello, I am new at crochet, and I am lost on my counts in row 31, I miss one stitch before my center marker. Can someone help me? How many double-crochet are there on each side, apart from turning chains, v-stitch and fan? Is there a place I can refer to for those counts? Thanks a lot!
I am getting hung up on row 16 and 17. I’ve redone row 16 four times and can’t figure out what is going wrong. But when I finish row 17 I am off by a double crochet when I get to my turning chain. I’m going to go crazy 😅
Carol, you can do this. There is a face book group that could help. Also, just look at the pattern and look at the video. Stop the video and keep going back until you get it.YOU CAN DO THIS.👍👍👏👏
Any chance anyone knows of any blanket patterns with a similar look? I made this triangle scarf and my 3 year old is always taking it from me to use as a blanket, lol. I’d love to make her a square or rectangle shape for her to use as an actual blanket.
This was my first garment and loved the way you broke it down into simple steps! Thank you!

Love your videos! I stumbled upon your book on Amazon a couple months ago, and pre-ordered it on the spot! You are a truly gifted teacher! THANK YOU!

This is a beautiful design. I really need to try it. Thanks.
OMG! I think I made mine too loose because I ran out of yarn for rows 45 and 46. I just ordered another skein. Thanks for the great tutorial!
