[1]Henlo, this is very late and I'm unsure if you got your answer or not (or if you're still interested in this). This song is based of the novel entitled "Heaven Official's Blessing." It currently has two adaptions, if I remember correctly, a manhua (Chinese Manga) and a donghua (Chinese Anime). The novel is originally a shounen ai novel, so no papapa but there's still gay romance. Due to Chinese censorship, I think the manhua and the donghua will try to make the romance part less explicit or at least not outright state it because Haoliners is pulling no stops in feeding us dog food. The manhua's art is very heavenly too, I can't elaborate much at the moment since my brain is running on 3 hours of sleep but just take a glance of one (1) panel and you'll know what I'm talking about. [2]Even if you're not a fan of the genre, I'd like to still ask of you to try it out. I personally like this one out of all MXTX' novels. Speaking of MXTX' novels, if HOB is not to your liking or you don't like BL in general, I'd still like to introduce you to "Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation/Founder of Diabolism/Mo Dao Zu Shi/The Untamed." I actually encountered this franchise (MDZS) in a similar situation to yours. YT suddenly recommended me a music compilation of the donghua's soundtrack and I fell in love with the opening song. I watched the donghua first then got interested in the novel since season two wasn't out yet. I wasn't really into BL at that time but since I found out that the story is more focused on the plot, I decided to give it a try and binge read the whole novel for two days. And it was amazing ;-; The donghua is pretty tamed and tones down the gayness since Chinese censorship is strict about this. So if you're not into BL, I really recommend this since the story and characters really attached themselves to me. If you watch K-dramas or C-dramas or whatever the umbrella term for those shows is, there is a live action adaptation called "The Untamed." Still censored due to Chinese censorship though they manage to include the love via intense staring and body language. It is mostly faithful to the novel, though some details inevitably get lost or added so I still recommend reading the novel if you managed to like it. [3]There's also MXTX' very first novel, "The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System." There's a 3D donghua adaptation of it shortened to "Scumbag System" and the manhua got discontinued because the artist was bullied online. A vivid memory of mine about this novel was of a non-BL fan commenting on how he was oblivious of the BL subplot until the obvious scenes showed up. He then said that he'll still finish the whole novel and just skip the papapapa scenes (which happens at the last chapter and the extras). I don't have much to say about this apart from the fact that I like it and that the MC is very hilarious. And that I wish it got more attention since TSVSSS is like the unloved child compared to its two descendants. Tldr; PLS READ MXTX' NOVELS

@@wontons2125 same happened to me. I stumbled upon Grandmaster of demonic cultivation donghua. So it was really a lil hard for. Me to get in Chinese anime cause I have always watched Japanese. So Chinese kinda stinged my ears at first because I think Chinese is more sharper than Japanese accent. So I got really hooked to the donghua. I didn't know it was bl at all XD. So I watched some WWX LWJ ship videos at RUclips. But I thought it was just fan ship. So I went on and read the novel. And it was super interesting. I loved it. Later I found out this is indeed bl. But tbh after reading this novel I felt love exist between two souls. It was a very beautiful realization. So later I went on and read all mxtx novels. And I have to say they all are beautiful. So even though this is bl. TGCF has lot of things that teach us. I will say bl doesn't make it blend in anyway. It's more exciting

This song reminds me of how I start reading tgcf in the middle of 2018, while suika in the middle of translating this, I remember I stumbled at book 4 since I catched up to that part, I remember those painful, happy, sad, joy, sorrow moments that Xie Lian went through that 800 years had already passed, but despite of that Hua Cheng never waver of his loyalty for him. [1]Henlo, this is very late and I'm unsure if you got your answer or not (or if you're still interested in this). This song is based of the novel entitled "Heaven Official's Blessing." It currently has two adaptions, if I remember correctly, a manhua (Chinese Manga) and a donghua (Chinese Anime). The novel is originally a shounen ai novel, so no papapa but there's still gay romance. Due to Chinese censorship, I think the manhua and the donghua will try to make the romance part less explicit or at least not outright state it because Haoliners is pulling no stops in feeding us dog food. The manhua's art is very heavenly too, I can't elaborate much at the moment since my brain is running on 3 hours of sleep but just take a glance of one (1) panel and you'll know what I'm talking about.
[2]Even if you're not a fan of the genre, I'd like to still ask of you to try it out. I personally like this one out of all MXTX' novels. Speaking of MXTX' novels, if HOB is not to your liking or you don't like BL in general, I'd still like to introduce you to "Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation/Founder of Diabolism/Mo Dao Zu Shi/The Untamed."
I actually encountered this franchise (MDZS) in a similar situation to yours. YT suddenly recommended me a music compilation of the donghua's soundtrack and I fell in love with the opening song. I watched the donghua first then got interested in the novel since season two wasn't out yet. I wasn't really into BL at that time but since I found out that the story is more focused on the plot, I decided to give it a try and binge read the whole novel for two days. And it was amazing ;-;
The donghua is pretty tamed and tones down the gayness since Chinese censorship is strict about this. So if you're not into BL, I really recommend this since the story and characters really attached themselves to me.
If you watch K-dramas or C-dramas or whatever the umbrella term for those shows is, there is a live action adaptation called "The Untamed." Still censored due to Chinese censorship though they manage to include the love via intense staring and body language. It is mostly faithful to the novel, though some details inevitably get lost or added so I still recommend reading the novel if you managed to like it.
[3]There's also MXTX' very first novel, "The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System." There's a 3D donghua adaptation of it shortened to "Scumbag System" and the manhua got discontinued because the artist was bullied online. A vivid memory of mine about this novel was of a non-BL fan commenting on how he was oblivious of the BL subplot until the obvious scenes showed up. He then said that he'll still finish the whole novel and just skip the papapapa scenes (which happens at the last chapter and the extras). I don't have much to say about this apart from the fact that I like it and that the MC is very hilarious. And that I wish it got more attention since TSVSSS is like the unloved child compared to its two descendants.

@@wontons2125 same happened to me. I stumbled upon Grandmaster of demonic cultivation donghua. So it was really a lil hard for. Me to get in Chinese anime cause I have always watched Japanese. So Chinese kinda stinged my ears at first because I think Chinese is more sharper than Japanese accent. So I got really hooked to the donghua. I didn't know it was bl at all XD. So I watched some WWX LWJ ship videos at RUclips. But I thought it was just fan ship. So I went on and read the novel. And it was super interesting. I loved it. Later I found out this is indeed bl. But tbh after reading this novel I felt love exist between two souls. It was a very beautiful realization. So later I went on and read all mxtx novels. And I have to say they all are beautiful. So even though this is bl. TGCF has lot of things that teach us. I will say bl doesn't make it blend in anyway. It's more exciting

This song reminds me of how I start reading tgcf in the middle of 2018, while suika in the middle of translating this, I remember I stumbled at book 4 since I catched up to that part, I remember those painful, happy, sad, joy, sorrow moments that Xie Lian went through that 800 years had already passed, but despite of that Hua Cheng never waver of his loyalty for him.
