    20 years ago I was told I was tested and had a zero RA factor. 7 years later I was nearly crippled and had to insist my doc send me to rheumatology. By then my RA factor was over 600. I was diagnosed with RA and palindromic arthritus. Never let a family doc tell you its fibro, bursitus, perimenopause, motherhood....

    I’m 40 and started suffering in the last two months. Swelling mostly in my wrists. I can’t do much. Even running a vacuum or scrubbing my bathtub sets me back. Before this, I was enjoying my diesel mechanic job and doing jiu jitsu. Now I’m covered in hives from head to toe and anytime I go off prednisone I swell up really bad and get even more hives. I have tested negative to everything. My rheumatologist is finally going to start trying medications but I’m so stressed out bc I haven’t been able to work. Thank you for your encouraging videos.

    Thank you so much for this video. I suddenly started having symptoms of RA last year. I’ve seen several doctors at my surgery because that’s how it is these days and they’ve all had differing opinions, I’ve had several rounds of blood tests and X-rays that have all had negative results apart from the last one when they included the ANA test which came back positive.
    The doctor said it’s nothing to be concerned about because 30% of the population test positive for no reason, I asked why do it then and he said that it’s only part of the picture so I mentioned that my sister in law has a type of arthritis that doesn’t show up in tests or X-rays but couldn’t remember the name, he’d never heard of anything like it, asked me to look it up and tell him when we next speak.
    I feel validated after watching this video, my doctor said he will refer me to rheumatology which is probably the best place for me because I know my body and there’s something not right, I did have covid a month or two before this started and the doctor did say we could be looking at long covid though, I guess we’ll see but I hope for the best.

    I live in Australia. In 1998 started having joint and muscle pain, was 42yrs old. Dr did tests and found I had a rh of 119, all other tests normal. Drs tried all the usual drugs, very little if any made any difference. I found the hotter the weather the better I was. Moved 3300klm north to a hotter climate and markedly better except in winter. Many Drs later was diagnosed with cryoglobulineamia type 3. Perfect match for my symptoms and rh is a clear marker for it. Also found complement C1q is very low. Still chasing the cause of of the Cryo as it is only a symptom not the cause.
    I have seen numerous Rheumatologists, Immunologist etc all without luck. I am now 67 yrs old without a clear condition to treat/ cure. My condition seems to be triggered if I get cold....

      I was told the same thing by three different doctors... all your tests are negative, it's just osteoarthritis. Luckily my GP gave in and sent me to a rheumatologist in a big city, a 5 hour drive from my house. Success! The rheumatologist took one look at my hands and feet and after my history and tests, he diagnosed seronegative RA. After 4 days on prednisone, I couldn't believe the difference. Methotrexate did nothing and I'm on infusions of Remicade. Don't give up. Someone will finally listen.

    Hi, I am 27 years old and suffering from hip joint pain. when i first consulted doctor he diagnosed it as a axial Spondyloarthritis . few blood test were made including HLAB27. i followed medicine around one year. After that I consulted different doctor. he asked me to take RAfactor test. apparently it become neagative. so the type of treatment become seronegative arthrities. started with hydroxicloriquine and a nerve injection for few month. after that doctor prescribed few multiovitamin and minaralsoftest tablets and injection (nervijen injection ). but now Im experiancing heavy pain in hip hoint and its quite hard for me. my question is weather i have to change the treatment or should i go with same.I know your time is valuable . it would be great if you spend few mins to read my comments . I was diagnosed with RA 8 years ago. A mild form he said. I was put on methotrexate immediately and told not to go off of it. I get a blood test done every 6-8 weeks. During the pandemic I was cutting out carbs quite a bit, taking 4-5 thousand units of vitamin D and cut out the wine. Eventually my rheumatologist told me that my markers were normal and if a student was looking at the test, they would say this person did not have RA. I’m wondering if I was misdiagnosed. I don’t like the idea of taking methotrexate if I don’t have to. Any suggestions of questions I should ask my Dr?

    • @nancy9478

      It was cutting the carbs and wine, I think. Keto/carnivore reduce inflammation. Have a look at Drs Ken Berry, Anthony Chaffee and Sean Baker for more info. I eat meat based and my markers are good. Adding vitamin is also very helpful.

    • @rheumatologistoncall
      @rheumatologistoncall  Год назад +1

      It can be frustrating when your doctor doesn't seem to believe your concerns. One way to approach this is to be persistent and keep advocating for yourself. Keep track of your symptoms and bring them up to your doctor at every appointment. You can also ask for a referral to a specialist, such as a rheumatologist, who may have more experience with your specific symptoms and conditions.
