This was an excellent review/test-ride video. I have been considering heading into my local dealer to test-ride one of these 2023 Lowrider ST's for myself and you convinced me that it's worth my while to do just that. Thank you!
I love this bike. Very powerful. Very light ride. I’m early 50’s and not getting any younger. So I appreciate the weight of it. Even though the new RG is a little lighter than previous years. Would definitely get the FXLRST.
Very nicely done on the overall for the demo ride. I myself like how compact the gauges are but i'm a very minimalist type when it comes to motorcycles and the dash. I know that's one of ben's from bikesbearsandbrews is why convert everything to LED and not the turn signals...
I drove to my local HD dealer to purchase that bike. Ended up with a Polaris Challenger. For me it was nostalgia as I owned an original FXR. (I still have the fairing and bags hanging on my wall). But in the end the Challenger offered more for not much more $$$.
I always had forward controls on my Harley’s. I love the mids, once you get used to them, you realize this is a natural position for your feet and works great for aggressive riding.
I would call it a mid-range touring bike. It won’t have the frame or the seat to take you long distances like a true touring bike would (Road Glide, Street Glide, BMW 1250 or 1600, etc.
Just saw and wondering if u wud prefer this bike or the Heritage for maybe 250 mile ride ? Love my Heritage but buffeting really gets me at highway speeds, and just curious if that fairing makes it tons better.Thanxfor great videos, Marty in Georgetown
Try a windshield 2” taller on your Heritage or a recurve LRS windshield. One of those really help. The ST should have less buffeting than a stock Heritage, but it doesn’t have as good a rider position. I’m 5-11 and 220. Are you in Georgetown Texas?
thanx brother...I'm planning on ordering a 20" light tint with the vent in it from them..They offered me a really great deal due to a mess up on one of their past shields, so think I'll try that..Thanx agian for great videos, and thanx for replying so fast..Be safe and God bless ya ! @@trippontwowheels
sporty….breakout?? lol did I catch that right. A bike with an extreme chopper rake and basically the fattest rear motorcycle tire you can get on it you’re considering sporty? Probably one of the worst handling bikes they have ever had. The st is literally sporty, you have a taller monoshock a reduced 28 rake, inverted front forks, and dual disc breaks, those are performance sport oriented decisions. St is touring capable and a beast of a canyon carver, hence the taller monoshock increasing your lean angle. ST = sport touring. breakout is a show bike, nothing sporty about her. But hey!! Great video!!!!
The fairing is kinda ugly… IMO, Batwing and Sharknose much nicer…. But prefer the Challenger look over all of them. That snorkel is a PITA..road the Road Glide ST, and Breakout knock the shins every time. The 117 is a nice motor.
Nice to hear the air intake isn't in the way -- is that because of the different controls position or did they actually fix the location of the intake? Edit: oh (7:25) it is still in the way. When will Harley ever fix this ridiculousness?
The rear brake needs addressing many have the same issue, rear brakes sucks, if they come out with a chrome version ill buy one till then the blacked out version is still a deal breaker for me, plus I hope they change the bag set up to open from the top, the clam shell is a horrible design.
This bike absolutely requires that you add the green brothers adjustable linkage. Once you add that, you can adjust the rear brake, and it absolutely transforms it into something usable. I similarly added the green brothers shifter linkage, and it is far better than stock and allowed me to adjust the shifter pedal so that it is much easier to use. This is my only real criticism of the bike.
Why would this not be a 2 up bike. The thing is a couch. Have u seen dudes in like Vietnam 6 deep on a freaking moped. Maybe diabetic carol and big gulp Greg would prefer a trike but this is for sure a two up bike.

Thanks SK! Good luck with your test-ride and decision.
I bought a white sand pearl model and for me it’s the best bike ever made
It’s always great when you find a bike that fits you like a glove. I’m the same way with my M8 Heritage. Congrats David!

Mid controls are best for controlling the bike in spritted riding! I prefer them!
Agree 100%.
I can do the same with the forwards on my fat bob
I can ride harder being comfortable vs knees in chest....
I always had forward controls on my Harley’s. I love the mids, once you get used to them, you realize this is a natural position for your feet and works great for aggressive riding.
Why isn’t it a good touring bike? I rode a FXR with that fairing setup, and it was perfect. 👍🏻
I would call it a mid-range touring bike. It won’t have the frame or the seat to take you long distances like a true touring bike would (Road Glide, Street Glide, BMW 1250 or 1600, etc.
Great video, tiny note. The lean angle is 31.3 degrees, not 28. The rake angle is 28
I bought a Rockford Fosgate system and changed the pipes and added the LED turn and a tune. Maybe a short foot board and seat nest
I hate the Casio gauge on the new Harley’s. I miss the twin clocks. I do however love the new road/street glide digital screens
Im probably just going to buy the fairing for my sportglide.

@aggiedude63 Ordering what? An LRS? You from Georgetown Tx?
@@trippontwowheels and fyi, I'm right at 5' 10" and 220.....Still torn between 20" LRS with vent and reckless fairing....
Can you share how was the wind protection of the ST on highway compare to the RG?
Good ride and review .
Thanks G!
I like this bike. How did you ever get Arnold and Sgt. Carter to help? 🙂
Trade secret!
The bags actually hold a lot. I much prefer this one to the Road King. Much nimbler and lighter.
I own a road king and sat on an ST today. I would have to agree
I do really like the Low Rider ST, however, I think the RK still outperforms for long distance riding.
Great video bro
Thanks Karl!

What did you think of the handlebar position? I thought it was too far forward compared to my Dyna LR.
For me it wasn’t too forward, just a touch too low. I’d like to put an additional 2” height on them personally.
I did that. Yes.
I live in cibolo.. I gotta get mine in for service.. cool vid
We live probably 2-3 miles from each other. Interested in riding sometime?

That thing needs a 2into1 and it’s good nice bike
Commentary was good, but the picture cut-ins were ott and a head melt.
Beautiful motorcycle. I would want forward controls and quality aftermarket exhaust. Like the content.
Thanks Fearsome!
With forward control's and 2 into 1 exhaust its a 100% better
Nice looking bike. Looks like a mini Electra- or Streetglide!
It sort of does. With lots of power.
Sawicki makes some nasty exhaust. Also my concern is that breather and rain!
Ang ganda po ng motor nio sir..enjoy the ride po..
You can tour on it but it's not like a full touring model

I hate how bad I want one of these. It pisses me off so bad that for 20k the Speedo looks like that and I don’t get speaker.
Aftermarket speedo combo set look badass on these. Um, I think Thrashin makes some good ones.
Having a big bike like Harley the feeling is like your in cloud 9 vrooonmmmveooommm
lol! "AND THEN GOD SPOKE" rolled right into a Hyundai Sonata commercial
Funny!
Nice to hear the air intake isn't in the way -- is that because of the different controls position or did they actually fix the location of the intake?
Edit: oh (7:25) it is still in the way. When will Harley ever fix this ridiculousness?
It’s due to the mid-mount foot controls. Forward controls would cause trouble, at least for me.
The rear brake needs addressing many have the same issue, rear brakes sucks, if they come out with a chrome version ill buy one till then the blacked out version is still a deal breaker for me, plus I hope they change the bag set up to open from the top, the clam shell is a horrible design.

Harley-Davidson used to be just a fashion statement, they still are, but they used to be too.
I can't wait to get rid of my Harley

The obvious? Because it was manufactured with no passenger seat or passenger foot pegs.
@@trippontwowheels it doesn’t come with anything for 25k you can for ride two up on this.
So softtail stole the low rider name
Harley officially calls this a "sport touring" bike ... and I'm not sure if their marketing people know what that means.
Check out my review on my 2023 lowrider st
And I thought the Road Glide looks like a down syndrome. This one is even worse. I'm staying with Street Glide ST. Nice Video tho.
So what was the WTF ?
Fiberglass bags? What, are we back in the 1970’s?
Google is your friend. They’ve been using them all along.
Nice test. But it's still a Harley.
Indeed and thankfully so.
It's a girl cruiser😂. They made em for chicks.
Girls are riding Hayabusas and what ever else they care too! You are insulting yourself anytime you say "it's a Girls bike, etc." Get over it !
@Ronald Thomas when I see a woman move a big eletra glide around I'll get over it.!
very nice ride :)
