I know the kids like to see modified pulling and monster trucks or whatever, but stock tractors are very entertaining. You can see how your own machines might compare
Now THIS is what tractor pulling really is. Not all modded up to the nines with umpteen engines and blowing up or destroying themselves and the things all around them. Love seeing real working tractors doing work.
Thanks for posting this video. Real tractors showing what they can do, though some were definitely operated with greater skill than others. I could hardly believe the was some of those operators failed to demonstrate what their mounts could do by a wide margin. Thank you, especially, for including an Allis-Chalmers derived tractor. That was our family's tractor dealership, and they provided many great memories, including rescuing stuck trucks and cars. Good luck!
Well,folks-thats what I love about real farm people: They work hard-they go to their banks for a tractor and a pick-up loan-they work their butts off-they dont know about bank holidays and 40 hour weeks-they carry a shit load of resposibility for their family in these uncertain times..........and STILL :here they are displaying their machines, having a fantastic great time among peers !!! Thats what its about :Thank GOD,I m a country boy ! Yeah!
Richard Pruitt enjoyed the video. Years ago I used to pull at DE Leon,Tx. Finally a lot of us quit because they basically threw the rule book in the trash can. Sure do miss it
That was good to watch; out of the field are the best. When I was young we used to enter the local tractor out of the field pulls. Sometimes we have two tractors in the pull in two different weight classes. If you were pulling against a higher horse power tractors in the same weight class, such as a 4 cly engine pulling against 6 cly engine tractors . You may do better in pulling in a lower gear.
That John Deere 4640 weight is stickered 14350 to 18585 lbs. I am sure for them to be pulling at 15,000, they have to be at or just below it. I am assuming below so they can add weights.
Your right...most have been "massaged".I pulled for 5 years including modified....and I beat the competition many times with a lower gear than using a higher one.If you get hooked up to the track well..you need low end torque for max pull...lower gear is many times necessary. I have a room full of trophies to prove it...cheers.
@cowzgonemad dude a 1066 weighs somewhere between 12k-13k with no weights and every tractor their had weights.... the sled they pull weighs probly 45k at the end
Just because they are "farm stock" does not mean they are not worked on or turned up on engine. Farm stock refers to farming tires, hitch hight requirements and frame length requirements. ALSO, when running farm stock tractors they SHOULD have the weight on the sled move up according to how far they go, not timed. That is why alot of tractors bog out because they try to go fast! If the sled was based on feet there would be different results because people could get the actual max pull.
Sleds move according to distance, not speed. It will advance same at 3mph as at 5mph as it goes 100 feet. Just looks faster if puller is faster. Check the marks as they travel.
terry is runnin stock other than his fuel pump is turned up but those 40 series are all turned up I have a 4840 that I farm with and just messing around on the dino it hit 225hp lol
EthaN If your smart or know anything about the history of tractors than you would know that it wasn’t Olivers fault or anything they did to make them stop production. It was whites fault!
People demonstrate their abilities when they comment on videos. Some can see something worthwhile in even marginally worthy ones, while others miss the beauty, wonder or nostalgic value in everything around them, unless it's whiz-bang, zoomity-zoom or super-dooper. A pity, that.
Pull sleds use dynamic wieght transfer. As sled goes forward, greater down pressure is transferred to the sled as wieght moves up. That makes pull harder as it goes up the track. With Horse/Mule pulls, weight is static, requires several heats to find a winner.
It's a stock tran. JD has same thing with Quad Range or Hi/Lo transmission. Ford had Dual Power transmission. OEM stock is Stock qualifying. Heck yeah, I would use it. Totally fair to do it, too
rmpruitt, next time try zooming out a little. There's a lot more to a tractor pull than just the tractor. Like the sled perhaps. This video is essentially worthless because of this problem. I didn't care to watch the whole thing because I've seen what tractors look like while driving. I wanted to see a tractor pull competition.
i think its hilarious when those hot shot idiots like the one at 5:06 think they can run in road gear or close to it in the farm stock class. first of all they dont belong in farm stock cuz he aint stock, thats all there is too it, that 4640 aint stock either but they sure are fun to watch. the 4640 sure put on a hell of a show and im even a IH man
You John Deere guys sure are a delusional bunch of 'tards. There were two JD's in the show, one barely made it half way down the track and the other, despite being the newest, heaviest, most powerful tractor of the whole field, only came in third behind an Oliver and a Farmall. Just out of curiosity, are you John Deere fans mentally defective from inbreeding or is it due to repeated blows to the head?
Oliver tractors somehow seem to out pull the other makes in "stock" and antique pulls nearly every time. I'm a JD runner, but that other green seems to have more "A$$ to the grass" than Moline Green. I definitely respect that!
Very little truthful information in the posts. Those of you that are talking shit, if ya got one pull it! See how ya get spanked. If ya don't have one, go buy one, build, and still get spanked. There is much more to this sport (even on the farm stock level) then most people know. And yes I do pull Farm Stock with a 1066
This answer-I am quite sure-comes from somebody with a white collar-maybe even a white collar bank lackey, who helps to feed one of the greedy bank-houses . Maybe-for a change-you try to get an honest work-then you actually could look at you in the mirror again.... Get well soon.
I know the kids like to see modified pulling and monster trucks or whatever, but stock tractors are very entertaining. You can see how your own machines might compare
I definitely agree, though i still like modified tractors better these are still very entertaining
Now THIS is what tractor pulling really is. Not all modded up to the nines with umpteen engines and blowing up or destroying themselves and the things all around them. Love seeing real working tractors doing work.

farmers and their pulls, I swear... been doing it for centuries. First with horses, now tractors.
I could watch this stuff all day.
Well,folks-thats what I love about real farm people:

love the old stock tractors pulling. no zillion rpm, flame thrower jet engines. the grunt they can put to the ground is amazing
You know, it may be WAY slower than what I typically think of when I think Tractor Pull, but it seems much more genuine!
Those row crop 40 series Deere tractors are why John Deere made it through the 80s. Long live Deere.

That’s A Really Nice John Deere 4640 Tractor It’s Really Nice
I'm a John Deere guy....but nothing sounds like an International Turbo
I miss living where there are tractor pulls, I havent seen one since I was little.. =(

We love tractor pulls here at GroundBreak products and PlowBoy Up apparel.
OLIVER 2150...excellent all around utility tractor on our 600 cow dairy 1800 as well had excellent luck? With both
Your right...most have been "massaged".I pulled for 5 years including modified....and I beat the competition many times with a lower gear than using a higher one.If you get hooked up to the track well..you need low end torque for max pull...lower gear is many times necessary. Wow, lots of IH's... We have a 684 and it's a great machine
Great video! Thanks for posting!!
Now this is real tractor pullin .
I agree!
@18yamaha700sx when the cabs are pulled off they are awesome looking though
i like this tractor pulls. their real tractors not the suped up dragster tractors. origional tractors.
@cowzgonemad dude a 1066 weighs somewhere between 12k-13k with no weights and every tractor their had weights.... the sled they pull weighs probly 45k at the end
the fella at 5:33 is definately stock, just how it should be, and prolly fresh outa the field too
Just because they are "farm stock" does not mean they are not worked on or turned up on engine. Farm stock refers to farming tires, hitch hight requirements and frame length requirements. Farm stock is only farm stock if you have to unhook the haybine before you drive it to the pull (not haul)
Are those tractors completely stock?
@mrat455 I don't understand how they got it into a 15000 pound class, sticker weight on those is about 20000 pounds
@thelarkin101 thats an Allis Chalmers Im pretty sure
Id like to see the "Big Bud 747" pull this stuff :D
terry is runnin stock other than his fuel pump is turned up but those 40 series are all turned up I have a 4840 that I farm with and just messing around on the dino it hit 225hp lol
Yup Oliver's are better than any other tractor
Tyson Stone nope
Why did they go out of business then?
EthaN If your smart or know anything about the history of tractors than you would know that it wasn’t Olivers fault or anything they did to make them stop production. It was whites fault!
If you can get one to stay running right and the transmission stays together, they sure pull good.
People demonstrate their abilities when they comment on videos. Some can see something worthwhile in even marginally worthy ones, while others miss the beauty, wonder or nostalgic value in everything around them, unless it's whiz-bang, zoomity-zoom or super-dooper. A pity, that.
@MrGroDawg Indiana. It's this new thing called an abbreviation!
how is teh weight increased as they go along then? is there a weight moving up that tow rig behind them or something???
Pull sleds use dynamic wieght transfer. As sled goes forward, greater down pressure is transferred to the sled as wieght moves up. That makes pull harder as it goes up the track. With Horse/Mule pulls, weight is static, requires several heats to find a winner.
@cowzgonemad yes, the tractor does weigh 15k!
Yeah that red scrap metal does well i n tractor pulls consistently. I still like My John Deere compact 2520.
@SocialScrotem International doesn't make a turbo, Ballbag! It's likely a Garrett turbo.
damn that 4640 has got work done! listen to that fuckin turbo!
You can see them guys in the IH slamming the TA
It's a stock tran. JD has same thing with Quad Range or Hi/Lo transmission. Ford had Dual Power transmission. OEM stock is Stock qualifying. Heck yeah, I would use it. Totally fair to do it, too
@rmpruitt Fayette County, Indiana! Do you know what abbreviations are?
he is not an idiot he is checking the track
power shifts are the best at tractor pulls its easy to shift gears
4640 JD like a boss!
Richard were having a big party you comin up tonight?
I’m A John Deere Man John Deere Tractors Are The Best
International all the way!! Let er dig!!!
Oliver gets it done.
looks like the differential lock was on the jd

@MrGroDawg I was hoping to hear PA.
Where all them powerful Kubotas at.
Pete Jones the junk yard 😀
Ahaha do you think a Kubota can really compete with a real farm tractor?
nice video man!
That 504 in the case didn’t give a shit😂 if it weighed more, maybe coulda got further.
the oliver tractor are the best !!!
first puller is a sharp 1566. nice
John Deere's pull like a train.
i was there! its awesome!
VERY NICE..
Wow, how big of you.
It looked like a re-fit with a 5.9 Cummins.
is that a 1466?
@SocialScrotem i like the v8 tractors i think they sound the best
@cowzgonemad so how is fair?
the best class
rmpruitt, next time try zooming out a little. There's a lot more to a tractor pull than just the tractor. Like the sled perhaps. This video is essentially worthless because of this problem. I didn't care to watch the whole thing because I've seen what tractors look like while driving. I wanted to see a tractor pull competition.
@abtran2010 at least these tractors got to live a life for what they were built for and still going instead of living in the garage all the time
Oliver guys be saying sucking clock good for us
hey bro its kinda nice seeing people destroy there own tracters for a change i run with itpa look it up we destroy a lot of stuff
why the ih guys not using the ta only one used it
the ta in a stock international is very weak and under a hard pull like this you can tear it out.
duramax diesel powa
Lol what does probing mean?
@billydmax it sure looks like it doesn't it
i cant believe i watched the whole thing lol
Bog 'er down, boys!
There no tractor worth a hill of beans if don't take care of like you are supposed. I like JD myself.
they should have had a international 886 pullin
i think its hilarious when those hot shot idiots like the one at 5:06 think they can run in road gear or close to it in the farm stock class. first of all they dont belong in farm stock cuz he aint stock, thats all there is too it, that 4640 aint stock either but they sure are fun to watch. the 4640 sure put on a hell of a show and im even a IH man
you guys sould hear a JD 435.
the tractrors have a nos :D:D
6:13 is the best hands down!!!!!
John Deere Beats Anything This Video Shows It
Colby Burkett-the pump has been serioisly opened up
You John Deere guys sure are a delusional bunch of 'tards. @@2xxx2xxx21 that 4640 was bone stock. I owned one for 20 years
@@jameslandon4126 hater because you can afford one.
I thought it was funny how all it was was IH at fisrt, then the John Deere shows all of them up. To bad the Oliver beat it though.
Oliver tractors somehow seem to out pull the other makes in "stock" and antique pulls nearly every time. I'm a JD runner, but that other green seems to have more "A$$ to the grass" than Moline Green. I definitely respect that!
they ran a lot of Maxums

6:13 no more like 4:22
