    I know Rocky is co-star on the show but I think he's vying for the lead actor slot, he does have a natural strut and looks tuff. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞

      I won't ever take a car to Walmart for ANYTHING ever again.
      Did once for a battery and oil change, only bc we were in the process of moving, and I had no tools...
      3 "technicians" couldn't figure out how to disconnect the battery, and they put lock tight on the oil drain plug......

    Fords of that era also shifter-interlock issues. Many times you would have to pull and hold the shifter up when it was in park in order for it to start.

    • @jakereal3604
      @jakereal3604 3 года назад

      I have a 67 Tbird and 70 Mark lll. The issue you refer to is generally one of two problems. ONE the linkage bushing over time dry out and crack giving you way too much slack in the shifter linkage system. The other problem is the neutral safety switch just needs a slight adjustment. One you have to push hard upwards to start it it means neutral switch needs to be loosened and slide to the RIGHT just a tad. Maybe like 1/16-1/8”. Been there done that. Only issue with the bushings is there’s I believe THREE different sizes in the linkage. One in a stationary bracket, one where transmission shift shaft meets a shit linkage, and there’s one - two more I. There I forget what location. I changed all mine with NOS bushings and it’s awesome. No slop, and Park and Neutral allow car to start everytime!! Been wrenching since I’m 14, I’m 55 now so ……. Lol on the booster. I had Booster Dewey redo mine and that was about 28 years ago and it’s still fine!!

    I remember these cars new as my neighbor across the street bought one new. Anyway, the brake booster is the 2nd ugliest job you can perform on one of these but here are a few tips I learned along the way. 1) You do have a bad brake booster. 2) There's a TBird parts place in KY that had them (or at least they did twenty years ago). 3) You will go through several until you find one that was rebuilt correctly. 4) They're expensive. 5) Buy the booster and master cylinder as a matched pair. You have to work inside and outside of the car to replace these.....in/out, in/out, etc. behind the dash on the cabin side firewall are two or three bolts that hold it on. Long skinny arms help here. There is an adjustment rod with an adjustment sleeve like tie rod ends that have to be adjusted to match booster to MC (this is why you buy them together as a matched set). The rod governs how much boost. A bad booster will suck the pedal to the floor locking your brakes up if they are adjusted correctly and you have to pull the plastic check valve out of the booster on the engine side to release the vacuum pressure but they will also release themselves in about 5-8 hours. Before street test drive, make sure emergency brake works as it should. Emergency brakes are mechanical but released by vacuum module when shifter moves from park to drive.
    I don't know how I stumbled on your channel but it was very entertaining. Personally I would have picked a TBird in better condition but that one will be a great teacher if you don't get mad and torch it first! I used to be a Ford man until the 2nd wife got me hooked on Mercedes.
    Good luck and contact me if you get stuck.

    That T-BIRD deserves proper restoration, interior is unique and looks much more stylish and luxurious than some of the larger cars like Cadillacs and Lincolns, only sportier.
    So in my opinion, the interior including; floors, dash and upholstery should be redone to original as best as possible. Engine bay should also be black with the Thunderbird- blue valve covers painted with signature blue.
    I can imagine a deep rich turquoise paint with graphite black casing rims with a bright inner logo in center.

    Rocky is like my dog Chubby has to be in my lap when I do videos. Sometimes old cars just have a lot of little quirks and bugs to fix in them pretty much what I think you have going on with that T Bird.

    I wonder with that old power booster brake system if the engine running it might make bleeding the brakes a little easier ............ It did work on my old merc ! P.S. dude that floor on the passengers side came out awesome ! Shoot , Who would knock that job to the bad side .......... A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ROCKY , , , HOW COOL IS THAT GOAT !
