I used your previous circle skirt tutorial to make a ball gown skirt using the half circle skirt tutorial. I included pleats in the back for a fuller silhouette and I did that by making my waist measurement larger and adding an extension panel to add fullness while keeping the half circle shape. I use circle skirts in a lot of historical designs, especially on jacket peplums, sleeve flounces, sleeve puffs, ruffles on petticoats, and many other things like ball gowns and day dresses.
I love the quick tip template!! I found the radius by taking half of my waist measurement and dividing it by 3.14 then multiply that by 4 (14/3.14x4) Just a different formula that I think is just a tad bit easier. Thank you so much.
Beutifully explained. Could you please do a tutorial on how to measure and cut a full maxi circle skirt on a 60" wide fabric as thats the widest width fabric i can find here in England.
I'm so glad I found your channel. I have been looking for a clear tutorial on circular skirts. You did a great job. Would you be able to do a tutorial on how to make cullottes based on a quarter and half circle skirt? Thank you!
Hello, thank you very much for the precious tutorials that you are making to share you talent. I am very greatful to you. I am 5.11 and i would like to make a full circle maxi skirt for myself but since I am so tall I can't make it in one panel. Could you please demonstrate how to make it with 3 panels ? Thanks in advance. 😊
Dear La Modelist, when I cut the pattern on fabric I should have a seam allowance? or when I do the pattern I should included on the pattern rather?. Thank you for sharing your talent; bless you.
I'm a bit confused, when you drafted that template for waist radius, did you actually divide your measurement by 2? I see it around 8 inches kinda on your video so must be halved?
Hello LA MODÉLISTE, thank you for sharing your experience with us who love to know best about preparing different kinds of Circle Skirts. I have a question for you; about the cardboard that you used @1/4 Circle Skirt, you took 4/8" or 1.3cm at the edges of the cardboard. Did you take the same measurement for the cardboard edges you used at 1/2 and Full Circle Skirts? Thank you again. I am Workie from Ethiopia-Addis Ababa.
The beeeest ever oooof finally i found a clear video and in " cm" because it's hard for me to use inches etc ...but you missed it when you used yards hhh you didnt give the equivalent in meter but in general you still the best
The shop company, royal dress form, PGM, de liang I think you can find ones on Etsy. If your Filipino you can go to lazada Or shopee and find Bacolod Mannequins
If you wanted to use one of the skirts to make a dress with Dennic Chunman Lo bodice block, and put buttons on side how would you approach this??? Thank you!!!
@@givethankseveryday ah yes, à quarter circle skirt doesn’t have a lot of flares. If you want to achieve flares you could try half circle skirt or full
Because I live in the Philippines and we use imperial more than metric, but I also included the cm conversions if you will pay attention to the subtitles. Have a great day

You are so welcome!
hey everybody, just so you know ( because she forgot to mention) the 1/2 circle skirt calculation includes 1/2 seam allowance on the back seam!

i have to make 3 circle skirts for uni and this helped me so much with figuring out how to cut certain skirts
At 13:09 you said to decrease sewing allowance, and then you cut a small strip of fabric from each side. What was the purpose of decreasing it?
This tutorial is so easy to follow, thank you so much ❤
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you sosososo much for the centimeter version . ❤❤❤❤❤

I’m new to sewing, would I easily be able to use an elastic waistband with these skirts or should I just do a zipper?
Dear La Modelist, when I cut the pattern on fabric I should have a seam allowance? or when I do the pattern I should included on the pattern rather?. Thank you for sharing your talent; bless you.
Before you cut on the fabric it is best to put the sewing or seam allowance on your pattern first.
Well explained thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful

Thank you so much for your work 💛💛💛💛

very clearly explained. Thank you. but in the full circle skirt why do we decrease sewing allowance from both sides?
I never decreased the sewing allowance. I put seams on the side for pocket purposes
Around 13:10, you say “and decrease the sewing allowance on both sides at center back.”
What is the purpose of decreasing the sewing allowance?

i dont understand, does the half circle skirt join at the back or do you make 2 panels?
That template is a brilliant idea. But why didnt you add seam allowance to the formula as you did in the previous video?
Right?
No I didn’t add any SA
Thank you so much ma'am
You’re welcome! ❤❤❤
Hello can I use elastic for the waist??
Helloo, i just discovered this video, love your explanation but wtb zipper allowance...
If you wanted to use one of the skirts to make a dress with Dennic Chunman Lo bodice block, and put buttons on side how would you approach this??? Thank you!!!
Just simply place the seam on the side
thank you! 1/4 c.q here i come!
❤❤❤❤❤ go for it
If I may ask what did you use. under the fabric ?
Hi, I didn’t use anything
Thanks ma'am
You’re welcome 😇
What kind of material did you use in the video?
You meant the fabric? I used duchess satin
What if I don’t want any seams?
Hello! I would like to ask lang po, saan po galing yung 6.28? hehe Thank you!
Pi = 3.14 x 2 = 6.28
I did the quarter circle and mine had flairs on one side but on the zipper side there was no flair. What went wrong?
Did you cut the pattern on bias?
@@LAMODÉLISTE Yes.

Etsy
will full circle be okay for a lady that is pear shaped (i.e bigger butt) or half ?
🥰🙏

Hi!
hi can you put the measuentvin inches and how to culvolate te wiast please
The measurements are in inches if you will look closely
Your 3/4 waist circumference looks way smaller then 5 inches
What is your measurements are inches and not cm
Because I live in the Philippines and we use imperial more than metric, but I also included the cm conversions if you will pay attention to the subtitles. Have a great day
